Good rule of thumb: usually the E-Class is going to be the most reliable Mercs.
Yes.. i actually confirmed that with a.Benz mechanic .a few years back when I wanted an SL
@@j.johnson6548 Yeah, it was a Benz mech who told me this too. S-Class has too much tech. C-Class isn't as robust. E-Class is the sweet spot.
What taxi company wants an unreliable car ?
E class or norhing . 😊
Gle 350?
@@bigpump9483 Perhaps...the higher output gle can be unreliable, but yeah the gle350 is basically the e-class so it should be good
I have over 400K miles on my 2006 Mercedes. Still original starter and alternator even. People told me it would have died at 100K miles.
What model you recommend
2005-2006 Mercedes E320 CDI if you are in USA. Good mpg over 30 and bulletproof overall
Thanks for letting us know the model
This is amazing to hear, thank you. So much negativity all the time ❤
I owed a 2015 e350 since new i have 100k miles all I do is regular maintenance no breakdowns nothing problems at all runs like new that v6 naturally aspired engine is bulletproof I have the sport package with the coil springs suspension that gives more reliability thanks for the video keep up the good work 👍
2010 e550 here. Bought it about 4 years ago for $18k with just 60k miles. Now at 84k, still running great. Might drive this one until the AirMatic goes bad. Great ar.
well....
If air suspension goes bad just fix it, and keep it , you won’t find a better car
@@damirzanneair suspension can be unreliable and expensive to replace. Just switch over to coilovers/springs
@@RxPoundz This.
It’s not that expensive just fix it and it will last another 10 years
We got a 07 GL450 and she has over 200k miles on her. Really reliable. Recently had the air front suspension replaced as well as the rack and pinion. Expensive but she’s running fairly new like it did in 2007!
Nice break down Mark !!! ✌🏻🫶🏻🇨🇦 have a great week 🇨🇦
Great vid! 2014 E350 Coupe with now 129k miles and no real problems. Just wished I had gotten the 4-matic one instead of rwd. Less maintenance headache but would be great with winter approaching :D Mine also has standard suspension so I don't have the issues some face with the air ride suspension. This V6 has been a solid engine.
Same here but got the c350
I have a 2016 rwd E350 Sport. The regular maintenance is pricey, but the car has been rock solid. I’ve got 52k on the clock and on the highway (@ 70mph) I’m getting 31.6 mpg, about 20 around town. This is a non-turbo V6, making 302hp. I’m very happy with the car and it’s reliability over the last 4 years.
About how much is the regular maintenance?
2019 GLA45 here. It's an absolute blast. I agree, the ride is a little harsh, but it's damn quick. Wifey drives a 2013 C350, with the correct lights. Only issue we have had is the common timing chain tensioners.
Gotta know the specific weaknesses and stay on top of them. Thanks for watching.
How is the wind/tire noise on higher speeds (100km/h+)? I'm considering a CLA 2019 model, a bit worried the noise might make it an uncomfortable long-distance ride though.
Would greatly help!
@@nickmotion The road noise is not too bad in my opinion. Since it's still in the A class family, the dampening is not as thorough as other cars. In my previous comment, I mentioned owning a C350. I would prefer that car over long distances. I recommend test driving one yourself.
Also, the ride can be a bit harsh. Stay away from the base audio system too, it really sucks.
I bought a 2008 C300 a year ago with 120k miles and now it has 128k. It did require a lot of maintenance items but it doesn’t leak and the engine and transmission are faultless. The interior trim however is falling apart, cracking and breaking. I’m impressed how it drives and how smooth the 3liter V6 is.
I have a 2008 c350 n it is nearly at one hundred an eighty thousand miles. Love the car. The interior trim I had to replace but mostly buttons n switches
I have a 2007 C230 with 197k+ miles and it's made it across US from Ocean to Ocean 6 times in past 3 years... not counting the other trips from North to South and viceversa; and that is supposed to be the one with problems... still running..
YES. MY 350 DRIVES LIKE A SHIFTER CART. I LOVE THE BODY STYLE N I AM TRYING TO UPDATE INTERIOR BUT I LOOKING FOR A W204 C63. THAT MY DREAM CAR. IT DOESN’T MATTER WHAT I WILL NEVER SELL MY C 350
Thanks for the heads up! 😎
Reliable Mercedes? yeah an older one.
