Area zero can make palkia vstar do up to 380 damage if you and your opponent has a full bench which is obsurd

I just CANNOT believe that for the entire scarlet violet block they are just going to keep the same tera effect of basically being a self manaphy, no bench damage. Like what an absolute waste of a new mechanic, the variety that could have been between this ability and tera as a whole really puts me off the TCG at times. Like VGC did tera SO well this just feels like an entire missed generation for the cards, our mechanics are so dull and lame, especially compared to other TCGs. It is frustrating because pokemon is the one I want to love and play but at the end of the day it’s just such a limited game.
It would be so cool if you could Tera once per game and each ex card can one or two types it could Tera into printed on it

@@Po_ke_girl my initial idea was something like a Tera orb tool card, attach it to a pokemon, and it would read something like “The next basic energy you attach to this pokemon will change this pokemon to that type. It will have no weakness. You can only terastalize one pokemon per game” and BOOM you could have mimicked the game perfectly. I know balancing would have been more difficult but man would the variety have been fun!
They did the same with sun & moon almost completely skipping over z moves
And for God knows what reason, Pokémon refuses to give stuff like this actual support
Lapras can be dirty with Chien Pao and potentially Xatu if you could make that engine work together, but that would mainly be for one big buster move to end a game haha
At least Tera finally gets something.
It was so hyped and then they dropped the ball so dang hard when every single Tera just has the same effect of taking no damage on the bench.
Biggest miss opportunity ever
I always thought that it should have revived the break mechanic from XY. You could add new move/ability and now change type while keeping the moves of the previous evolution. It would have made the gimmick closer to what it is in VGC.
Stellar Tera ex-Pokémon are like 2-prize versions of the old Amazing Rare-mechanic (if someone still remembers that). The energy cost consisting of different energies is a huge enough drawback in formats, which demands very fast plays of the key cards to ensure the win. That's why even the Amazing Rares weren't that used, even if some of their effects were pure insanity.

I like the way the turtle looks with all the mixed energy colors. He’s pretty cool guy, but I’m really excited for the EV evolution I want to be able to shuffle stuff back into my deck. That’s hilarious. I could specifically target exactly what problem cards are on their bench and get rid of them.
I really like galvancula ex but the discard effect makes it a bit clunky. I also want to buld the ceruledge deck but i am not sure how it will fair.

Yeah, it could work well in some sort of an energy discard cycle deck, but I'm not sure of many good options for that deck in this current meta

While I agree the opportunity cost of cinderace is quite large given zard you did neglect to mention its free retreat cost meaning its 280 damage has very little downside
It's also the exact same damage and type of cerueledge which had me going 🤔 haha
@rainbowunicode8352 yeah but thats also discard all energy which is again something you don't have to worry about with cinderace. Ceruelege has a much better backup attack option tho
@@TempestDacine no yeah that's what I mean. It's weird to discount cinderace when you get 280 without discard, I get that it's a stage 2 but without discard seems like a big benefit
@rainbowunicode8352 admittedly stage 2s are always somewhat risky in terms of deck investment and as said if ur running a critical mass migh as well play zard/pidgeot

Blissey ex decks could benefit with a lot of these cards I already use cornerstone mask ogrepon. With happy switch you can move the energy around after gathering them with the new cards

Or combos like charisma + bounce off opponents active double attach and next turn energy attach
Ceruledge EX with some energy retrievals, superior energy retrievals, Crispins, Carmines, professor’s researches, pokestops, earthen vessels, and a deck full of energy seems like you might be swinging for a ton of damage

Sparkling Crystal and Crispin is going to be nuts for Dragapult. Xatu with those cards allows you to have 2 Dragapults set up for attacking in one turn

I'm only just getting back into the game since I dropped it around when s&m ended and I'm probably gonna try to have some kind of solid deck when stellar crown drops so I've been looking at stuff that could be interesting to run and I *really* wanna see if that Sylveon is gonna be reliable in any way. It just seems so fun to play but tbh I'm not sure what it could be paired with.

No, only once per turn. And you can’t use it on another Fan Rotom if you already used it that turn. He misunderstood it.
I'm pretty sure it is just once per turn, imagine being able to use it across the game and constantly grabbing noctowls to search whatever the hell you need, that would be way too op
While Sylveon ex does look a little bit disappointing, I will still like to give that card a try on TCG Live and and find a way to make it work (or at least try to).

I suspect Lapras will be a problem. 20 cards? If Lapras is commonly played, people could probably cheat easily or a lot of time will have to be wasted keeping each other honest.
