The dresses were too short and many a-time looked too new (the youngest of the girls, who should have been given the clothes of the older sisters, ie dresses that looked worn and used). Hair should have been pulled back and in buns and bonnets, and if they truly wanted historical accuracy, small details like belt usage and skirt height along the waist should have been of the time and not modern-day ways to "synch" the waist.
u might have cringed, but this is just Maya and Kristen doing their usual shenanigans, they aren't embarrassed by it, I think its hilarious that this is what they chose to do in what is considered a "serious ceremony", loved it

aj pat actually, no, they didn’t really deserve it. The movie was spectacular, don’t get me wrong, but the costumes were incorrect for the family’s wealth and the time period. Plus, no bonnets. The hairstyles weren’t really correct, either.

Furthermore, its costumes took historical liberties, and that approach didn't affect the quality out of it (even without its bonnets, it still wouldn't make the difference of how these costumes are looked upon).
As a matter of fact, Little Women's Oscar win for the Best Costume Design, was rightfully justified and warranted.

i think the costumes were astonishing, great period costumes and all the same so modern and so coherent to the characters, I am really in love with them.

They did not show it in the film but they were rich and lost their money in gambling. Meg was the only one who remembered those riches properly. Dying bright colours was A trend back then that is why Meg dyed her clothes bright green. Greta also said that she thought all four were ahead of their time that is why they did not saw the use of wearing corsets and bonnets

aj pat I have to disagree. Lady Bird in my opinion is overrated. It’s has good things in it like Ronan and Metcalfs performance and the relationship between Lady Bird and her mom was good too but everything else kind of sucks. It’s so cliche and cheesy. Gerwigs directing was boring and there’s nothing visual interesting about it. I know a lot of people love it but it’s just not for me.

Also, it doesn't felt cheesy and cliched, and Greta Gerwig's direction isn't that boring, it was sharply refined (even in her solo directorial debut). While the visuals aren't that interesting, the story and the screenplay are the ones that are interesting and intriguing.

Diego Pisfil First of all Brad Pitt was absolutely Oscar worth did you see the scene where he’s high on acid. Second of all Joe Pesci is not Oscar worthy in the Irishman he is really overrated in that movie and Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were way better and finally this is about costume design not supporting actor.
@Diego Pisfil That's your opinion. While I agree that "The Irishman" is the better film, Pitt and Pesci both had phenomenal performances that showed off what they're fully capable of. Pitt just happened to be a smidge better than Pesci. But honestly, "The Irishman" gets the last laugh since it's getting a Criterion release.
