Yassss the ultimate Polish Simmer crossover 😍
Yeah its so good to see ❤❤
Dude at 3:20 got shocked so bad his hair grew back
Electric stimulation? 😂
@@Marticore I see you got 10 points in logic 🌝
wig unsnatched
I love nerdy deep dives into sims 2. It’s so interesting to see the complex inner workings of the game
You both demystified everything, but the most surprising thing was multiple Sims learning charisma from a single mirror lol. I feel like I’ve tried this before, but I tend to have my mirrors in cramped little bathrooms.
Yeah, two Sims being able to learn from one mirror was the biggest surprise for me as well, I'll need to check it out lol
I’m shook, this is going to revolutionize my uni hoods
Marticore and April Black ?? A dream come true !
There's also the OFB talent badge effects! Like higher charisma skill means faster sales badge and higher logic skill means faster cash register badge.
I never knew this, thanks for telling us 😊
Really? I gotta check 😆
This was according to the Prima Guide
Then I gotta check even more, as the Prima Guide isn't always right
@Marticore I wondered about that, because the prima guide says that high charisma means jokes are accepted, which you refuted here.
"Avengers Endgame is the most ambitious crossover event in history"
April: Hold my The Sims 2: Complete Collection disk.
Gosh all of the flavor text and image is lovely. Maid popping out, sims 3/4 invisible pregnancy vibe. playful vs serious sims. I love it so much.

Btw if you live in brazil there's a high chance you could get eletrecuted while fixing the shower because we use electric showers haha.
The coffee table yoga... twenty years later, I still learn new things.
I can't believe Marticore died and April Black went insane from watching her burn up.
She was upset about the fire itself, not my death 😆
@@Marticore LOL
I love how this game turns 20 this year and we're still learning new things every days ! The code in this game might be a "bit" broken but damn it's deep
The crossover i needed
i can pass away peacefully now
Maybe wait a bit will ya
say less
this is my multiverse of madness
And yet again, even after thousands of hours playing this game and 20 years passing since its first release, I learnt something new about the game ♥
Two queens in one video? We don't deserve this
I love when people discover new things about The Sims 2 many years after its release, it aged like fine wine. Loved you both ❤✨️
I think charisma is _supposed to_ increase the chance of positive outcome of social/romantic interaction, it’s stated in the „practice speech” want. Maybe it’s broken, maybe they forgor to code it, but it was at least intended.
i think i have seen it mentioned on the fear of failing to tell a joke too
Feeling pretty proud that I have the same cc hair as marticore without trying to find it for once 😂😂
Where is it from? :3
And the curly hair?
It's 4t2, so probably either DeeDee or miniculesim. The curly hair Idk, I downloaded it along with April's simself 😅
@@Metzli honestly, most of the 4t2 conversions I have I found them through pinterest. Tumblr also very good for it
Never seen the failed flambé animation 😂 nice
Lol 😂
When April Black teases this collab I'm actually thought it would be in her channel but this is amazing as well
It feels like we'll never run out of things to find in this game even after 50 years, Sims 2 and Sims 3 truly are endless and Sims 4 could never catch up to them even with 100 packs.
4:25 - Random curiosity that came to my mind when mentioned that "you can't get electrecuted while fixing the shower", because my head jus went 'why not?', but in some countries, showers are actually electric.Like, the water is heated thanks to electicity, so you can actually get electrecuted lol.
I had no idea two Sims can learn charisma from the same mirror at once!
I did find out by chance that Sims can learn charisma with a mirror while holding a baby, useless multitasking!
oh it is disappointing to learn that charisma doesn't make my sim charismatic lol i wonder if there is a mod for that
At least there's sims 3 with the pretty-busted Charisma skill.
Two ts2 creators I like watching doing a Collab!
I guess level 10 mechanic sims not getting electrocuted makes sense, as we say in Poland, elektryka prąd nie tyka ^^
What does it mean?
Your video about "debugging" and explaining The Sims 2 mechanic is always great and helps us a lot. Thanks so much.
I hope one day you can also make an explanation video about roommates' mechanics. Bcs my roommates, every time he/she runs out of energy, instead of sleeping on the bed I provide, he/she choose to go errands, and magically fulfill their energy. And I'm curious, is this kind of specific "trait", or what? I remember seeing someone tell me that their roommate normally goes to bed every time they run out of energy.
