George Carlin wasn’t nice, he was real.
The one he made on religion was an outstanding masterpiece
@@JoeSnow84 hats optional.
No one wanted to hear the truth and this day and age omg people will be crying left and right. I never understood him as a child but now...WOW
That's right. He said it himself - he said he likes to make people a bit uncomfortable in their chairs, but still agree with him in the end, and it's a difficult thing to do
@@JoeSnow84 in the end, I have never seen a bad Carlin bit. Some more out there than others, but in the end they all come down to truth. On the religion none, I can honestly respect him for how he thinks, the man studied what he talked about. He didn't go into something blind, never did, he truly studied it and formed and informed opinion. One way or the other, or in the middle, I expect someone to know what they are talking about, and George always did that part. Even if I don't agree with it, I can honestly say I can see his point and understand why he thinks that way, because he actually studied what he is talking about. His thought processs was screw what this persorn says, what that person says, lets look deep into what both say, and the answer may be a combination of both, or may be in fact netither. He had to put the comedic spin on things to get people to listen, if it wasn't for that they would have thrown him overboard in the 70s.
George Carlin isn't loved because he was nice. He is loved because he is insanely intelligent, and doesn't sugar coat stuff. Glad you checked him out!! He is sorely missed.
AND…We LOVED him just the way he was! We need more like him!
I don't miss him and sorry I wasted 2 hours of my life sitting in the audience of one of his shows.
You left out he is honest and truthful
True, he may have made some people mad, but when those people sat down, and really thunk bout what he says, you go, shit he's right.
@@jenniferd.w.357 then you are one of those people he is talking about maybe..? Ever self reflect?
The man was intelligent af. No matter your political affiliation, he was right about a lot.
Wish he was still alive today, to get his take on the world as it spirals down the toilet to cancel culture...
Carlin and Patrice comeback tour 2022 would be earth-shattering, lol!
🧠💯❣️
He was his own political party !
@@mattthacker4122....He'd be calling people like you dumb for buying into the rhetoric of cancel culture, that's been around forever, only difference now, people of a certain political leaning find themselves being the ones canceled, and don't like it. So they create a narrative and play victim.
"I shouldn't have even said 'government' in the video". People afraid to speak truth and reality -- exactly what Carlin talks about (and what George Orwell wrote about). If we're afraid, we're not free.
But the world saw what they did to a US president who was mildly “out of line” in November 1963. If they can do it to a president they can do it to anyone. That’s the kind of power Americans are up against.
he is obviously being sarcastic
@@sickturret3587 " If you can't speak freely, you simply aren't free! " -Montagraph
@@SomeReefer dude, i'm saying mr. video is being sarcastic saying "i can't talk about this etc"
@@christhornycroft3686.... Nice point!! Wanna hear a cool story about JFK? I'm a mild history buff, but I had never heard this before, until I saw Beau's video last year, and he usually knows his shit. Check it out, only 6-7min long I think...
czcams.com/video/9Q2S1hLWmo4/video.html
And now you know. Carlin, for all his comedy, spoke truth his entire career. You can look at his old stuff, and it was just as honest.
"This is not nice y'all"...
No one has ever accused Carlin of being nice.
I actually heard he was really nice in person.
George was a very nice person to be honest but when he wanted to call things out that pissed him off that concerned him dearly especially about humanity and other you know members of the community cared about their health cuz even he had health problems especially with his heart he was just concerned for everyone else that's why he calls it out
George Carlin was a Genius.
Absolutely lol
Apparently not. He died and it was all for nothing. None of this is real
@@shoresy6927 Everyone dies? Lol
@@shoresy6927 What does somebody dying have anything to do with being a Genius, bro?! You are definitelly not being serious bro LMFAO
Carlin is always my go to for a reality check.
See also, Bill Hicks.
George Carlin would have soooo much material today!! 💞
16 years later and this shitshow has only gotten worse. We miss George, his honesty and realism was a breath of fresh air.
If by some chance George was the same but was just born in like 1970 or so, he would be SEVERLY pissed off of what has happen to this Nation today.
Greatest comedian to ever live, only spoke the real shit. I got to see him live once, such a great experience!
Bill Hicks is better to me
Samo Ljubav Bill Hicks is my second, the only person who comes close to George lol
He is VERY sorely missed these days..
Could you just imagine what he would be saying ? He was a satirical comedy genius
Yeah. We could use the wit and wisdom of George right now. 😕
I think about this often, what would Carlin say? lol
This was one of George's angriest specials. The anger drips from every word here. Anyway, he's a master and always brings it all together. I miss him so much. The world has had a void since he got off it.
@@nancymclaughlin6790 yeah this is probably his most brutal take of all. This is probably the only time he wasnt even trying to make a joke with his over the top approach he's known for, just tearing into people. I'd have to say this special was near the bottom of the list for me, even tho everything surrounding this particular segment is ok-ish.
@@nancymclaughlin6790 Agreed completely. Even his last special It's Bad For Ya is better than this one and that was the same year he died. This is an anomaly for sure! Now I'm getting the itch to go back and watch all the old ones again to get a fix of funny guy George lol
WELCOME BACK, PAL!
ANYTHING George Carlin is GOLD. You can't loose.
You can’t loose lol
For the 43 people disliking this vid, Carlin is talking about you!