People skimp on the maintenance.
Yes some.
Yes they are I owned few cars Mercedes w204 and w212 are more reliable than all kia an hayindays and bmw , Toyota are fucken plastic pukets and yes I owned all of that cars are very cheap where I live
I have over 400K miles on my 2006 Mercedes original starter and alternator even. Runs perfectly.
@@dariodjakovic1600nice! I currently owned a 2012 Volkswagen Eos and would like to get a Mercedes-Benz as the next car! Kind of want a sedan from them this time. Any recommendations?
Hi Mark. Great new video. Your thoughts on 2006 CLK 350's? I drive one and love it more everyday
I’ve been having an 2004 E500 Sport Edition for 8 yrs now. It’s not my everyday driver but when I bought it it had 95k miles on it now I’m at 160k. I removed the automatic suspension. Sometimes I have issues with my alternator every 30k miles it needs replaced besides that it’s my BABY! And I’ll never get rid of it
I just returned from Toyota dealer, was gonna trade my daughters 2013 GLK350 for Camry or RAV4 … after taking a Camry for a test drive , my daughter got so upset , she went to her Mercedes to wait on me, didn’t even go on the ride with RAV4 … lol … she was not impressed with Toyota at all, she said her 11 year old Benz rides 10 times better than new Toyota …😂… I bought her new Dodge Challenger another day , and she asked me to return it , so she can keep her old Benz 😂… we did took 2015 S550 for a test drive another day, she was ok with that one lol … all those Toyotas , Hondas, Dodges etc… just ride like a wheelbarrow compared to Mercedes … I tried to tell her, she didn’t believe me lol … I guess we’re keeping her GLK 😊… it has 110K and rides better than my 2019 GLC … she’s 17 and I think she’s a Benz person lol … she got that Benz bug 😊
Try a lexus, not as much tech but they are the best ride besides a rolls Royce
Lexus Sir is the King I like Mercedes But here is the problem reliability is around 130 thousand miles and when problems start People who buy Mercedes unusually get rid of them once the warranty is about to expire and the resell value dips If you compare resell value Lexus will hold and last longer BMW is garbage now Resell value terrible If you don't believe me go to a CarMax and see for your self or big name dealer in your area Sir and see for your self or online website German vehicles were great back in the 60, 70, 80 hits or miss after that era in my opinion.
Don't let your kid(s) out smart you. Especially if it's coming out your pockets. Use logic and leave the feelings out. Make them earn it.
So you got played 😂😂😂
E and C 220d, Vitos and V-Klasse are the best, many taxi services and delivery services will ditch them around 300.000-450.000 miles but some daring people buy them secondhand and keep them alot longer.
I have 2019 S560 and it has been amazing. Had previously 2016 S550 both are w222 and this model has been bulletproof. Maintenance on S class is expensive but worth every moment I get in that car. Great video Mark.
Very nice!
Keep going your doing great job
Thanks
Ive been looking at getting a 2013-15 GLK and like how Mercedes updated their interiors on the GLK's in 2013. The gear shifter getting moved to the steering column might take a little getting used to and hopefully I wouldnt mistake it for the windshield wiper lever but I knoll I could get used to it. I think the GLK is one of Mercedes recent homeruns with regards to styling and reliability. I cant wait to find one within those years and test drive it.
a glk is a ugly car for me and many others.
@@Nitroat-xo4tjI love the bold look. I think the RX is fugly so I bought a GLK instead lol
@@SoulStar47 fair!
Just got one, coming from an accord, I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure you get a 14 or 15, there was some problems in the m276 balance shaft in 13 and early 14. I picked up one with the amg package and the wheels look so slick. Gives it a rougher more rigid ride but that's great for the street. I got a rwd since I maybe see snow 4 times a year and I'm in a city. Also it cuts down on weight, tire wear, there is no transfer case to leak which is something that has been a problem. My two annoyances with the car is the starting wheel doesn't go low enough to drive with my knees, also it is very had to find one with projector headlights over regular halogen which I find odd that for a 2015 was something it had. Also it is very hard to tell the trim packages apart and most dealerships descriptions of the car are lacking. It was easier to shop by what wheels it had/the larger sensor pod in front/ and the lack or presence of buttons on the dash. Also the ones with real leather seat will have sort of angled stitching on the doors. I think the one I have has about 75% of all the options available. The sound system that comes with it stock is very nice too, I have some nice tweaters and 6.5" that could fit this car and I dont think ill even bother.
