In 1968 when the Bonnie and Clyde movie came out EVERYONE was rooting for them and i really went insanely crazy about them (Faye Dunaway was a fox).Grama remembered them (i was7 or 8).Same way with Poncho Villa..we all rooted for Poncho Villa even tho he was against the United States.I would almost compare my infatuation to The Beatles...Lasting...

Boy, what a movie. Don't forget Gene Wilder "What type of work do you do?" Great scene. Wow, brings back memories. Why did they do what they did? They had no other choice. People had nothing during the depression and with no work available, no hope at all, then add the dust bowl. It's a wonder we didn't see more gangs of young adults roaming around then there was. Peace.

I am very aware of Bonnie & Clyde in history, but the last few days I've found that I've been bitten by the B & C bug.

I watched the whole doc and I must say it was probably the best doc on them. It cleared up a lot of questions I have had about their early backgrounds. It actually had some pics that I had never seen before. Personally, I think it wouldn't be good to let the kiddies see it, the pics are very graphic, especially the "morgue" pics. A must-see if you want the facts. Their backgrounds were thoroughly highly significant, especially what happened to Clyde in that bloody prison. He wasn't raped once, he was repeatedly raped by that other prisoner. I believe that's what put Clyde over-the-edge and was the main reason for being a cop killer. But when it came to their families, they really did care deeply and the money they would leave was desperately needed. It was the sign of the times. I'm surprised there weren't more young adults roaming the land causing chaos and destruction during that era. It was a daily struggle just to keep food on the table. I'm not making excuses for them but I can understand how they came to be. It was a bad time for all Americans and the young grew up to become angry adults. Those young adults of the sixties were amateurs compared to their earlier counterparts of the 20s and 30s. Peace.

My great grandmother was a widow with a child during this time. He husband was killed for $3 he had made chopping wood. She was a tough woman but she had to be . there was no food stamps ,no womens shelter. We are a spoiled society today

Everyone seems to be a critic...opinions about others they have no idea about their lifestyles or feelings endured. I think the are legends in their own right, defying obstacles others don't dare try for whatever reason. I just think the dedication of the risk and love they had was beautiful. Not all the other things..just their love and standing by one another. That is what im definitely seeing. All the other. Was yes wrong. But they paid for it, so people should see it that way and not degrade the deceased

I think it's pretty disgusting the way humans act sometimes -- being "excited" to see the dead body of a criminal. I don't get that at all. Those are the kind of people you never want to be friends with or invite them to your home!
I think its safe to say that Bonnie and Clyde went out with a bang! Its ridiculous that the law enforcement back then were such cowards that they actually murdered two people in cold blood even though both were outlaws. Its said that the law had been hiding in the brush along side the road for two days and two nights waiting for Bonnie and Clyde and a old friend set them up by makeing it look like his truck had a flat tire. (it goes to show even back then u couldnt trust a friend either) But anyways if the law waited 2 days and 2 nights what would if have hurt to wait a few more minutes for Bonnie and Clyde to get outa their car and Clyde probably would have been in a squating position putting the tire back on the truck and then the law could have easily rushed them and taken them both alive. Imagine how famious the law would have been then. Everyone of them would have had their pictures blasted all over the newspapers for capturing Bonnie and Clyde alive. Also i read that the car they were in that is filled with bullet holes is on display in a casino and the casino has been offered a million dollars for the car but they turned it down? I would have turned that down too thats one car that is priceless its the only one in the whole world. I would never sell it for any amount of money. Its a piece of history that even the wealthy cant afford.

Bonnie & Clyde were nothing like how people imagine them. They were not cold blooded killers. They were scared kids that spent all their time running and trying to survive. I don't get how people say it's wrong for them to shoot cops that are shooting at them, but they think it's completely fine for a whole group of cops to shoot them while they are unaware and unarmed. Bonnie and Clyde killed 13 (maybe less, since some of the murders they were credited for aren't backed up with any evidence) people in 2 years. That's less than just one of the cops have killed in a day. Bonnie and Clyde only killed people who threatened to kill or arrest them. Before any of the murders, when Clyde was only 20 he went to prison for unarmed robbery and auto theft. In there he got beaten and raped almost nightly. The man who raped him was the first person Clyde ever killed. That's what caused the turning point. That's what sparked his violence and fear. Once he got out of prison he would rather die than go back. They aren't these blood thirsty hellraisers that are just trying to rob and kill. The cops had been after Clyde ever since he was a boy and they never let him go straight. Bonnie and Clyde spent all their time running from the police. They didn't live glorious criminal lifestyles. They slept in their car and in the woods and wherever they could hide. The only way they could eat was by stealing money, since they were both dirt poor. People exaggerate their crimes way too much. Almost everyone they met thought they were nice or they felt bad for them. Bonnie and Clyde also left money for people who helped them out. Clyde has written about how he prays that the towns they pass through forgive them, and how he prays that god will let him live to visit his family again. He wrote about how he didn't want to hurt anyone but if he had to shoot to live that's what he had to do. I doubt anyone is going to read this whole comment but it's important anyways. Stop spreading false facts about how they killed everyone in their sight and how they were evil at heart. I know it's not as interesting that they were just people who got caught up in something they couldn't escape and spent their “crime spree” running and hiding, but it's the truth.

Loved bonnie what a sexy women
Do not glorify these criminals. Plenty of poor people find their way out of poverty without murdering innocents. Don't mistake a compelling story about a couple of murderers into a Robin Hood tale about a couple of hardly done-by heroes.

When Clyde met Bonnie, she was Bonnie Thornton, not Parker. She was married at age 15, to a gas station robber who was in prison, when she took up with Clyde. So it was not mentioned in this film, it made a better story that way.
She didn't change her name, though. She always went by Bonnie Parker and that's how she was referred to in the papers and on wanted posters. She never divorced Roy Thornton.

I do not understand why they have to romanticize the bad man maybe because America was started by people who were honestly being thrown out of their own countries for being the bad man so maybe there was something about it in our DNA I hate Bonnie and Clyde I hate what they represent I feel sorry for the people that killed instead of glorifying The Killers we should be eulogizing the victims I cannot stand their family who supports them believes in them and to this day lies for them. They were no different than anybody else who suffered through the depression. I've had therapists ask me why didn't I become everything that the statistics say I would because of the life I had as a child and I said because no one no matter what they did to me no matter what I suffered was going to make me any less of a human being any lesser of a human being and no one could ever make me a criminal. These are just two very bad people who when they got together just fed off each other.

His life is way more interesting than these two bums . Him one other Texas Ranger and three State Policemen shot them full of holes with high powered semiautomatic rifles .
