2nd trip was better than the first actually. Going back solo, I walked every Soi and finally knew my way around. Was so confused on the first trip with where things were. Like you said, no real internet to speak of and only tourist maps. If you could call it a map, oy! Great vid and thank you my good sir!

My trick was, on my 1st and 2nd trips, to make notes after every day. With juicy details. Let me tell you, now years later it is great fun to read these notes :) Thanks for the great videos mr Egg.
Yes, a few people used to do that when they did trip reports for the old Internet forums. If you’re disciplined to do it it’s OK.
3 rules that took me a few trips to figure out...
1. Have fun but don't get too attached to one girl (There are 5000 + other fun girls awaiting on any given day).
2. Repsect the Thai locals and never start trouble with them. It won't end well for you.
3.. Delete all Pattaya girl Line ID contacts in the taxi on the way to the airport. You WILL get the sick Buffalo text if you don't.
Yes, I strongly believe that Pattaya girls see the texting to and through as a kind of work and eventually they want compensation for asking you if you’ve eaten yet etc.

Spot on, my first trip was for Business to Bangkok, what a shock when taken out for dinner and showed the ropes. Every trip thereafter was leveled up a peg to continue the shock, until it reversed and I had navigated myself around to places the Locals didn't even know of. Then I discovered Pattaya, much more relaxed and pleasantly surprised. Have learned to keep my mouth shut now both back home, and in Thailand. I visit with some Buddies, but your right don't become their tour guide, rules are - split at anytime opportunity arises, then catch up in the morning for Brunch. One thing about Thailand is you are never an expert, always something new to learn and discover.

2002.went with a mate..his 2nd time..he hooked up with a girl from his 1st visit..she had a sister..Had an unforgettable time..Spur of the moment decision got us back in 2004.. Same hotel and bars..We weren't there a day and the girls turned up..After 2 years away it was like stepping back into the game where we'd paused it..More brilliant memories
It’s amazing how they are able to remember you and your friends after such a long time. I hear this all the time.
Each time I visit Pattaya the experience gets better and better.
The first time in Thailand was in August 2019 Now I Consider it more of a Recon mission.
I walked a lot and decided where I would stay next year. I loved the small hotel I was in beside Tukom.
I remember everything in more detail than the second visit because of c19 it was years till I could come back so I had those memories the longest.
The hotel did not make it due to shutdowns.ALL the bars I visited except for Windmill disappeared.
However, in Late 2022 I returned and found some places I really liked including LePub so all is great again.
I think I know that hotel.

I always kept the 3 day rule. 2nd trip had fewer overnighters for better hangover recovery. Met more great guys 2nd trip too.
Thanks for the comment. Personally speaking I don’t drink so I don’t suffer the dreaded hangover, and don’t do longtime either.
Personally i really enjoy going to Pattaya on my own so you are free to do whatever i want whenever i feel. Mix it up a bit on each trip dont follow the same routine on each visit and it will stay fresh and exciting for many years 😃

Hi Phil, yea had a great second trip last year in June however stayed in Jomtien at Soi Welcome but did come to Pattaya for beers and food, I’ll pop in Le Pub when I’m in Pattaya in July, all the best, Bruce in Wolverhampton.

1st visit was 2010 with my then thai wife who i jad met in the uk,it was our first visit to thailand so spent alot of time in bkk where she was brfore she had come t the uk and her home city of roi et,but after becoming friends with other enhlish /thai couples had heard of this mystical place called pattaya and wanted to visit she wasnt too keen and agreed t visit jomtien for a long weekend.during the whole visit she never let go of my hand which she never did in england,visited pattaya day time never on a night and never alone mainly walking street fot photos.took me 12 years to get back on my own november2022 to may 2023 during w
This time had the full pattaya experience from fun girls to girls that set off red flags even 2 girls fighting because they both wanted to be with me and of coarse visits to le pub and milk as at that time you were the multiple bar owning mr egg.i hope to be visiting again in july.lessons i learned many but the most important nes are dont plan go with the flow,be respectful and just enjoy every minute.

My second holiday to Pattaya was a year from my first and was almost the same as my first. Of course the “newness” wasn’t there but I think it was better than the first because I had a better idea of what to expect. I did know on my first morning on my first holiday that this was where I wanted to retire to! I’m happy that I was able to retire here in December of 2017

Very interesting and very true. I had similar but in Hong Kong between 1980 - 2008. great times but the HK lease was ending and going back to china so opened my company in singapore. I actually remember using airmail.
Airmail was terrible really, but a nice personal touch. I used to write a lot of them.
I do remember all about my second trip. It was just 3 week after my first trip when i fell deeply in love.

2nd time in Thailand i travelled a lot around Thailand.Met a lady in Ko Panang from Nong Kai.We were a couple for a couple of years and she wanted me to sponsor her.Last time we were together i took her to Pattaya and left her there.She became a freelancer and hey ho it got me out of having to sponser her.We did meet again but wanted paying for her visits.Bye bye.

I think you become wise as you say. Also, I am gutted when some favourite bars are shut down. Every time I go to Pattaya I go to some old favourites and discover new bars which is fun.
That’s the nature of the beast I’m afraid. But bars come and go all the time. I’ve been lucky with Le Pub, 8 years. Hope to see you.