Another great video, Mark👍. I always love the GLE and especially the G-wagon, but at the end of the day, i would pick the lexus/toyota SUV for peace of mind.
Thanks so much for watching and yes I Hear ya, some pretty vehicles, but nowadays we have to be careful where we spend out cash. Have a great holiday.
Watching from Australia 🇦🇺 great reviews
Awesome! Thank you!
Just came from hondas for the last 20 years. Couldnt find anything that wasn't a complete bore in a wagon or small SUV/hatch. Started shopping by engine instead and landed on a 15 GLK 350, loved it found one with 43k on it with the AMG package. Completly unexpected since I've always written off MB, but it has a solid sort of ridgid ride I like and smooth and consistent power. Also the interior in all black with the black wood trim is gorgeous
Yes sometimes a little fun is worth the cost of servicing
@@ECPP I'll put the time in and work on it myself. Seems like anything that could need replacing or whatever is either on the front or top of the engine and there is ample space in that engine bay, especially if you take that front fan out.
I bought my 2013 GLK 250 BlueTec new and still own it now because it has run very well and has no issues other than emission related problems which were always coverred by MB warranty. It's now 11 years and 220k, still looks new. I also had a 2009 Toyota Rav4 for 12 years, comparing two, I have to say GLK is far better than Rav4 in term of design, material used and build quality.
Older mercedes vehicles are more reliable.
Good job Mark. ❤
Yes they are!
Drove a new 2014 E 350 off the Keyes in Van Nuys, I put 115K miles on it by February 2022. Those W212 engines are incredibly reliable, it never left me stranded even in extreme weather conditions from the Las Vegas desert to the Washington state winters,I drove it hard like hard on! 😂 😂 It was fun to drive and fun to pass people going uphill at 100mph 😂. I would also get it serviced at a Benz only shop.
Great video bro.
Thank you very much
Id love to hear your opnion in the glb!
We had a 2015 GLK 350 but father sold it in a couple weeks. The interior suffered from electronic and functional obsolescence. Seats didn't go back far enough either. Ride was jittery low speed and felt kinda tippy.
What is your thoughts on the 2020 E450 I love it
Classic SL 500 is an icon absolutely stunning and will only go up in value.
Very few issues and turns more heads than most anything offered from Mercedes for years!
Easy to service and runs forever 😁❤️
The new SL is drop dead gorgeous …my dream car
I'm a Benz enthusiast from Nigeria. My dad owned only benzes and now I'm following suit. Nothing on 4 wheels can hold a candle to a Mercedes. Trouble is owners try to skimp on maintenance.
Prestige, power, innovation, reliability, ruggedness, speed and stability all built in.
Mercedes invented the car and knows more about making cars than any other car maker on earth.
Simply the BEST
What Benz did your dad have and what are you using as your daily driver?
What do you think of the CLA 250 in Nigeria?
My 2015 W166 and 2016 S212 so far have been solid.
What do you think of he 2012-2014 CL Class? I am looking to ge a CL 550.
I've always liked the GLA, perfect size and ride height for a single or 2 people
True it’s not a particularly large vehicle but it works
@@ECPP I personally don't like huge vehicles but I also like to sit slightly higher up, it helps me get a better view of traffic
Take a breath dude! In the past I’ve wondered where you get your information from but I like what you had to say about my car the CLS.👍🏾
What CLS you got?
2013 CLS 550 4Matic
@@vincentwhite775 how long have you had it? How much miles you get it at and what is it at now? I’m really wanting to buy one.

Love all the CLS class cars👍🏻
C63 W204 here.. not the most reliable car but definitely the most fun and best sounding car🔥
Agreed and in my opinion the best all around AMG thus far
2008 E350 4 Matic is bullet proof . I’m sitting at 165,000 miles. Nothing major has happened . Just certain parts failed like the fuel pump . But remember old car parts need to be changed sometimes ! Have back of money saved for maintenance!
bought 2017 w 205 and when you apply brake create very noisy sound and that the way it is unable to repair it
Any thoughts on the purchasing a 2014 Mercedes Benz CLA200 with 50kms on the odometer
I'm looking at a 2016 CLA 250 so I'm curious also
Thoughts on a 2016 e350?
