Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (October 1, 1910 - May 23, 1934) and Clyde Chestnut Barrow (March 24, 1909 - May 23, 1934) were an American criminal couple who traveled the Central United States with their gang during the Great Depression, known for their bank robberies, although they preferred to rob small stores or rural funeral homes. Their exploits captured the attention of the American press and its readership during what is occasionally referred to as the "public enemy era" between 1931 and 1934. They are believed to have murdered at least nine police officers and four civilians. A photo of Parker posing with a cigar came from an undeveloped roll of film that police found at an abandoned hideout, and the snapshot was published nationwide. Parker did smoke cigarettes, although she never smoked cigars. According to historian Jeff Guinn, the photos found at the hideout resulted in Parker's glamorization and the creation of myths about the gang. The 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde, directed by Arthur Penn and starring Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway in the title roles, revived interest in the criminals and glamorized them with a romantic aura. The 2019 Netflix film The Highwaymen depicted the law's pursuit of Bonnie and Clyde.
At approximately 9:15 am on May 23, the posse were still concealed in the bushes and almost ready to give up when they heard the Ford V8 Barrow was driving approaching at high speed. In their official report, they stated they had persuaded Ivy Methvin to position his truck along the shoulder of the road that morning. They hoped Barrow would stop to speak with him, putting his vehicle close to the posse's position in the bushes. When Barrow fell into the trap, the lawmen opened fire while the vehicle was still moving. Oakley fired first, probably before any order to do so. Barrow was killed instantly by Oakley's head shot, and Hinton reported hearing Parker scream. The officers fired about 130 rounds, emptying their weapons into the car. Many of Bonnie and Clyde's wounds would have been fatal, yet the two had survived several bullet wounds over the years in their confrontations with the law.

It’s a very interesting story, and I appreciate all the work you did to take us to these sites. But I think it’s important to remember that this immoral couple and their gang killed 12 innocent men. Their wickedness meant that children never saw their fathers again and had to grow up never knowing a father’s love and support. Their wives and girlfriends lost the men they wanted to grow old with. Their parents had to bury their sons before them. Dozens upon dozens of lives were ruined because of the selfish actions of Bonnie and Clyde. I hope they are never given the glamour of being buried side by side. How mind blowing it is to read people defending them.

We felt safe there yes. Basically walked along the golf course. I wouldn’t go at night, but we felt fine 😎✌️

I was surprised at how biased the reporter was in the funeral footage, especially in the footage of Bonnie's funeral. He crucified her even though countless reports stated that she never committed any crime. She just went along with Clyde because she loved him.

It was probably the time and place when he made that report. Different time back then. Thanks for watching!

Bonnie was not so innocent. When she couldn’t find work she was a prostitute. She was a heavy drinker and stayed drunk a majority of the time. She was a loud drunk and when she died she had syphilis. It was very well know that she gave most of the Barrow gang syphilis. It was even said that she gave Ivy, the guy that set them up , syphilis also. Clyde was aware of some of it and hated that she would do this when he was asleep and stayed up drinking with the gang. My great grandmother was a seamstress and loaned Cummie the dress that she wore to Clyde’s funeral. My great aunt said that my great grandmother was mad because when she did eventually get it back it smelled and was filthy. She also said that when she fit the dress on her she had holes in her underwear. When she got it she just looked it over and threw it in the garbage.

I dont find anything online saying she was a prostitute where do you find this infact ive herd she could have took that choice as alot f women did but never herd of her being a prostitute or sleeping with other men im sure clyde would have killed them
