Cristiano Ronaldo is without doubt the greatest player of the modern era. Ridiculously fast, phenomenally strong with an outstanding athletic physique, he could do it all. His ball control and dribbling skills were at least as good as Messi's, his trickery was spellbinding, and he could pass and and score equally well with both feet. He scored from outside the box and from inside, and was supreme in the air. His stats say it all. I was fortunate enough to see him play a couple of times and I literally couldn't take my eyes off him, whether he had the ball or not. If someone had written his life story as a script people would say it was ludicrous, but he's written his own script and will go down in history as the greatest of all time. Cheers from the UK

My favourite player of all time was Paul Scholes, he scored some outrageous goals and was the best passer of the ball I've ever seen. He could pick out a player with a pass who was surrounded my 4 defenders effortlessly.
Ronaldo once said "When we were in training, I used to do a lot of tricks which hardly any players at the club could do. Once I was showing my skills to Scholes. After I finished, Scholes took the ball and pointed to a tree which was about 50m from where we were standing. He said, I'm going to hit it in one shot. He kicked and hit the tree. He asked me to do the same; I kicked about 10 times, but still couldn't hit it, with that accuracy. He smiled and left."

@@adamaz7102 ehmm dude, no one is trying to manipulate hahahah. Those are facts in his career and is a video of Ronaldo... It is not necessary to discredit the career of a player with the archievements (or the almost archievements) of another, enjoy the animal that they are and stop being a fanboy. No one was talking about Messi, but i'll explain what your reading comprehension did'nt.... "the greatest scorer" it's for being the player who holds the record right now. But ok, let's talk about your idol. There's many players rigth now with better ratio than Cristiano and Messi, they're old and Messi its playing in a league of farmers (where he is not even the star) and even if he archieves that amount of goals with that team in that league, no one will give him recognition beyond the event... While the one who "only played more games" is older and playing in the actual best league and being close to the best scorer even without him and his team being in the best form.
Put this aside and since you're so into statistics and discrediting each other, i'll give you some homework: take a look in how many goals has messi scored in rounds ko since 2014 and then look on those where his team ( Argentina too) were eliminated, then find how many points his goals and then how many points did his goals help to get in each league he has played and compare them with those of Ronaldo, it's not just the amount it's the quality, importance and situation of each goal... As I said, they are greatest of all time and it's each one opinion who is the best, but I'm sick of both sides being fanboys, there's no need to discredit to exalt the one that suits you, they both have amazing things of their own to stay in the conversation.

Amongst those 500 there were some Ronaldo's relatives.

One uniqueness about having a player like this in the team is he creates a 10v8 on the rest of the pitch, Teams need to press him with 2 or 3 players leaving them outnumbered on the rest of the field. Having a player on the team who can beat a man is hugely underated, Because beating a man means one other player will then have to press leaving them unbalanced and out of position.

This is how famous people say about him :
    Zinedine Zidane
“When you play with Ronaldo on your team, you are already 1-0 up.”
    Johan Cruyff
“Cristiano Ronaldo is better than George Best and Denis Law, who were two brilliant and great players in the history of United.”
    George Best
“There have been a few players described as the new George Best over the years, but this is the first time it’s been a compliment to me.”
    Sir Alex Ferguson
“We’ve had some great players at this club in my 20 years, but he’s up with the best.”
    Ryan Giggs
“Ronaldo can score with either of his feet, his head and now he is scoring with the goal at his back. I bet he can score on a wheelchair.”
    Pele
“Ronaldo has come through for the past two or three years and is the best in Europe. I think at the moment no doubt Ronaldo is the best player.”
    Gerard Pique
“The best player I have ever played against has to be Ronaldo. You cannot afford to take your eyes off him.”
    Yaya Toure
“With Ronaldo in your team, you become the best midfielder automatically.”
    Ian Holloway
“He’s six-foot something, fit as a flea, good-looking - he’s got to have something wrong with him….Hopefully he’s hung like a hamster! That would make us all feel better!”
    Eusebio
“He has magic in his boots. The first thing you notice about him is that he is incredibly quick and very, very powerful for such a young man.
“He has great, close control and his technique is excellent. He believes he can do anything with the ball, and that confidence makes him very special indeed.”
    Carlos Queiroz
[He’s] a world star in soccer like Michael Jordan was in basketball … They have both been blessed with a genius that has never been seen before.
    Lionel Messi
“(Ronaldo) is always there scoring goals in all the games and taking part in his club and national side. He has been doing that for many years and whether he is at his peak or a bit below it makes no difference.”
    Florentino Perez
    “Cristiano Ronaldo is priceless.”
    Robbie Ryan
“I have never played against anybody like that in my life and I was pleased to be taken off.”
    Cristiano Ronaldo
“I’ve never tried to hide the fact that it is my intention to become the best.”