How about Cls 63 w218 does it have good reability?
I think 07-09 E Class one of the most reliable seen them going way over 200k miles they're built pretty solid tbh
Mercedes have usually been ahead of their time. Thanks Mark.
Very true!
im thinking about getting a 2017 AMG E43
I have a 2015 x156 gla with 180k miles. I’m second owner
Only issues I’ve gotten was a alternator that went bad (because I jump started it on a dead battery too long) and my power steering went dead due to said dead battery
Both very easy fixes. No other issues
What do you have to say about 2016-2019 or 2020 GLC300 or 43?
Interested in your thoughts, best new MB to buy 2024? Thank you
E and S class for quality
4 engines that are the most reliable to me ever for Mercedes. I know it’ll be a sin because there are other ones but I have personal experience with these 4 motors. M112, m112k, m113, and m113k. Currently have the m113k in my CL55 AMG. Talk about bullet proof, currently has 110,000 miles so not bad considering it’s a 2003. SLK32 AMG, has the m112k. Yeah I pushed that motor to almost 300,000 miles. Only thing I had to swap was a crankshaft position sensor and supercharger pulley bearing. That’s it, regular maintenance and that thing ran like a champ. I don’t understand why these motors weren’t mentioned. Instead he talked about the chassis. It’s fine but if you get a m156 in an E-Class instead of the m113k even the m157 is not bad in the reliability category. Gotta go more into detail then saying a whole class of car.
Nice
Well…just pulled the trigger on a 2011 MB C300 Luxury model with 88K miles. Immaculate condition for under $9K. My fingers are crossed that there isn’t something super expensive lurking! I had a 2008 Volvo C70 that had the electronic steering lock fail, so I’m a bit paranoid, as I see that has been an issue with these cars as well.
Hi there
I’m looking to buy a 2019 e53 amg .
Is the e53 reliable?
Thanks
Yes
My lady has 2019 A Class and it has been great 🎉
Thats great to hear for sure.
I had an A250 2019 with some problems inside the 2º cylinder with only 24k miles. I changed for a new one. It is a fantastic car but i disagree about realiability. For now mine is ok 👍
What about the 3rd gen ML 350/ 2016-2019 GLE 350 with its naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 & 7-speed automatic? That would probably be very reliable long-term engine & transmission-wise
The ml 350s are known to be quite reliable, after that they messed around when they introduced the gle
I'm European, so I can't say about the GLE 350, but we do have a very late 2018 GLE350d. 4 years and 120k ish miles without any major issues, of course the usual oil leaks that don't seem to have a reason to exist, only for it to disappear just as unexplainably as it started, leaving the mechanic scratching his head. But nothing that would leave the car sitting at the side of the road.
Another thing that is a bit annoying is that if the engine is off, and the hazard lights are on, the battery dies in about 30 minutes, so no unlimited parking everywhere. Probably an issue with this car in particular though.
Any thoughts on buying a 2017 B-Class 250e?
Please cheers
Bought a brand new 2023 Mercedes E450 last year. Obviously I don’t expect anything to go wrong in a year. It’s got a lot of stuff but all the techie gadgets like seat, warmers, and massage and all that stuff that you don’t really get your stainer car kinda has me worried about most electronic issues and I get it things break overtime but I’m hoping I don’t have some infotainment screen issue that I literally need and then have them give me a price tag of thousands of dollars to fix. I’m keeping a low mileage just in case but not the warranty does much pay for this car to be daily driving it all in all I guess like with everything if you just take care of it then ittl last longer
People who've never had a Benz forget it please, you do not know what it is like dealing with all of that stuff concerning maintenance and repairs, reality is quite different, at least you do not care end up being broke. If you are not an enthusiast, please do not risk it all.
I just bought a GLK after hearing this review and a few others reinstating its higher reliability rating. I read at least 60 comments from owners who love theirs! Besides, I think the RX is ugly and prefer the bold prestigue of the GLK.
I have 2009 GL550 if u could squeeze that into a video
I absolutely loathe SUVs but if I had to buy one it would be a GLK. There was a lot of utilitarian charm in that vehicle. If it wasn't for the issues with that generation of diesel I would have preferred the 250 over the 350 for the added fuel economy, but I'm still going to stay with my sedans regardless. A CLS could be in my future if I can't find a reasonably priced XFR because they are a lot of fun.