@@pineapplemoon9049 You mean to say Mexicans and Indians are real people? I was starting to believe we were a myth. /s :D
People hate it when truth bombs are dropped on this country and what this country does. They all scream racist, bigot, unamerican and my personal favorite, "then gtfo of this country then if you don't like." These very people probably believe indians are nothing but savages still (in fact, a lot of these people talk as if they are.) or that us Mexicans don't belong here. This is how deeply rooted our history has been re-written in school. Only a true history teacher will go beyond what a lesson plan is written and speak on what really happened as far as the past has been dug up.
People see the old maps for a solid 12 years and still believe none of belong here. That we are unamerican for speaking up and speaking out. It is what it is though. Can't fix st*pid. That's for sure.
@@pineapplemoon9049 bro, I'm from South Africa and I don't trust our history books or what we learnt in school. Our country had white oppressors, I'm pretty sure they wrote what they wanted to!

He’s telling the truth
I got to see him 3 times in the 90's. Best nights ever!
I am so envious! Lol
I saw him about 9 months before he passed away. One of the most memorable nights in my life

George’s comedy makes America really look at itself for what we truly are, and what we’ve become!! A Bloated former superpower. The rest of the world has passed us! Our country is so F**k**g stupid, we elected a reality star game show host for Christ sakes!! America Jumped the Shark in 2016, and I don’t know we’ll ever recover!
This may be the most insightful social media post I have ever heard from an American citizen in a long time.
i gotta admit, from Australia im kinda like "do they know politics isnt a TV show?"
@@jesterssketchbook let me answer that question with a resounding, Nope, not the vast majority of us. It's too much work for people to really do their own research about anything here. Helpful hint though and sort of a cheat sheet..... Every vote for various bills is public record. Just gotta know where to look. My advice to my fellow Americans would be that if you want to know how the politician you vited for (if they were elected) is really representing you just look at how they vote on various bills, and what their voting record over similar bills and provisions of legislation over the time they have been in office. We get the government we deserve.
@@Nimbus1701...I agree sooooo hardcore with doing your own research, I have caught former friends telling me to do my research and when I pressed them they literally got their news, aka, collecting info in order to shape their view on the world around them, from ONLY FoxSnooze and FB. I quit watching any U.S. 24hr news a about 4yrs ago, it's all such a shit show.
There's so many great independent news sources out there, but even a lot of them are going to be a little bias, that's human nature, but like you said, if people would take the time to look at more sources, watch/read about both sides, no matter how bias any of the sources are, eventually you'll be able to see the cream rise and the bullshit sink,. I go anywhere from 3-4 to week long deep dives, depending how passionate I am about the issue or politician, and I always try to find a couple sources that are totally opposite/against my feelings on that issue. I always want to make sure that maybe I didn't miss some nuance or detail that makes me re-think the whole thing, or even if I don't, I think it at least gives someone a better understanding, dare I say, empathy towards people on the other side, that we're often, now a days, so quick to judge or just hate them, and I have been totally guilty of that, so not calling anyone out.
Oh, another GREAT site.....If you want to know where, or who from, every single dime of campaign contributions, pac funds or any donor money for all politicians at the state and federal level came from and if it was spent properly and legally, go to...

