  • You will be able to see in this video how a neglected car looks like concerning the breather hoses. The hoses are made of rubber and if not changed with time the rubber becomes stiff which can lead to serious issues. The video shows the hoses on the example of an M102 motor.The hoses are cheap. I'm going to write down the number under which you can search the hoses and buy all four of them on ebay:
    No1:1020941987;No2:1020942187;No3:1020942587;No4:1020944882

    What am I talking about?
    My topic is the KE-Jetronic injection system which I try to demystify as much as I can.
    For all of you to understand the system in brief - Developed in 1973 and being mounted into cars up to 1993 as it went in history. But why these to letters!?(KE) K(from German "kontinuierlich" meaning continuos, without interruption) the MECHANICAL injection system on which the fuel starts flowing from the fuel tank sucked by the FUEL PUMP and delivered to the FUEL DISTRIBUTOR which sends fuel to the INJECTORS while the majority of it flows through the FUEL PRESSURE REGULATOR through its return line back to the fuel tank again. The letter E(electronic) has to mark the electronic sensors (the developement starting from early eighties) which had to inform the ECU about the current state of the engine so that the ECU(Electronic Control Unit) then could create current signal in mAmp(miliampers) and send it to four crucial components for the system - the EHA(the electro-hydraulic actuator,a unit consisting of a magnet, an electromagnet and a baffle plate) which had to fine tune the engine in each of its phases, the ICV(the idle control valve), the unit which was predicted for the engines perfect idle, the X11(the diagnostic socket) where the duty cycle(the ideal mixture) was adjusted and the X11/4(the code reader) - the socket which from any codes were read if present using an OBD1 scanner.
    An extraordinary injection system which could be fully repaired in your own garage using a multimeter and a pressure gauge only for its fine tuning, together with some common tools.

    Can u do a video about that whites connectors? That mine got lost and its not basic o coonector, it has some ways in that, so i dont know how to recreate something similiar

      Sorry for the delay. If you have lost a connector buy another one, I don't understand what I should say. Everything is self explanatory. 3 parts of the rubber hose and the fourth one underneath. The shorter part of the adapter goes to the left in the first part of the hose leading from the air filter housing. As for the rest, the arrows tell everything. It's really nothing hard.

      @@mercedeskethere is no site, where i can buy them. After some time and some question, i find out that i can only put some thing to that idle hose to not let air go there from that way and same on the other site. Car was running fine. That plastic is only to close that for the crank breath and as a reduction for regulator vent. You can fully block it and leave f. p. Regulátor vent lie there as it is

    yes as you can see here......in minute 6:06 you show the ICV hose that connects to the engine. In the middle there is a connector that have a small hose that goes to the pressure regulator......that connector is pointy in shape and have a small hole for air from the engine breather hole...Is it important for the ICV?...iv read it somewhere but i cant find it again... I closed that connector hole. And my ICV top hose does not connected to the Engine blow by hose and to the intake filer box.. my engine idles good but if i open that small connetor hole it will shake just a tiny bit...some sort of air from engine breather hose for the ICV through that connector.

      That's just a ventilation hose, they call it vacuum hose but there is no vacuum there. There is an australian guy that was showing that the hose serves just for ventilation.

      Hello, so u fully closed that hose? I lost this one connector and dont know what to do...

      @@asineprestanou5221 the pointy connector have 2 hole....the stick with hole pointing outside is for your fuel pressure regulator fail safe hose....cuz if it fails it will leak petrol and petrol goes back into the ICV (engine)....the other hole is on the pointy side for the ICV get outside air....ICV needs a little air from outside to help Idle better....you can close it for a while but for me (an automatic trans) it will idle a bit low....

      @makavelibenzze Před 5 měsíci

      on the U shaped ICV big hose...the other plastic connector, plug it off with a radiator stopper cap with 12mm inner dimention size...throw away the middle hose....and u can run ur engine fine....

      @@makavelibenzze so its kinda worthless 🤣
      Thanks god😅
      That plastic is just a stopper and reduction to the fuel regulstor vent, witch is worthless too? There is no air vacuum from that part to that bigger hose to the airfilter

  • @997turbo

    Are you sure at 6’06 you are right? I think the first part goes to the filter box, the second one to the engine and the last one to the icv.

    • @mercedeske
      @mercedeske  Před rokem +1

      So, the first one connects the air filter housing as well as the engine, the least straight one goes afterwards stuck in a plastic part between the two of them and the third one to the engine as well to the ICV. Maybe I made a mistake but that's how they go, written as in this comment.