You can delete the emissions system on the 250 for $2800. Once that’s complete you can run basic Shell Rotella T6 oil and save a few bucks on maintenance
I have a 2014 GLk 350 for sale. 88000 miles asking $15k.
I’ve been looking at the gla 250
I bought a 2009 e350 4matic recently with 80k now have 90k with no issues crossing my fingers
Is a 2017-2023 E 450 coupe reliable ? I'm looking forward to owning one.
Same question for me too🤣 even a 53amg for more data. But on most forums noone is complaining
How about the 2013 ML250? Does it have a good realibilty?
No
W204 facelift the 2012 model is a tank easily can run 200k miles
Yep
The last best Mercedes were built between 1997 and 2005. I own a 2005 E320 (Love It) and am looking for a 2000 CLK320.
Very nice
Looking at buying a 2010 S550 swb 5.5L W221. 25 368 miles. Its practically brand new for a price that is 3k less than a 2010 E550 with 55k miles. Is this a bad idea? The owner of S is an older lady that also has all the service records of oil changes etc. It seems way to good of a deal to be even be true.

Can you make a video on BMW 430i 2022 reliability please.
Yes I can but generally it’s not bad because of the newer B48 engine and bulletproof zf8 trans
My dad loves and drives mercedes since the 70s…. Never had any issues (all of them over 300k km)…. I had one (e350 w212 with 320k on the clock) and got a new one lately…. The 3.0 diesels are reliable and solid af…. If you take care of them they will run forever, the only thing that can fk up mercedes and almost all new cars is the overload of technology they recently got….
What is your opinion on a 4 cylinder W204?
M274 engine. The best one
Im about to buy a 2.2 gla sport 2017 are they good cars?
Well…..
Prefer the 'round' Hella spot lights on the earlier W204, they look muxh better quality
I am looking into a e350 or e450 2019-2021. I have done a ton of research over them in the past few months. Came to the conclusion from my research that I would be comfortable with the payment and maintenance. I don’t know anyone personally who has owned one, anyone have any major key points about them at all?
I have a 2021 E450 sedan and I have almost 38,000 miles on it and the only issues I’ve had were just a few little electronic things in the screen and the tail light but other than that, not one single engine problem yet. This is a lease so I’ll be getting the new one next year. 😊 the ride is silky smooth and just enough power. I’ve tried the E350 and it just doesn’t compare so I would say go with the E450. 🎉

You missed the best built/most reliable modern Benz. The final 2-3 years of the W212.
Well taken care of examples will do 400K miles. The diesel variants in Europe have done 600-700K miles.
W211 is better built then w212

That’s a widely used and pretty durable engine
You thoughts of 2019 GLC?
A little fragile, but overall reasonably reliable as its essentially the same vehicle as my 2018 C300 Coupe. Keep a good battery in it, run only premium fuel, and frequent oil services and itg should be good for quite a while.
Thanks 🙏 bro. I like Mercedes Benz
It's nice to see some improvement in M-B. My last M-B experience was a 2009 S550. Though it wasn't exactly problematic; but when I did take it in for service, any service, I came to loathe their insane repair costs for the smallest issues. Once you've been to the Service Dept, and the cheerie cashier had you "drawn and quartered", you get why l steer clear of Mercedes, especially for high mileage Limousine Work.
Take it to a non franchised Mercedes specialist that’s I do here in Scotland
@@ianmuir3640 True. In the limo biz, because of liability, I used a dealer. If you're in the jury box, and the ambulance chasing lawyer tells you how we got the cheapest mechanic in town to maintain the car that drove these little kids...Once that thought is planted in the jury's minds, uh oh.
You get the idea?

Yup, Mercedes Are Like Ladies, Style, Grace & Class, "Bellissima" !! 😉👌🏆💯
Couldn't agree more!
Cmon, those are NEW models of MB´s, full of cheap plastic. These models MIGHT be reliable if they are serviced/change every damn part that was badly engineered from the start, like crazy.
They havent got anything on the OLD models that actually were made RELIABLE from factory.
W123, w124, etc etc
Anyway, great video as usual Mark. Stay safe.
The Mercedes during the 90's were built like a tank but nowadays, it will spend more time in the mechanic than in your garage 😂
The 2016 S550 4Matic wasn't on the list. It should have been.
