- On this week's Sunday Vibes we debate the best players in each position this season!
The likes of Alisson, Yan Sommer, Guglielmo Vicario and Gianluigi Donarumma have all had excellent campaigns in goal, but who has been the best? Who has been better out of Saliba, Van Dijk and Gabriel? And who makes it into the attack out of Foden, Bellingham and Saka?
There is also a serious debate to be had in midfield, with Declan Rice, Rodri, Hakan Calhanoglu and Granit Xhaka all enjoying career-defining seasons!

Foden more consistent than Saka and Salah is crazy enough, but him on the right? Over the 2?!
He’s not more consistent than them that’s the funny part
He definitely is, inleast this season.
Foden doesn’t perform for England like Saka does though. 😅
all three are amazing, just saying this is fodens best ever season yet saka and salah have more goals and more assists in less league appearances
@@matthewwils Saka has 4 pens and Salah has scored from 5, and Saka is actually outpermoning his output of last year where if you watch football you'd realise he was loads better then. G+A ≠ Performance necessarily. Foden has definitely been better than Saka, Salah is very debatable.
Sam would of some how argued for a full Chelsea 11
A lovely way to start any Sunday
Guys, the disrespect to Salah here is crazy! If your life depended upon a result there is no way you're choosing Saka above Salah! Levels between them still.
they mostly focus on stats no what the eye sees. Dougie said in the summer that diaby was clear ahead of bailey.
At this point in their careers, I'm picking both Saka and Foden over him in any match situation. Saka has proved it this season and Foden is simply a better all round player
how is it disrespectful? nobody is denying that salah was on fire before 2024, but if you’re gonna chose him you have to ignore the last 3 months of football all together because he’s been at afcon, then injured and even since coming back from injury he’s clearly not at his level cos he’s had 1-2 good games so far this year. nobody is denying salah is better, but if we’re gonna base it off of entire season so far then it’s unfair to pick salah when he’s barely been a part of the liverpool side for over 3 months
@@studentloandebt7598my brother salah is a player propped up by stats. This guy does not pass the eye test 😭
Salah is just an absolute output machine. He can be missing for 75 minutes of a game but still register a goal and an assist. He’s an FPL legend for that reason but his influence on games has definitely waned.
Thanks for the content guys. It is greatly appreciated, keep up the good work. You are doing wonderful work ❤
Nice one lads
Love to see gigio getting some love on this channel
Witsel needs a shout for that center back position, been atletis most consistent player this season
I'm digging Dougie's 90's Friends shirt.
Very interesting
Florian wirtz deserves a massive shout at AM.

