In this video I'm going to be explaining the Gears of War Carmine Family! In this video I talk about the Gears of War Carmine Brothers: Gears of War Anthony Carmine, Gears of War Benjamin Carmine, Gears of War Clayton Carmine.

It's a bit weird how iconic the family is for how little screen time they got. And Ben had the most screen time out of all Carmines.
And Gary had a playable cutscene. They did him dirty.

Characters with less screen time shine the brightest most of the time. I mean, that’s a great way to make a badass or interesting character

One of my favourite things about the gears games is that they give you the image of a carmine from the first two games. Scrawny, stupid and green as grass. And for a lot of people, me included,expected Clayton to be smaller and of a similar stature to his brothers. And then inside the raven you see him and he's bigger than Cole. One of the most badass characters by far

It really pissed me off that they just killed the later Carmines off so damn quickly. Especially Liz. Her character needed more time
and seemed far more interesting thsn kait too she shouldve been the main character
For real. She was around for what, one mission? I know Anthony was pretty short-lived as a character but he at least helped set the tone of the series as a whole. I know Lizzie was used as a way to give JD a conflict, but they don't even capitalize on the conflict, he just turns into an antagonist towards Kait and Del for a few chapters, trying to stop Kait from learning more about her dreams, and then he gets sidelined just to come back a chapter later to be like, "Sorry I didn't listen, let's be friends again." Lizzie's death was for nothing since JD's inner conflict and regrets were just glossed over and forgotten.
Also is it just me tripping or could she have just opened the driver-side door? She managed to back her truck up away from the debris and even turned it halfway around, the door didn't look anywhere near as damaged as the passenger door, and the Hammer of Dawn took it's time to reach her truck. I honestly believe she could've just opened driver-side door and ran off and the writers just killed her off cause they gotta keep the Carmine Curse alive. Also, should Clayton get a new reminder inscribed onto his armor, "Check both doors before panicking."

Honestly the carmine family are a tragic one since every one except Clayton (another commenter from another video similar to this said the 4th brother's name is Derrick Carmine), I honestly liked Lizzie and I wished we had more time with her since she did learned from the best, her uncle Clay. Though Benjamin will always be my favorite and Clayton my second favorite.
Yeah if they wanted us to play as a woman I wouldn't mind playing as Lizzie, gate Kate she's trash.
I love the Carmine Brothers, Anthony wasn't a green as a grass when he joined Delta Squad.

They have a birth defect in that family that they come out with a cog helmet. It’s actually apart of there skin as to why Anthony wasn’t protected by it. Fortunately Clayton got a experimental surgery to have it removed, and he wears an actual real one.
You can't kill clay the dude is literally unstoppable with the most badass name ever the GRUB KILLER!!,and hands down the best of all the carmine brothers,and also RIP to all the fallen carmine family members.
Clayton is the COG equivalent to Noble Six from Halo.
Clayton is the Grub Killer and Noble Six is the Lone Wolf Assassin.

@@AnthonyCarmine2000 Anthony bro, you're the greatest character in the Gears of War franchise. You're the COG equivalent to either Douglas 042 from Spartan-II Red Team or Jai 006. Let's not forget your brother Benjamin, who is the COG equivalent to June A262 or Linda 058.
Benjamin is that man. He might not have been the best, he might not have even been half decent but he never gave up no matter the odds.
I mean Ben was in the lore, a pretty damn good sniper, and ntm in the hollow he held out on his own for a while, waiting for Marcus and Dom to find him.
The Carmines are just a badass family that has suffered through so many losses. Benjamin Carmine will always be my favorite of the four brothers and I still cry when I see him die. In my opinion Benjamin didn’t deserve to die, he was only a kid and the youngest of the family. He should’ve survived. To me the Carmine Curse was brought to an end when Clayton Carmine, the Grub Killer survived. But TC just had to start the goddamn thing again when they killed off Gary and Lizzie.

Ill say it AGAIN we need a Clayton Carmine standalone game in the days of Hollow Storm and the week that follows because He was in the shit from start to finish. He essentially was seeing the worst the horde could throw at them during gears 2. Im just thinking of the absolute Chaos the gears fought while delta was doing the wetwork behind enemy lines

I love how in the lore the locust have hard time seeing in the day due to the sun and them living underground but some how they bullseye every cog soldier in the head with perfect accuracy while every cog soldier including those without helmets can't see more than 10 feet in front of them to see an obvious locust sniper. To summarize plot armor is hell of thing
Well, the Locust snipers have on goggles to help with their eyes. I have no lore tidbits to help with the cog

