Cardiff, Swansea, Newport, Wrexham and Merthyr are Welsh teams that play in the English leagues. They are very old Welsh teams and when the first English National Football league was formed in 1888 (previously there were only local leagues) there was no national league in Wales and would not be for a long time. The five Welsh teams all applied successfully to join English Leagues. When the Welsh national league was formed they declined the offer to join. Swansea became the only Welsh team to have represented England in European club football in 2014.

There are two ways people try to invalidate Liverpool's PL win. One is to cite the pandemic, which is insane given how far ahead Liverpool were when everything shut down, (we only played two matches after the lockdown restart before the title was won) and the other is the myth that VAR was disproportionately favourable to Liverpool that year. The second one falls down if people actually take the time to look at it properly. Liverpool were 10th in terms of how teams benefited from VAR decisions, exactly mid-table. As it happens Brighton were the team that gained the most points from VAR decisions with City and United both also above Liverpool in that regard.

Ipswich was once a force to be reckoned with. Winning the 1st Division (now premier league) in 61/62, FA Cup in 77/78 and EUFA Cup in 80/81. As of writing this Ipswich are statistically the most "inform" team in Europe having an unbeaten run of 21 matches in competitive matches. To put that into perspective Ipswich haven't lost a competitive game since the 22nd of January and currently sit 1st in the championship (2nd tier of English football). Ipswich are also unbeaten at their own stadium in European matches

As a Newport fan, it's worth pointing out that Newport was actually one of the founding members of the football league third division in 1920. At that time, Newport was in Monmouthshire, there was a lot of ambiguity on whether Monmouthshire was in Wales or England, and was usually a mixture of both. It wasn't until 1972 that Newport and Monmouthshire was officially declared part of Wales. By this point, Newport had already been playing in the English leagues for a while.
When they went bust in 89, they reformed and played the first season in Gloucestershire, England. That's where they got the nickname 'Exiles'.

Hey guys! Congratulations on hitting 100k subs your videos are fantastic! I do agree with you that there should be promotion and relegation in American sports as it gives team something to actually play for. The joys and happiness of promotion contrasted with the inevitable agony, sadness and tears of relegation. When I see American franchises supposedly ‘tanking’ their season to get a higher draft pick I always think you’re lucky to still stay in your league/division. But if you even dare to tank your season here there’d be NO higher draft pick to look forward to in a draft … but only the very heavy price of RELEGATION to endure. I believe there was a vote of owners of the USLC (US Soccer League Championship) in Colorado Springs (on the 9th and 10th of August) about if pro/rel should be introduced in the tiers below the MLS to start with. I don’t know the results of that vote but hopefully pro/rel was voted for.

Everton along with Liverpool were relegated from the old top flight in the early 1950s.but since the mid 1950s they have never been out of the top flight. They are also the two closest clubs in terms of distance, either side of Stanley park in Liverpool. Alan Shearer only managed for the last 6 games of that season as the previous manager was sacked. He went back to doing Match of the Day afterwards. He did rally Newcastle but just could not get them over the line.

Kevin Keegan resigned because the board signed players he didn't want, and that they'd only seen on youtube. He was then replaced by Joe Kinnear. I don't remember if this was the time he called the reporter Simon Bird a f***ing c**t or not, but he also mispronounced two of his players names. He left due to surgery needed so Shearer took over, and had no hope, and then afterwards went straight back to Match of the day as if this time in charge never happened.

However, they allowed a joint Belgium-Holland league so it was thought it might become a reality sometime, with the British government likely to back it as an attempt to stave off Scottish Independence, and the PL wanting to shake things up, though the two Scottish teams would be unlikely to do too well initially without a lot of work, whereas they're quite comfortable at the top of the Scottish league.

I feel I'll be repeating what a lot of others might have said but by the time the pandemic hit Liverpool had already gained a massive points lead over everyone else.
By the time the league got postponed there was no doubt about who was going to win the league so the whole Covid/lockdown issues didn't affect the league winners at all. Actually Liverpool tended to play worse in the empty stadiums.