TRUMP WON, PEOPLE
I always loved George's ability to "joke" about the truths that many people don't want to hear. Sometimes the truth hurts. But, one of my favorites he did, that anyone can relate to, was about "stuff".
“Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners.”

Hey sister ❤️ miss you too.

Don't be scared to speak your mind I like this man especially when he's talking about politics.❤
We aren't scared to speak our mind, it's just that a lot of people aren't listening or refuse to listen. Only one side is willing to negotiate, the other flat our refuses. Either way, Carlin was right, politicians are just there to give us the illusion of choice/freedom while the corporations decide what's best for the country.
@@JarofMayonaise...The problem is mush bigger than that, "Only one side willing to negotiate" No matter your political leanings, that sentence wouldn't make sense in any other country in the world except two. That's because almost every country on earth has several political parties, some have 7 or 8. And they're not like our Green party, or Libertarian party that have as much power as a high school debate team, actual parties that have a legit chance at winning the election.
I think it's Sweden or Finland, can't remember, they have 7 parties, but here's the best part, they are only allowed, by law, to campaign the 6mos prior to the election, and each candidate can only spend 50k on that campaign, and it is strictly monitored. I believe Madison and Adams warned of a two party system in the Federalists papers, one saying it would be the downfall of the American experiment.
@@JarofMayonaise Neither side wants to listen.
@@wsmokr Naw, I'd have to politely disagree on that. For months the dems have been trying to work with the reps to no avail, even when they didn't need their votes to pass something. McTurtle himself said on the senate floor that he was not going to let a single bill get passed if he can block them, he will.
He did the same thing to Obama.
Just a thought on why the dems might not listen to the reps is because the reps are spreading bold face lies and misinformation. Dems might do it a little but the reps have gone full retard mode. This country is in trouble.
@@JarofMayonaise see, you disagree just like someone disagreed with you.
There are different beliefs and it's not changing. Everyone believes they are the only ones right. That won't change either. At this point it is coming down to might is right and that's sad to see.
Can you imagine what wisdom we have missed since his passing? Would love to hear him today. 💜
I (49) grew up with hearing his humour. My Dad (73) is the one who introduce me to George Carlin. This man is a genuine genius!
And to think this special was 16 years ago and it still holds relevance. Just goes to show you that nothing is going to change in this dystopia.
We are the ones that have to change
We don't get anything unless we're willing to give up something
One easy thing that we can do is stop buying so much stupid shit that we don't need
Stop wilfully enriching people like Jeff Bezos. I don't buy anything from Amazon. It's really easy
There is no incentive for Corporate America to change as long as we make it easy for them
It's held relevance pretty much since the country was founded, American does not learn well from it's mistakes, in fact it refuses to acknowledge them..lol. History may not always repeat itself, but it at least rhymes.
@@750count...I'm glad you put that second part, for one I totally agree, and two, unfortunately in 2021, the first two lines could be said on their own by just about anyone. Someone fighting the good fight, who tired of the oppression and truly wants equality and to give all people a hand up instead of kicking down, or it could be the folks that sold their country out for a red hat.
Yean, I rarely bought off Amazon before, but after the crap they pulled with their employees over covid, then last month I think, or in May, where they blatantly union busted, I deleted my account. That douche nozzle, Bezos, got divorced last year, and still made enough money in 2020, during a pandemic, to have written a check to every single one of Amazon's employees, worldwide, for 68k and still hold his title of richest man in the friggin ' world.
George was WAY ahead of his time.
George was a visionary. He understood the human condition to an extent that many of us never achieve. What's more is that he shared that vision with us and put it in a way that was evocative and easy to understand.
Really check out more of his stand-up. He was the world's foremost comedic philosopher, and spoke truth to power while keeping you rolling on the floor. We need him now more than ever. R.I.P George.
"They only give you a couple of choices. Who do you vote for?" Thats the best trick of all. I don't matter who because your (the people's) vote don't matter! They get you so worked up about the "choices" you forget to notice that their is no choice. They decide who's on the ballot and make you belive those are your only "choices" . Legally you can actually vote for anyone you want. Anyone at all. But even so it don't matter because of the electoral college. Your "representative" can just ignore what the people in his district want and vote how he/she wants with no reproductions. Welcome to America.
The electoral college is superannuated, we don’t need it any more and it’s the one thing standing in the way of us having more choices
@@emcsquared8681 no the reason we only get 2 choices is that the Democrats and Republicans wrote the rules on who is allowed on the debate stage. If Americans never see or hear from the other candidates they won’t vote for them. The Electoral College ensures that the large cities don’t impose their will on the more rural areas. State electors are suppose to vote for the candidate the people in the state chose…it should be illegal if they don’t
@@brianross5998 that was the purpose when it started back when there wasn’t very many people in the U.S. but that’s not the case any more. The electoral college does not make sure the large cities don’t dictate elections because cities don’t vote, people do.
If you have a solid message then people will vote for you.
@@emcsquared8681 I respectfully disagree. Urban and rural areas have different needs and wants. That is why cities tend to vote more for democrats and rural more republican. Without the electoral college politicians could run ads and have rallies in the 7 largest cities in the country and have enough votes to win. I agree message should be important, unfortunately I guess I’m a cynic because I don’t believe I have seen a politician ever tell the truth.
@@brianross5998 what you’re stating is a myth, it’s provably false. Instead of me typing out why (plus I can’t post charts to show percentages on here) here’s a link to a quick read explaining why it’s just not true.