Ben carmine is my fav it’s so sad his letter and death he always cared about his brothers and really good fighter he killed more grubs on his first day then any other cog very good solider
I'm glad they stayed true to not killing Clayton, even when they had an opportunity to in Gears 5
I always feel bad for Ben, he was just a kid at the time, he had that most screen time out of the rest of them, so it really did hurt when he died, he wasn’t the best but he pushes through and did what he could to help get the job done. I really do respect him for doing his best for everyone, mostly his family and Anthony. Also, I really look up to Clayton for getting revenge for the ones he loves and lost, so he pretty much had no mercy for any of the locust, and was known for it hatred of the locust.
I wished Lizze lived. She was by far the BADDEST chick in the new Gears of War games
i always called the 4th carmine brother David (or some other name that begins with d) because it goes Anthony (A) Benjamin (B) and Clayton (C), so it makes sense for the next one to have a name beginning with D.
The reason I like the carmines. I have three older brother's, and I'm the youngest brother. Hollow storm carmine is badass looking those brass knuckle knife. Great video. Glad I subscribed.

Something I thought that was a bit of a missed opportunity was in gears 3 there was a skin for Clayton called "recruit Clayton" for years I thought they should have just made this skin the 4th carmine brother and just leave it at that lol

While Clay is definitely my favorite character, I think I would have preferred if Ben had lived and seen his character grow to become like Clay's. Like, imagine if Ben had survived Hollow Storm and then, almost two years later during Gears 3, we cut to him and see him as the "Grub Killer" instead of Clay. That would have been amazing character development for him. With that said, his death is indeed tragic and helps to build up Clay's character as well as Marcus', who was clearly more troubled by Ben's death than Anthony's because Ben was HIS trainee and had a lot of potential as a Gear just from his first day in combat. Still, at least Clay gets to avenge his brother and keep the Carmine name alive.

I feel like Clayton broke the curse so Lizzie and Gary's deaths an unnecessary and pointless.

The 4th and final should be an onyx guard commander, and should hold some brief hatred towards the fenix family such as marcus and JD. Because carmines died under their command or was partially fault of their death. It would also be different experiance as most carmines are chill, the onyx 4th brother could be a by the book arrogant leader.
Naturally following the rest of onyx guards being harsh and looking down on anyone thats not onyx

I remember playing every gears and when we got the 2nd carmine I was like dame rip to his brother and when we got Clayton carmine and saw his tattoo of his brothers and him saying “that’s for Anthony” or “this is for Benjamin” it hits knowing he lost his brothers and he is the only one now ik in this vid theirs another brother but I don’t count him cause we never saw him but the carmines are most fav characters in gears and I rock Clayton on gears 5

Why do they never talk about D Carmine? He’s evidently still alive… maybe he’s an Outsider and considers the COG a curse since nearly all his family dies in it?
He was part of the COG during the Human-Locust War.
Anthony took part in the lightmass offense though so he technically is a hero (for the time they believed it worked and maybe a bit after idk )

I mean to be honest each carmine died also due to the failings of delta squad. Anthony, yes he should not have exposed himself so brazenly, but his squad should have had someone keeping watch and eyes out instead of just watching him. Then for Benjamin should have been secured and / or moved the injured Ben, as a cre of experienced gears full well would now the risk of not being strapped or secured in an open side chopper. And well Lizzie and Gary is self explanatory

Also am I tripping or once upon a time in gears or war 2 I swear you could pick up an intel item and it said something about another carmine whose name started with “D”. Derek/Derrick or something. It was right at the beginning of the campaign. It’s long gone and has been removed through the updates but I can’t find that specific intel anymore

I can see D Carmine being a character thats revealed out of the blue kinda and he's pissed with you coz of the death of lizzie who I reckon is his daughter for obvious reasons. It'd be the first carmine in a gears game that resents the cog. Dunno if it's a good idea but I could see the coalition doing that.
Also I wonder if we would've already seen D carmine if the vote for clay's life wasn't so generous.

The carmine family other than Clayton have been memed ever since the beginning. Anthony imo should've lasted a little bit longer in the campaign but the death was great and Ben died at the perfect point in the campaign. I was certain that Clayton was going to die and the fakeout was prefect.

When I first played gears one I was happy to know that my name was in the first game and I said “hey look I’m in the game!” Then he got his head blown off and Then I said “wow I gotta quickly take it out the game” but still I wish he didn’t die that way but oh well

Gary doesn’t die. If you look closely in the cutscene where the swarm attack, he’s up in a tower at the start of the scene
That’s just a reused asset, confirmed on Twitter by gears devs in the past. They just reused his asset as another random outsider