A lovely creative and wonderful video which brings back memories.. My 2nd was not too far. It was 2018 November and I witnessed Soi6 for the 1st time. For some people it might not interest now.. But admit it Soi 6 was madness back in the day pre-covid.. Especially when you experience the live action while you walk through the Soi lol
I still think it’s as good today, Soi 6, if you go with some ear plugs.
I remember my second trip more than my first.
I didn’t venture off soi 7 and 8 and took no photos I was more prepared second time and the buzz was just the same, albeit less spontaneous

My second time was hugely different than the first time. The first trip was on holiday. The second trip was as a room and board volunteer at a local Catholic charity organization.
Excellent video. Different situation for me, as I had two trips to Thailand, and had travelled around the country, before I visited Pattaya, at the end of my third trip to Thailand. Remember my first evening in Pattaya, so busy looking at stunning ladies across 2nd Road, I walked straight into a concrete post! which caused great hilarity to them and the two guys with me. Loved Pattaya, and my second visit to Pattaya, was a much longer one, where I got to know Pattaya better.

What a gent he is, Phil! Went to Le Pub on my last day two days ago. Phil was taking his time with all the customers. Great music at a perfect level. We had a chat about Kim Carnes, Golden Earring and Le Pub's great playlist. Phil went home "early" and left this first-time customer "in charge" of Le Pub. 🤪🥰 What a character! ❤ 😂 Reasonable prices, lovely staff, smoking outside, and a blasting air con inside when you need to cool down. Will come back! Back home now, though... 😥

It’s fing HOT . Second time but retired here now. I know what I want to do now and not trying to do everything, hope you had a good time in my US home Dallas. Girls cost money anywhere in the world but I get my money’s worth here

I pretty much break all contact when I leave Pattaya as I like to start every trip with a completely clean slate, no promises, commitments or plans.

I did fall in love on my first trip LOL, but now knowing how the whole Pattaya eco-system works, i gently broke it off with my true love and was a complete butterfly for the entire second trip in 2010...and had a BLAST! Airport Agogo, Club Boesche, Honey Pot Soi 2 (^__^)...
Nothing wrong with calling in love. Don’t feel guilty about that. I fall in love every day.
Second time i went i stayed 2 months rather than one and had saved alot more money, therfore the second trip was better.

I believe I stayed at the Baywalk Residence and maybe met a girl at the Coconut Bar. That's all I remember; I had never been to Pattaya until my fourth trip to Thailand. There are more attractive girls in Bangkok soapies.

Always prefer coming solo but have several friends who live in Pattaya to hang around with when desired. Have had friends try to tag along and have me play tour guide which I would do for a few days here and there but I find people can have totally different interests which can cramp your own plans. The great thing about Pattaya is that you never feel lonely. If you start to feel that way, just head to Le Pub and you’ll feel like it’s your very own Cheers Bar with Mr. Egg (aka Sam Malone) at your service.😂

Took me until my third trip to find my Pattaya rhythm 😂 first twice I was still like a rabbit in the headlights. Back in 2-weeks for 5th trip in 2-years. Still amazes me and still finding new and interesting ways to part with my Baht 😅 but wouldn’t have it any other way

Hi Phil, you came back from Texas a couple of days too early and missed the World Championship Sausage Eating contest where an Aussie won by eating 51 sausages in ten minutes! That would of been a site worth seeing just to top off the Dallas trip :-)
From experience, I have found that most Australians are sausage experts!

Only been twice, bt the 2nd trip was definitely better... I was better prepared, knew more about where to go and didn't waste as much time.

1st time was like been in a heaven dream and the 2nd time the dream truly woke up and the fun went up another gear, that soapy bath was blissful still got the smile, marine disco and soi diamond bars was super cool
all thank to royal Jordanian Airlines and still got the original ticket from January 1989 👍

I enjoyed reading everyone's comments. I'll let you know about my 2nd time in October. The first visit was sensory overload for me. For my second visit, I anticipate things going at a much slower pace.
I brought a diary and took notes as well. 1st visit, I hit all the 'must visit' places. 2nd trip, I hope to discover 'hidden gems'.

How Much cost a Leo beer in your bar?
I don’t sell cheap beer, so if that’s the only thing that attracts you to a venue then I don’t think Le Pub is for you. But, we do have a very comfortable bar with great Aircon, lovely music at a reasonable sound level, free pool table, clean toilets, secure freeWiFi , live sports in buffer free 4K, great food service and some very friendly staff.
Mr Egg what about when you start not like hear girls screaming yapping... loud music.. been bar 1 month.. sick buffalo rest of it is it 3rd trip or more or age

I can easily remember my 2nd trip as I fell and broke some bones. Now my 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, and so up to 26th trip, thats where my memory fades. - just kidding, I have only made 22 trips. 5555

My 1st and 2nd trips I spent mostly on Walking street as I didn’t know Pattaya. After that I was finding out about more areas and Soi’s.
The longer you come the more information you find out. Although some people never really get to know much at all about this city or this country
my first holiday (42 days) was amazing, everything went as i planned aside from few minor medical issues. for next trip i know exactly what to change in my strategy to get what i want and add a twist to my trip so that it is different