He clearly doesn't like Liverpool does he?
Not one mention in the video of the treble we won in 2001 (FA Cup, League Cup and UEFA Cup), or any mention of us winning the Champions League in 2005, or 2019.
Also, In 2020, Liverpool were basically 3 matches away from sealing the title BEFORE the season was postponed by Lockdown. It was a formality by that point, but people still tried to get the season cancelled out of spite (Basically, every single United & Chelsea fan)

1:25:29 so just to give some actual facts about 20/21.
    - man city won the league very comfortably over man utd, with no notable title race occuring.
    - Leicester spent most of the year 3rd but slumped to 5th and just missing out on champions league, mostly because Liverpool scraped a win against West Brom thanks to their goalkeeper scoring a last minute winner
    - West Ham, having avoided relegation by 6 points last year, managed to finish 6th. Their season was a right mess, they sold their most promising young star, sold their only striker, meaning they were playing an aging right mid up front, they signed someone whos career was the most memed on the internet on loan, as well as an old and slow defender who had just relegated his last two teams. suddenly it all came together and they got the most points in a season they’ve ever managed.
    - Spurs finish 7th and Arsenal finished 8th. This was significant as Spurs qualified for the new UEFA europa conference league, a third tier european tournament to make the europa league less congested with teams and improving the quality. Spurs, usually being champions league regulars, were believed to be guaranteed to win this tournament….. they got knocked out in the groups (first round)
    - relegated were sheffield united, who completely fell apart after the season before due to continuous centre back injuries. West Brom, which broke infamous relegation specialist manager Sam Allardyce’s record of not being relegated from the premier league. And lastly fulham, who were infamous for missing seemingly every penalty they got this season.
in addition to the games mentioned, some other notable games were
    - Spurs 3-3 West Ham, west ham were 3-0 down in the 82nd minute, no team had ever been that far behind that late and not lost.
    - west brom 5-2 chelsea. Idk how it happened either lol.
    - Arsenal 0-3 Aston Villa, 4th loss in 8 games, started a run of 7 games without a win.
    - man city 2-5 Leicester, this type of result early in the season made people think there was no favourite this season to win the league. I think it might have been a premier league record, because at least 7/8 different teams were top of the league at some point.
This season was actually very good, but it was ruined by no fans and a lack of a title fight in the second half. For example, at new years, the top 10 were split by only 7 points, which never happens halfway through a season.

Amazing video , matched by the reaction. I dont know whats happening but there is a wave of US sport fans watching EU football as of late and its so great to see. I feel its a nice way to bridge a gap of why football means so much to us- plus you now have Messi to watch, literally a footballing god. Being a massive Chelsea fan at some points it was a hard watch lol but im still proud of what we achieved. I remember crying when Terry missed that Penalty- but English football you are welcome we made you better than Spain haha. I also remember where i was for all prem titles and CL wins. Good times man. Been tough as of late but we have changed the club from top to bottom. Most teams fall off because of one player or a manager change tbf but the internet has no memory haha. I want to give a shout out to a few players I feel were missed here. Bias maybe but Lampard needed more air time. He ran our midfield for years and was so consistent. Shout out to Rory Delap , man should have gone into javelin or something. His throwings were a corner and when they had a throw in your half , it was a scary time. Shout out Ashley Cole, bias again maybe but he is the best left back to ever do it for me. Shout out both Morten Gamst Pedersen and Mathew Taylor, they could only score absolute bangers. I also have to mention Cheick Tiote, was a rock for Newcastle and scored one of the best goals in one of the best games ive ever seen against Arsenal. May his soul rest in peace. Also shout out the beach ball , with the only inanimate object with a premier league goal haha.(post/bar and in dont count )

VAR was introduced to try a rule out mistakes by the officials that potentially changed results. The season prior to it’s introduction the League Cup final ended Manchester United 3 Southampton 2, with tv reruns showing that Southampton had a perfectly legal goal mistakenly ruled out, when the score was 0-0. I think this was the mistake that finally pushed the League into introducing VAR.

Bayern Munich is the most successful club in German football history, having won a record 33 national titles, including 11 consecutively since 2013, and 20 national cups, along with numerous European honours. In 2020, Bayern Munich, under the head coach Hans-Dieter Flick, won the sextuple and became the first team to win the UEFA Champions League by winning all matches.

He glosses over so much in the final three seasons. Liverpool lost 3 games in the league in two seasons. They had the best defence of any team since 2005 Chelsea. They matched the most wins consecutively, and went 38 games unbeaten. They were fighting for 6 trophies all season in the 19/20 season, the only team to compete for six trophies in a season. The rivalry between City v Liverpool deserved more time spent on it due to how dominating they were in ways we had never seen before.
