The coach he's talking about is Fisher DeBerry from Air Force Academy. He said that his team was having a bad season because they don't have very many minority players and that they "run really well." He got in trouble for it but what's funny is that there was not ONE athlete of any color or ONE sports fan of any color who didn't know exactly what he was talking about. OR Most Likely "The Civil War" a nine part series by Ken Burns, an award winning documentarian. This is the Real Deal of When Abraham Lincoln declared Freedom for the blacks, completely enslaved by the South who refused to give the blacks freedom, which caused the Eastern States, who agreed upon "freedom" and The Civil War began. So just because you asked... like decades ago... 😜 I took some Anatomy and Physiology... I THINK quick twitch is red twitch muscle fiber which I believe is good for sprinting runners and white twitch muscle fiber (again, it's been ages since I studied this) is good for long distance runners. It's why long distance runners look thin but muscular and sprinters have larger thicker muscles. If someone who's better astute to this could fix any errors, I'd appreciate it as it's been a long time since I studied this.
Pretty much yeah. Marathon running is the best example of slow twitch muscles. Other sports that might benefit would be like soccer, basketball, hockey, anything that involves nonstop movement with no breaks and requires a decent amount of endurance. Quick twitch is more explosive muscles with less endurance so sprinters, boxers, powerlifters, American football players would train more for quick twitch.

Everyone has a combination of fast twitch and slow twitch muscle fibre. Fast twitch is fast explosive over short period of time. Slow twitch is endurance, slower paced over longer period of time. If you are predominately fast twitch you can train the slow twitch. I am predominantly slow twitch, there’s negative affects if I have too much fast twitch. I get hurt if I move too fast lol
