Thanks, Binh! I'm having the same issue with my intellicenter 2 panel; lost communication to both the pump and the wireless device at the same time, and I suspect you hit the nail on the head -- fried controller chip. I really wish they'd insulate those things better as desoldering / resoldering it is beyond me, but the info was still very helpful. Much appreciated!

A $450 new board or find someone that can fix electrical to do it for less.

This is just what I needed! Thank you!
I'm in the same boat, running EasyToutch manually since a lightning storm last year with UART Error 5.
The board visually looks fine, but unfortunately, I'm getting only 0.7v on the voltage test that you suggested.
Any advice on how to troubleshoot further?
Separately, UART failed before and the board was replaced under warranty. It seems a common problem with these controllers.
Do you think it is the design or improper grounding?
    Thanks again!

Try this thread. It might help with the low voltage. www.troublefreepool.com/threads/pentair-ic40-with-no-power.148051/

Are you located in Florida (by your tshirt?) or where are you from. I have an issue with my communication, it seems that was some sort of water of condensation inside that short circuit something. All the buttons work and light , but the communication with the pump is not working that seems to be the RSA chip you mentioned. I have a PCB 521099 board.

Yea I’m in Orlando. But if all controls work but your screen logic app and pump communications aren’t then it’s that chip.

I got a lighting strike a week ago.
this work repaired my easy touch 8 board but my screenlogic burn up also.
has you tried to repair a screenlogic

Does it not power on or no communication? The outdoor receiver/transmitter also has same chip for RS485. That might be bad.

One way to test is to bring the white ScreenLogic box down near your receiver and wire it directly into easy touch, plug into a long Ethernet cable to router and see if it works.

my screenlogic protocol adaptor is hard wire to my easytouch I'm not using the wireless kit.
after the lightning strike my app lost communication with it

If hardwired, the chip might have surged too in the adapter. It might same as the one on the easy touch since it’s a commodity item.

So weird how Americans pronounce “solder” as “sahdah”.