I'd love to see a deep dive into the "roommates" mechanic. There's a lot of features there that I've never noticed. For example, I was recently playing a family in a crowded apartment with a roommate. He couldn't reach the exit to make his carpool to work, so he teleported outside, complete with blue magical special effects! Never seen that happen before
I need to get my sims a room mate.
This sounds fascinating.
Insane how we're still learning stuff about a game which is 20 years old!
I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT COFFEE TABLE YOGA OR SHARING THE MIRROR WHAT
How am I still learning new things about this game!?
I am too!!! It's bottomless
Your selfsims look so accurate!!
I wish you talk about social classes in sims 2. Is something no much gamers know, including me before this week 😅I love your videos and channel, greetings from Argentina 💞
I had no idea about coffee table yoga or the 2 sims on 1 mirror. Thank you both!
Coming off of an ADHD diagnosis a video about what cleaning actually does is gonna be very helpful
Thanks as always ❤
I wish this video was an hour long. This is my fav kind of sim video.
Pls pls pls guys explain how the sims 2 wants and fears work (how it chooses between wants, what influences it, when it re-rolls etc) (Ik april knows a lot about coding so that would help a lot)
To me, wants and fears are the soul of the sims 2 and a big part of why it feels like the game works like "a game" and not just a sandbox. Im just starting to learn programming and would take a long time for me to actual understand how it works, so I would love a video going in detail about it 🥺🙏🏼💛
I gasped when I saw April Black in this video, I love both of you guy’s sims 2 content so much. Great video as always
Marticore and April Black are the CZcams collaboration the Sims 2 community needs. Great video!
Great video. Now I know at least two things I didn't know before! I remember having one sim that had decent mechanical skill (at least 5 or 6) but would always stab things when "fixing" them. Therefore when she would fix the TV or the computer she tended to get shocked and then set the thing on fire. I think she was more of a mean sim so that's why she stabbed everything. thankfully she never died from it. Of all the skill I feel charisma is the most useless. Especially when running the Headmaster scenario, with a particularly grumpy headmaster. No matter how good my sims charisma is they always fail at shmoozing with him. Always!
Wow, none of my sims have ever sold a painting for over a thousand! Now I'm going to have to see if I can make that happen. And I never knew two sims could use the same mirror to gain skill either. Awesome! Even so another sim will walk into that room and shoo them out. Happens every time.
I AM SO GRATEFUL THE ALGORITHM LANDED THIS ON MY SCREEN, Y’ALL ARE DOING GR8
3:18 I didn`t knew that electric shock accelerates hair growth XDD
4:24 You can't get electrocuted by a shower
Brazilian showers: Am I a joke to you?
my two fav youtubers who focus on sims, this is a fire collab omg thank u two sm!!!!
03:09 Level 10 mechanical skill also attracts butterflies, apparently. I love that hidden detail.
Yeah 😆😆 The front wall of the house was destroyed, I think the butterflies loved that more
I had always assumed that Charisma made certain interactions unlock earlier, or be accepted with lower relationship score. I always seem to unlock "caress" way before other sims will actually react positively to it. :p
I thought that was based on chemistry 🤔
@@Marticore Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is. Not necessarily just romantic interactions though; I'm pretty sure some friendly interactions become locked/unlocked based on relationship. Of course stuff like friendly hugs, and I think Brag actually becomes unavailable if you're friends? Like I said though, it was just an assumption on my part. I could absolutely just be wrong 😄
Yes, relationship score is the base for which interactions are available, but I don't think Charisma has anything to do with it
@@Marticore Yeah, I guess I just expected it do... anything? And I just filled in what seemed to make sense. 😄
I'm not doubting what you found, for the record. Just sharing "huh, this whole time I thought it was like this" :)
After playing for years you suspect that charisma actually doesn't affect anything outside of working carrers. Since it is very easy to romance others sims, I think it should be harder and charisma would increase the chance of success, but the game has plenty of detail, so I think it doesn't matters that much.
Cheers for April Black, her videos are incredibly useful.
Collab of the decade actually
I love this video so much! Love how you recreated yourselves in the game ❤
This was awesome! I'd love to see more collabs between you two!
