- Learn how to make body wash using melt & pour soap. This project is so easy to make and only requires only a few ingredients!
RECIPE: 250 grams melt & pour soap base, 500 grams distilled water, 100 grams [SLSa] sodium lauryl sulfoacetate. + 5-7% fragrance oil & .5-2% preservative
Sodium lauryl sulfoacetate (SLSa) serves as an emulsifier - giving the soap a smoother consistency & making it more creamy. Plus it creates additional suds, foam, & lather. [use sodium lauryl sulfoacetate, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium cocoyl isethionate, or sodium coco sulfate].
Add ingredients to a heat safe container & heat it to melt/dissolve ingredients. Boil mixture for a while on high heat to ensure ingredients are dissolved and to evaporate some of the water. The mixture will thicken as it cools. You can quicken cooling but you still need to let the soap mixture sit uncovered for 30 hours as it will thicken a lot more during this time. After, you'll have a the thick glob of soap mixture- this is the body wash base. Weigh how much base you want to use, then add 5-7% fragrance oil & .5-2% preservative. [For 500 grams of body wash base I added 35 grams fragrance oil, & 2.5 grams preservative]. Use a blender to emulsify the mixture. Start out with a thick body wash base as the fragrance oil is going to thin it A LOT It should be a good pouring consistency. Add more water to thin it or soap base to thicken it. **If you add additional water to thin the body wash, add more preservative, too.** Body wash should last at least 6 months - 1 year.
UPDATE: Someone pointed out the SLSa amounts are different in video VS here. The recipe in the description is always correct as I copy & paste it directly from my notes in OneNote. But this ingredient (like all of them) can be adjusted depending on what you want. SLSa can get quite expensive so the 100 grams (maybe even less) will be fine. However, if you wanted more suds & lather, add more SLSa.

Good Morning.
Thank you for this amazing video. I love your creativity.
How do you ensure it does not mix up before delivering to your client?
Thank you
Could you use mica powder diluted in water for coloring?
Could you use emulsifying wax instead of SLSA which I don’t have? If so do you have any idea how much emulsifying wax will be needed? Thanks
Nice
You are brilliant !!! I was wondering, can you use a soap bar graded up or chopped instead of melt and pour ?
Thank you for sharing 💕
Yes, absolutely. but for regular bar soap it takes a lot more water & you have to tweak the recipe a bit. I've been working on a recipe for a while. I will definitely post it soon!
I’m gonna try this!! Thank yu soo much. So how would I make it more sudsy
more powder surfactant like SLSa
@@CreativeBathLab woow thank yu for responding to me!!! Yu are the bomb lol and yu make beautiful everything ♥️
❤❤❤
How many oz of body soap does it make?
This is stunning as usual!!! Just a quick question - the recipe in the description shows 100g SLSa and in the video you use 150g - which would be the correct amount? Thank you for your awesome videos
So sorry for the discrepancy. and thanks for drawing attention to it. The recipe in the description is always correct as I copy & paste it directly from my notes in OneNote. But this ingredient (like all of them) can be adjusted depending on what you want. SLSa can get quite expensive so the 100 grams (maybe even less) will be fine. However, if you wanted more suds & lather, add more SLSa.
what can we use in place of slsa@@CreativeBathLab
Seems like a very complicated process. I personally would just make body wash from the get-go. also, what is the pH?
I never clicked a video so fast 😂
Can you do a project on shampoo and conditioner please and thank you. 😊
Yes I can
Thank you