Hard to tell but was there someone else in the video alongside McCub? Felt like I heard this different voice for 10seconds every 20minutes but maybe my hearing isn't what it was.
You are schizophrenic
Foden more consistent than saka is wild
I mean it's not that wild. foden has been city's best player this year, and saka hasn't been consistently good throughout games despite him routinely getting g/a
@@somethingsomething2919 foden had 4 goal involvements in 12 games between Sept and December talk to me more about consistency. Just because he's been city's best player, which he hasn't, doesn't mean he's been more consistent than saka.
He has been more consistent?
@@davidmurphy2388mate goal involvements are not the only metric for consistency and if thats how you measure the value of every player then i don’t really know what to say. Foden plays way deeper than saka and you know that, arsenals winger are naturally going to going to get more goal involvements than a player like foden who moves all over the pitch and likes to drop deep. And if foden hasn’t been city’s best player then Im curious as to who you think has been. Because haaland hasn’t been clinical at all this season and de bruyne has been injured the vast majority of the time. Its almost as if people only look at goal involvements now and ignore every other factor.
@@sambrown8301 that's fair enough but when it comes to attackers it's probably the most important, what has foden been more consistent at Saka at? It's not key passes or progressive passes passes received either. I just don't understand the narrative. Rodri would be the clear candidate for city's best player imo.
Honourable mention for Pulisic at RW. Been very consistent and has helped free Leao up a little recently. The upgrade over Messias/Saelemaekers is insane.
The problem is deciding whether you need a wing back or a pure LB or RB … grimaldo and dimarco both have good stats because of where they play.
Theo Hernandez has 5 goals and 10 assists in all comps playing left back (and also centre back for some games) whereas Dimarco has 5 goals and 8 assists playing LM or LWB 🤷♂️
This right wing section has be one of the most shocking things ive heard in a minute, Salah is perennially underrated
Judging how ballon d’or awards are based on trophies won; over individual brilliance; if Arsenal and England win stuff this year does that mean rice and Saka are winning the player of the year ? Even as an Arsenal fan this doesn’t feel right I love the players I can’t honestly say they’re the best player across the world atm
It's great all we need is Dougie and Mccubin for a douzie of an episode
British football pundits: Salah has better numbers than Saka or Foden in less time. But Saka is available more. So he''s had the better individual season! What? Please get your England bias straight. Salah consistently delivers better numbers year in year out.
On football CZcams, english bias is the most consistent thing.
Saka is very very good, but Salah is clear of Saka, Arsenal as a team might be playing better then Liverpool, but Liverpool`s slightly worse performance isn`t a reflection of Salah.
even last season when everyone claimed that Saka had over taken Salah, even though Liverpool were terrible and Salah arguably had his worst season in a Liverpool shirt, he had more goals and assists then Saka.
@@thetruth4654 Luckily people know how to look past the first two statistics that come out on a screen 🙏. His importance in build up and creativity proven by so many metrics is invaluable and much greater than salah's
Not even mentioned rudiger specially after talking about constant change in CB partner for van dijk
No Palmer shout, but a shoutout to Yamal is funny to me lol
Half of Palmers goals are penalties
@@bluemoon1716 didn’t realize pens didn’t count as goals now
Also didn’t realize 25 goal contributions in the hardest league in the world in a players first ever full season is an easy task
@@jeffreywills6068 they do its just not as impressive. He's Chelsea's pk taker.
I was all on board for most picks until the Salah/Saka argument. All of Mikey's positives given to Saka apply to Salah just as much if not more so. Salah even having missed 5/6 games in the prem has still got the highest xG/xA. At the time of his injury he was top goals and top assists in the PL. 22 games 15 goals 9 assists for Salah, 27 games 13 goals 8 assists for Saka. I know who I'd rather have in my team.
Probably not the best in his position, but Kroos has quietly been having an amazing season at CM (kind of holding) and is worthy of a shout
No shot this if GDs first full season at PSG, I had to check when this video came out, feels like he’s been there for an age

Sommer deserves recognition. He’s been one of the most underrated keepers of the last decade or so
Dougie please give that shirt away 😅😅 It looks so big on you, first time ive ever thought hey dougie whats happening today??😅
Great video once again guys, always a joy to listen to you two while im working!! Grreetings from Portugal

I think Dalot deserves a shout for right back. Been amazing for Utd this season.

SALAH got injured for 70 days to give SAKA a chance to catch up with his G/A & he STILL couldn't 😂
Yea man he’s also 9 years younger than him the fact he’s even getting these comparisons at his age is crazy have some respect.
@@aze4964 a 22 should perform better than a 32 lol

Yes, Dimarco has been the best left back!
Grimaldo
Its not a curve ball when Ben White has actually been the Best Right Back in the league this season. Sometimes with Arsenal players it seems like they must work 10X as hard to get recognition. Its not even a question really. Ben White has to be in the team.
12:20 Hope this video doesn’t get a copyright strike for having the tv on in the background.
I’m confused how Gordon and others have been given honorable mentions. Saka and Salah are great I agree, but why does Palmer not even get a mention? This is insane. I think he is unfairly being overlooked just because he is playing at Chelsea. He is on the same output as Jude from what I understand and been one of the most influential players out there. Just stepped from barely much senior football at city to playing every week for Chelsea basicslly and being our best player. Genuinely wouldn’t be upset if he didn’t get in this team, but the fact I didn’t even hear his name get mentioned or be argued to be in the team is insane.
Waaaah waaaah
bastoni needs a shout out
Carvajal??????
Probably not the best but I think Dalot has quietly been excellent this season. Consistently good in a chaotic team
Jules Kounde deserves a shout for his performances at RB despite not liking the position
I loved the entire video. Also, Lunin has been RIDICULOUS
edit: The premier league bias is insane. You literally mentioned 6 Premier League right backs, even 1 Championship right back, and Carvajal didn't even cross your mind till way later despite being a rock defensively while also scoring the same amount of goals as THE BIGGEST TALENT SINCE MESSI Lamine Yamal in La Liga
Has there been an explanation as to why a lot of people left FD? They are all on Zac's own channel now, so it doesn't look like they have quit making content, they've just quit FD?
Yes it’s been explained multiple times
@@Josh-sn8ve where and what was it? I've heard the individual reasons. Hamill to athletic, pat to focus more on his psychology (?), ciaran to do his own stuff... But apart from Hamil they are all on Zac's own channel including Henry (who I don't recall hearing anything about). Seems very odd or at the least extremely coincidental since they were all apparently stepping away from football content creation.
yes, there's been an explanation in the comments on every video for 6 months because people won't shut up about it. Keep up mate
@@nathanfranklin1151 if they’re not on FD anymore it’s either because they’ve been let go because of cut backs or moved to Saturday social on sky

If Salah were an English, there wouldn't even be an arguement.
Jude Bellingham has been on a mad ting this season. And what a perfromance he put against Braziu last night.