A real dream team! I love these videos that deep dive into the mechanics of the game
4:24 brazil 👀 "yes you can"
Brazil mentioned
thought about the same thing lmfao
was even thinking on learning how to create a mod to enable shocks when repairing showers
Wait, what? I think I need some context 😆
@@Marticore lolol we mostly use electrical showers
you guys livin' in 3024 or what
Amazing collab, I learned a lot 👏 Makes me more grateful for so many mods out there that improve the skill & personality systems, but even without those its clear how much more things matter in this game vs Sims 4 for example
Omg y'all finally did a collab 🤩you deserve more views
Thanks for this you both! Was a good watch and I learned things I didn't know which is so on brand for sims 2, having so much depth we are still finding out things 20 years alter.
crossover of the century
my 2 favorite simers together🥰
This was amazing, thank you so much!
the creativeness is the most impressive skill on the game
❤ this collab❣ Hoping to see more from you two, as you are both so awesome, and doubly awesome together❣
Also, just when I think I have learned all there is to know, I still walk away learning a thing or two. 👏 I never knew that 2 sims could simultaneously gain charisma at the same mirror...wild❣
Heyy Marta, your voiceover got so much better! Appreciate your content as always
LADY BLACK AND MARTICORE? I never thought I would want this.
Nice info and something I hadn't really thought of before. And brilliant crossover!
If I can make a suggestion, maybe the next collab between the two of you could be more of a conversation on a topic? Would be nice to see you interact more.
very nice video, didnt know those facts about cleaning.
kind of puts me in the mood to play again
I have so much to learn about Sims2.
Great collab 👏👏👏
Few general mechanics tests that I did on my own:
-Skills take linearily more to learn. Learning from skill 0 to skill 1 takes roughly an hour (from book), going from skill 1 to skill 2 takes two hours etc., meaning that getting from 0-8 skill takes as long as going from skill 8 to skill 10.
My exact experimental values were: 1h, 1h50m, 2h20m, 3h, 3h50m, 5h, 6h15m, 8h5m, 10h40m, 13h, with a total of 0-10 lasting 55h
(The best way to test it is to use the cheat that lets you drag your sims needs and start learning skill unaffected by personality from the book starting at exactly 12:00 and dragging sim skills up as they go down)
-Super Bookshelf (Teaching Carrer reward) ~doubles the learning rate, and Thinking Cap ~doubles it again, in practice increasing learning by 500% when used together, meaning you can go from 0 to 10 in about 11 hours.
-Lifelong Happienes on the other hand always takes ~6h to learn no matter if Thinking Cap is used or not.
-TV with "10 Fun" actually increases fun 2x faster than TV with "5 Fun".
-The AI preference which one to use seem to be mostly based on distance (ignoring walls, and higher floors counted an extra added fixed distance of like 10 - I don't fully remember the specifics).
-Beds have huge impact on the duration of the sleep. To me it seems that the sim is still "getting tired" even while sleeping, making the bed with 6 energy over twice as good as bed with 3 energy (cutting required sleep in half).
Time required to get full energy at different beds:
2 energy bed: 8h10m
3 energy bed: 7h10m
4 energy bed: 6h30m
5 energy bed: 6h20m
6 energy bed: 5h50m, 5h45m
7 energy bed: 5h25m
8 energy bed: 5h
2 energy (nap on chair): 12h+
coffin 4h30m? 4h50?
nap-on-chair experiment had to be stopped because the sim seemed to be close to dying of hunger while sleeping lol
Dunno what beds have to do with this topic, but when it comes to tougher learning at higher levels I figured that was obvious 🤔 Thanks for the calculations!
@@Marticore There could be a linear formula with a base (1h, 1h20, 1h40 etc.) or even an exponential one. Game maths are often overengineered, and the bedmath just made me notice how top quality bed has a bigger effect on quality of life of a sim than $100.000 mansion, and how my sims going to the university like to put double-person bed to their tiny rooms because they are the only ones with max energy.