George might have been crude in the first part, but the second part had so much truth that it is like consecutive punches in the gut that is already tired from laughing. This man can bring moments of clear truth into his act so well, it doesn't really stop being funny, but also enlightens people. The professor of comedy, the preacher.
George Carlin the GOAT. now you know. if he could rap, he would be Slim Shady.
George Carlin and vulgarity...He's the guy that did the bit on 7 words the media wont let you use back in the 70s.
He is a real thinker and likely had a ton of influence on Jon Stewart, they think alike.
You should do more George Carlin, he'll make you see everything in a new way.
7 dirty words loved that bit also good one is Stuff
The vulgarity and crude humor was the seasoning he used to draw in a crowd that needed to hear the other side of his work that was very deep and meaningful. imo... Nobody else could weave fart jokes into such profound and insightful rhetoric.
He spoke his mind no matter if it upset people. Loved him. RIP
Look when he said this; George Carlin isn’t being mean for the sake of being mean; he’s using it to wake people up in a nice way. George Carlin saw it years ago and was ahead of his time. We need a George Carlin today in the world
He had a short run tv show, I remember him talking to a kid in front of a newspaper stand. The kid was looking at a playboy or something, he took it away and said something like 'that'll rot your brain, here read this guns and ammo magazine' (definite sarcasm).
I remember that show. The final episode, they showed "coming attractions" for the next episode, and made it look like a really cliché sit-com wedding episode.
Carlin is brutal and vulgar but he definitely says it like it is. He has no filter. Good to have you back Leo 👍😂👍