Wild to someone who doesn't watch them
@@sfb4144 watch most games city play in and I watch every Arsenal game start to finish there is no argument for foden over saka underlying numbers or overlying numbers only thing foden does have is aesthetically his dribbling is more pleasing while being less efficient then sakas
Cause it's true
Palmer has to be there joint with Bellingham with goals and assists, has scored and assisted in more games than any other player
Half his goals are penalties
Whilst I disagree with the Salah analysis, it's fair enough to say he can't be considered because he has missed so many games due to injury.
What I can't get is why minutes after that you try to push for Vinicius Jnr who has also missed almost as many games due to injury himself. This one very annoying thing about football analysts. The lack of consistency in how they present arguments.
It's all about context - the quality vying for the left-wing spot wasn't on the same level as Saka, Salah or Foden. Any of them would probably have beaten Vinicius if they put up the numbers they have from the left.
[Michael]
@@FootballDailybut none of the competition has been better
@FootballDaily what about the context of Salah in the premier league being 3rd top goal scorer, 2nd in assists and having created the most big chances despite missing so many games? You didn't mention that bit but instead said "he hasn't been impressive" this campaign.
Like I said, inconsistencies is arife when it comes to football analysis.
@@JR-sj1jz especially when you account for Saka's form in the 1st half of the season.
@bri1085 recency bias. Definitely a lot of that happening. Even saying context matters is a bit of a cop out that. Because it can then be said about any player.
Everything goes through him but he doesnt have the best numbers
The bias is real
He does more work because he has to do more work and still cant reach salahs numbers
McCub off a 30. Bro is genuinely tweaking on camera.
The overanalysing is killing FD. Picking saka over salah is crazy and the reason FD is slowly dying. Everyone watched you because of your real and accurate analysis.
Gabriel is the key to Arsenal
Nothing about international football/EURO 2024?
Arsenal PSG champions league final before Mbappe moves to arsenal to become the next Henry ( I’m delusional)
Wow so this channel has now become only Monday and Sunday vibes… what happened? :(
Foden, easyyyyyy
Foden “ big goals in big games “
Mentions a crap Utd side and a relegation threatened Brentford .
What has he done against Liverpool, arsenal, villa , spurs the best sides in the league.
Nothing
scored against spurs. Has 11 man of matches this season. Saka only has 3 MOMs. He is on pens and did nothing v villa or city. Scored a tap in v liverpool and did not play very well. Scored a pen v spurs and has got most of his G/A against worse. teams🤫
@@AbbasAbdulRaheemMuhammed who decides man of the match ? Couldn’t beat spurs
@@Tom-ml3nh neither could arsenal beat spurs. He has got 11 MOms from match sponsors on seperate occasions and 3 for saka. also he has got the best sofascore rating on 11 occasions if you know what sofascore is. MAY I ADD that brentford are a team big teams struggle again and foden won us that single handedly. United are also 6th so they are not that crap are they
Lads I love football daily but I have started watch Zach's channel
Why all bro does is talk about Chelsea and How Good they can be. I only watch for Pato 😂
RESPECT SALAH
Never understand the love for VVD, I see him make small mistakes most games in the prem, see him yell at his own players because of bad situations caused but him and I see high profile mistakes such as the one against Arsenal, yet he’s best ?
If you're going nitpick to that extent then there's no hope. There are no better players in his position, and in the Premier League you could stretch it to all 32 years of the league.
@@bri1085 isn’t that the point of being the best? It’s that you don’t make mistakes? That mistake could cost Liverpool the title and it came from “the best goal keeper in the world and the best CB”. Just saying that this season Gabriel has scored more goals, kept more clean sheets and been the best CB in the prem this season.
@@hybomber1245 Gabriel scored an own goal that same game after Saliba made a mistake getting bullied in the air by Luis Díaz.
