something that adds to the scariness of Nightmare is that his jumpscare sound slowed down is a distorted ambulance siren, and some people say that it’s because it’s the last thing the child (player) heard while being rushed to the hospital after getting their frontal lobe bitten by Nightmare
have you seen the bite cutscene? It's not just the frontal lobe, the kid's entire head was shoved into Fredbear's mouth! Poor child's skull must've been crushed by the pressure of the mechanisms
The frontal lobe is mangle (FNAF 1 confirms it "Then there was the bite of 1987" Evan's bite is 1983) his entire HEAD was crushed

I don’t remember why I didn’t think FNAF 4 was anything special when it came out. Revisiting it now, I completely agree, it twisted the formula in a way to amplify apprehension and it was executed so damn well. My favorite part has to be the pieces of the story it gave us though. These particular cutscene/minigames are one of my favorite parts of the series to this day.
I remember now lol I’m pretty sure it was the depression I was in that just sucked the appreciation for things out of me. Either way, it’s cool to revisit now that I *can* appreciate it!

I personally think Nightmares Jumpscare is a representation of the final moments of the child, like the last thing they ever saw. That’s what Fredbear looked like to them.

Looking back at it and the message that comes with it "some things are better left forgotten" I think it's talking about parts of the lore that have been changed/retconned by Scott (like the Puppet) and theories and inspirations for the game that once fit or are still accurate but drawing parallels to or staying on the same course as them are holding people back from finding the true intended lore, if such a thing exists.

My friend pointed out that the lack of color, opacity, and an animated jumpscare for Nightmare could also be the Crying Child's mind shutting down on his deathbed. Like Nightmare is the last remains of the Child's once vivid nightmares; all that lingers in his memories is Fredbear's silhouette, monstrous teeth and soul-piercing eyes. Which has just made Nightmare's jumpscare so contextually sad to me. There's no grab or loud roar, just a half-formed monster and a stare. The brain in which the nightmare is taking place is dying.
your friend sounds scrupulous, really smart of them to catch all that. I caught onto that a while back and it's one of my favorite things about this particular game in the series. there are so many small details and hints throughout it that a lot of people might not catch so you have to be very detail-oriented when you're into the lore and enjoy creating theories. The lore and theory-making are why I love FNAF so much as there's so much not confirmed that it's fun to think about all the different ways things could go and all the way the smallest changes in details could change everything we know about the series thus far. I'm still pretty sad about Scott renouncing himself from the games, as we all know they will never be the same as his original games.

I'm here after watching Help Wanted 2, I just wanted to say that Nightmare's jumpscare is way more unsettling than the others because all the boy remembers is the red eyes and the teeth of the scary bear that killed him, then the sirens arriving. Very good game. 10/10 scary. Go Scott!
I always thought the same thing when people complained about Springtrap’s FNAF3 jumpscares. To me it always felt much more cold and calculating, as a psychopath should be. And that’s without looking back knowing we’re presumably Michael in that game too and he recognized his son (then likely changed his attitude after he tried to set him on fire and thus is more aggressive in Pizza Sim).
It's such a sad thing that this game is basically Crying Child stuck in this endless nightmare and his horrible memories playing on repeat before his death. Which is so depressing to think about. It really makes you think how his brother and his friends felt about this in the end and if they have any guilt at all for the things they've done.
I really like Nightmare in the way that he's made to be more unsettling than scary. His jumpscare is just a blank stare, it makes him unique.

It's basically the same as the Golden Freddy jumpscare from the first game. Same blank stare, same sound file, the only difference was that Golden Freddy froze the game and dumped you out of it, while Nightmare doesn't.

@@afurlong1508 actually it's very possible that the company was founded In 1983, and so it would show the date it was founded on the tv. It's possible that fnaf 4 takes place at the same time as fnaf 2, and that the sister location was fredbears, as well as also having circus baby's rental as well.

Nightmare's jumpscare is really bloody unsettling. When the other animotronics jumpscare you, the fear bounces out of you and settles down. Nightmare on the other hand just shows his face on the spot accompanied by an unpleasant electronic frequency leaving a longer lasting effect on your fears. Imagine playing this, then seeing Nightmare's face and hearing the noise. You would be trembling to this horror with a gut wrenching feeling of being watched by something you can't simply describe...

Is it at all possible that Nightmare/ Shadow Freddy is the child himself?
Goldie/Fredbear is possessed by Cassidy and Puppet is possessed by Charlotte.
In the games files, Nightmare is referred to as Shadow Freddy and in theory, Shadow Freddy represents the soul of the one who got spring locked inside of Fredbear.
Due to the kid constantly crying throughout the game, when he was fed to Fredbear, tears would have slipped into his jaw causing him to bite (springlock failure possibly).
Nightmare could be a representation of what Plushbear meant when he said "he'll put the kid back together."
So the kids soul could be Shadow Freddy, the first spring locked victim of Fredbear and the kid "put back together" as promised.