"It's a big club, and you ain't in it!"
But if you think a little more about it,for all the power & money they wield, there's not that many actual people in the club, relative to the population.A quote from another great comedian,"Does the name Custer mean anything to you?"--Robin Williams
I remember seeing this special when I was a teenager, and it wrecked my world in the best possible way. That last punchline in this video, especially, *never* gets old.
George was the conscience of the USA, he was brutal but honest and he always held up a mirror to society and confronted people with the truth about things we dont want to see or hear.
Thing is, with George the rules are different, if you feel offended by him... chances are you've been confronted with a truth that hit too close to home for you.
The man was a genius who was able to step back and look at the bigger picture and pinpoint the real issues in a manner of seconds.
If anything, George hated political correctness for the sake of being politically correct, he understood that you cannot be PC all the time because the PC culture often doesnt fix the problems, it only hides them and sometimes even makes it worse.
Basically, if someone did get offended about what George said, then George had proven the point he was trying to make right there and then.
Take this bit for instance, is he wrong? no.. he isnt... the USA is one big shopping mall, and there is a pandemic of obesity, and not your regular obesity... no.. we've all seen those 10-ton people who are bigger than your average pickup truck, and when you're that big... its not your glands causing it, its the 12 happy meals you eat before breakfast (and after, and inbetween breakfast, lunch and dinner) and those 4 whole fried chickens these people snack on in the evening.
No i'm not here to offend anyone, i am just saying George wasnt wrong, most of these problems he addresses are self-inflicted and can be changed if people actually wanted to.
But thats where the real issue lies, and George knew that people rather be ignorant so they can pass blame onto others... and George simply wasnt having any of that.
Like i said.. George held up a mirror to society, was brutally honest and by doing what he did, he did become that conscience of the USA. (someone had to do it and he was the best at that)
Sure but I don't find him funny and that's my issue. Definitely not offended. It doesn't sound like comedy, it sounds like somebody ranting to me. 🙃
@@that.ll_do_pig that is a fair point :) and yes.. he is ranting hehehe
I am a fan of his works, but i too sometimes cannot laugh at what he said, but usually when that happens i can still agree with, or see the point he was trying to make. That is why i hold him in high regards because he "dared to go there" so to speak. :)

The best "work" I have EVER seen were the 4 times I saw George Carlin practicing for his yearly HBO specials.
He always came out with a pile of notes and explained that he "gears up" only for the Live HBO specials he did each year. That is the only reason he "hit the road".
Hence, George appearing at small theaters like The Hershey theater in Hershey Pa where I saw him 3 out of those 4 times.
He even said some of the material we were about too hear would not make it onto his next special. He was "testing" too see what worked, and what didn't.
Very interesting, AND VERY FUNNY, watching him in that format.
He talked about how he gets his material.
Waking up and reading 4 newspapers and looking at online news each and every day, 6 hours worth of reading.
Then writing down potential material on index cards.
His daughter, Kelly, later confirmed, after his death, that her dad indeed had an entire room filled with filing cabinets mostly filled with those index cards.
The man was well rehearsed and totally prepared when he did his annual HBO "Live" Specials.
This is why you rarely hear him stumble on his words or lose his train of thought.

Carlin hits the nail right on the head. This skit right here is so prevalent at this very moment. Every word he said is 100% on point. This is the problem with our country.
This was before comedians were getting "cancelled" and they can say shit that offended people. Chapelle knows how it is. Can't go wrong with Carlin. I'd love to see you react to Sam Kinison or Bill Hicks.
I’ve been repping Hicks and Kinison for months, can’t wait!!!!
I remember heading to an Appleby's in Minnesota and we stuck out like a sore thumb. Everyone in there was massive. I think they all knew immediately that we were from Canada. We have big people too but not like that. I've never felt so tiny. On that same trip we went to a Hardees for the first time. My Mum picked up the burger to take a bite. The burger was so big I couldn't see her face. We both burst out laughing. It was a funny day.
George Carlin was the black light that shone on America's couch. This bit from him shows his comedic genius by making people laugh while facing the cold hard truth about the American way of life.
