    Just got my Tuareg 660 a few weeks ago... Great Bike! When I saw the total price of both racks, all 3 boxes, and all 3 inner bags was a total of $3,589.70 US, all I could do was laugh and almost fall over in my chair. Still wouldn't trade the bike for anything. Great Video, your dead on!!!

      Congratulations on the new bike, it seems to of bowled over every reviewer and owner, I haven’t seen a bad word about it. That confirms its everywhere! 👍

    Well done Terry! I really enjoy your videos and actually bought a 1200 Tiger Xca after watching some of your earlier videos! I'm off to Barcelona in a couple of weeks, on the Tiger, for the Moto GP. Thanks to you, I have wired in a Sat Nav and sorted out some rider modes.
    Top man!

      Ah cheers Matt, thanks for the feedback. I still have my XCa and it’s still the most comfortable bike I h as e ever owned. Barcelona sounds like fun, in comparison I am visiting the Lake District at the same time 😬. Enjoy the trip👍.

    I adore the passion you show in your videos! Keep it up ^^
    I also comment to tell that Ali needs a better graphic driver (for the computer) btw! I trust that with your mechanical knowledge you'd be able to help with that :3
    Ciao and have a wonderful day~

    The luggage is stupid prices ..my local dealer has been feeding back to Piaggio that they won’t sell any. I just bought a Tuareg in red in red and got the Hepco and Becker engine bars, rack etc. Great quality and half the price of stock Aprillia stuff…forget official luggage.

  • @HippoDrones
    @HippoDrones Před 2 lety +1

    The accessory pricing is crazy.... trouble is, so is the aftermarket stuff too. An aftermarket bash plate delivered to the UK for the Tuareg 660 is around £660 with tax etc.... the bash plate for my Beta 390RR was under £200

    • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
      @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff  Před 2 lety +1

      That is a lot of money for a bash plate. It does look quite complex in that it is covering a lot of gear but it still reeks of poor value. Hopefully the aftermarket will get more competitive for this bike as time goes on. Thanks for watching 👍.

  • @MagicAyrtonforever
    @MagicAyrtonforever Před rokem +1

    Also the blue colour scheme adds £1500 to the price!

    • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
      @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff  Před rokem +1

      It does add a fair bit but not quite that much the last time I looked? But, the difference in price is very significant and totally unjustified when it looks like zero extra effort or complexity on the blue colour.

  • @VARider1
    @VARider1 Před 2 lety +1

    I thought the same thing when I saw the USA prices (less tax but still crazy). Will wait for the aftermarket to make luggage that is more affordable.

      Another commenter says Givi have released a solution in the last few days. I just can’t see them selling it at this price, to anyone.

  • @lukefirestarter4609
    @lukefirestarter4609 Před 2 lety +1

    you are right. These prices are crazy. Don't buy original Aprilia luggages! Wait for after market products (GIVI available since yersterday).

  • @whisperingwheels
    @whisperingwheels Před 2 lety +1

    Meh - obviously you have never bought factory hard luggage for any bike. The prices you mention are pretty much what BMW, Triumph, KTM etc. charge. Not cheap for sure - that's why there is a thriving aftermarket accessory trade. But Aprilia prices look pretty much on par for factory luggage.

    • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
      @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff  Před 2 lety

      Meh - you obviously didn't watch the whole video then, you are totally and utterly wrong about that. I list the price other manufacturers charge for these and the Tiger 1200 in the background has Aluminium Luggage which is Triumph branded Givi stuff that I personally purchased.

  • @blearyview2254
    @blearyview2254 Před 2 lety +1

    Manufacturers really try to rip you off. I looked at the cost for panniers and top box for a Honda NC750x and they are over £2k and they are not even metal. The bike costs about £7k brand new so these prices are just outrageous

      Anyone is going to beat OEM once they get their act together and start producing the racks. H&B a great premium brand at reasonable prices. 👍

  • @billy4rocks
    @billy4rocks Před 2 lety +1

    Blimey! That is extortionate, i think Aprilia just pulled some numbers out of hat, and said, yeah, that’ll do. Makes the GS seem almost reasonable! 😂 I’ll stick to a 100ltr dry bag strapped to the back.

    • @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff
      @terenceokeeffesmotorcyclestuff  Před 2 lety

      I know, this is not Dublin Triumph ripping you off though, this is a reflection of the very high cost of doing business in the Republic. Business costs are just astronomical, business insurance costs alone are diabolical. The Government seem to have no small business Czar, everything is focused on multinationals.