For total meme efficency you can put the toilet and a shower to their room too 🤣
idiosyncrasies of the sims are just plain fun to me, and "the bed so good you have to sleep only half the time" for sure sounds like one to me lol
As well as reclining chair you can sleep on being a deathly trap, where if AI were to pick it to sleep in at low energy need - (not sure if that ever can happen) it being a death trap where they will sleep till they die lol
omg i'm here for this featuring!!! 😍😍😍
Omg! Best collab
11:44 all of these years and I never found that out !! *mind blown*
I wonder if it still applies to sims 3 and 4
omg best collab ever
I had a sim with high charisma skill get a lot of schmooze points (around 30) after inviting headmaster on a house tour but maybe I just got lucky 😅
I also thought it affected how sims react to dirty jokes cause they often seem to hate them. Mostly shy sims but they sometimes react positively so maybe it's random 🤔
This is off-topic, but speaking of headmasters, I noticed an interesting quirk about them. I play custom hood with antiredundancy mod, so only one headmaster. But I noticed every time his personality is different (maybe interests too). I also can't check his personality with Cyjon debugger, which is probably related to it changing. I noticed the difference in SimPE.
I think I saw it mentioned on MATY (or another forum) once, but not anywhere else.
Some sims don't have a determined personality and it makes it randomize every time they're loaded. There was a mention of this on some of the corruption-related videos. Here it sounds intentional, that you can't strategise by knowing what the principle likes. Sims with similar interests and personalities get along better.
My favorite sims CZcamsrs yessssssssss
the joint slay....
Great video!
I need April's hair cc so much
So that's what happens every time a kid tries to work out at the military career reward, he immediately maxes out the body skill. I had no idea what caused the bug.
when the faves interact
Omg you're serious?! I was looking for videos on CZcams answering this last week, and didn't find anything... and now, you are covering this in a video. Lucky me! :D
Wow! After all these years I had no idea Sims can burn themselves while attempting a flambé, that’s too funny! 😂
I love your vids!! & I love discovering more about this 20 year old game still to this day..
I have a feeling a high charisma level might boost your chances of success when schmoozing a headmaster? But not enough to be 100% sure!
Thank you for sharing this awesome video.
Charisma helps when you do small talks with the headmaster of private school
Awesome, I didn't know many of those things
two sims at one mirror, what :O
I've noticed that sims with higher charisma skills are better in selling interactions of OfB expansion
Such a cool collab, you should do more together ^^
high level logic also prevents you from getting robbed by the bon voyage thief
Painting is the most rewarding career I feel! As a challenge I made my sim just live on a giant lot with an easel and $0 simoleons. Tough start, but it didn’t even take a generation for the my sim to eventually accumulate $500k by the time he became an elder. I got bored lol. His paintings sold for about $2500 and with Open for Business each brought in about $5-6k.
OMG SLAY THE QUEENS ARE SPEAKING 💅😍
"You can't get electrocuted while fixing the shower, can you?"
Me: *stares in Brazilian 👁👁*
FYI: showers here in Brazil usually run by electricity
Yesss my two faves!!!
WHAT?! You can use mirror by 2 Sims at once?! Why did I learn about that 20 years after the game released?! I guess my brain was conditioned to think that because of Sims 1
About Cleaning, I'm not sure, but I recall years ago that my sloppy Sim who never cared about cleaning/dishes etc. started doing this stuff automatically after learning like 6-7 Cleaning points (thanks to Medical career).
And Playful Sims are not stupid. They just have weaker attention span that makes calm game of chess less effective. Maybe it even translates to real life cases, I wouldn't be surprised knowning Sims 2.
Oh, right. And that electrocution immunity during pregnancy is likely either a prevention of hunger killing pregnant Sims (considering how electrocution can lower needs) or a way to avoid myth that you could get Sparky life state if your pregnant Sim would get electrocuted (so baby would get superpowers 😉 ).
Hey look, two of my favorite TS2 nerds teamed up. 😊
"you can't be electrocuted while fixing the shower, can you?" 4:24
well, in brazil someone thought it was a really good idea to have eletric showers, so........
COFFEE TABLE YOGA 🤩 how come I spend hours playing this game and didn't know about this??😂
polish power
4:23 Brazilians having a % of chance to get electrocuted fixing a shower 💀
Most of the showers in Brazil are Electric heated shower
hell yea let's goooooo!!!!!!
also, in simpe there is a "romance" skill (i'm assuming this is the same romance skill that you can learn from the mirror), i wonder if this is really a skill and how it works.
I think this got replaced with something else in an expansion because they never actually used it. I've noticed that a Sim who was saved from death in my game had their 'romance' skill maxed out in SimPE, but everyone else's was empty.
Probably there were two separate skills in game development and the romance one got ditched at some point, leaving behind only the Practice Romance interaction that builds charisma. Interesting!
