My Dad's family was from Jersey City, I haven't traveled the Holland Tunnel since the 70's. As kids we always looked to see if we could see the policeman in his booth on the side of the tunnel. Or at least we thought they were police. Good times.
Childhood memories going through the Holland!
I lived right next to the tunnel when I was born. Boy how that area has changed!
Holland Tunnel. such Iconic and incredibly bottle neck traffic area from Jersey City, NJ to Down Town manhattan WTC area.
I remember as a kid from the back seat, I always use to stare at the twin towers. They use to look so majestic and dominating.
God! those 90s decade memories were so great and unforgettable.
It’s been years since I traveled thru the holland tunnel. Nice video
The Holland Tunnel...one of the backdoors into NYC (the others being the Lincoln Tunnel and the Gothals Bridge into Staten Island) and is the oldest freeway tunnel in the USA.
Nice video! I haven't traveled through the Holland Tunnel before but it's great!
Thats a scary tunnel.seems to go on forever.never did like em.been thru a few in my time.
Nah, you want to see scary? I took the outer roadway home on the 59th bridge last weekend. Doesn’t particularly bother me but it scares a lot of people… it’s like they extended the bridge out a bit on the sides and stuck a lane on it. The “outer” ironwork is on the drivers side.
The battery is way worse. It's longer and feels claustrophobic because of the dividers splitting the lanes
Now exiting Jersey City and hello, New York City!
Except to see this when you go, The Holland Tunnel to NY has delays due to volume. Updates are posted when situations change.
Nice drive through the Holland tunnel in New York NY
I’ve never been through the Holland Tunnel. I could only imagine what it would be like as described in Stephen King’s book “The Stand”.
Ohhhhh! The New Jersey game show - Saturday Night Live - brought me here.
I was waiting to see what exit you took. I only know exit 5 for Canal Street.
I guess you did not know that NJ 139 is actually concurrent with I-78 into the Holland Tunnel.
for $16 you'd expect a smooth surface at entrance.
paved in gold.
NYC had a lot of people
about 18 million people.
@@BradRains including the outside suburbs
@@BradRains nope!. greater NYC metropolitan area including suburbs is like 21 Million Plus. easily.
