Dehaan... Greatest Metallica Tribute band EVER!!!! They sound, play, and act just like them!!!!
Damn,you're so fuckin right,hahaha!!!
1DeathEater I don't think they're that good. They seem a bit rusty.
1DeathEater If they looked like them then i would be onboard but these guys look like pussies
Sea Level Cain Haha, sea level cain, I've seen you comment on mma vids.
this is what tribute bands should strive to be. This band is truly dedicated to mimicking thier heroes🤘
These kids from Dehaan are pretty good.
I hope they make it big someday
Yes! They played the melodic part of The Four Horsemen!
Dude...Hell yeah. I always wanted to hear that part of the song.
@@RandomGuitarist7 Since they supposedly only wrote that part to avoid legal issues and to distinguish it from Mechanix, I can slightly understand them not wanting to include it live if it wasn't part of how they originally wanted to write and play the song. That said, they should've included it a long time before this since that's what people are expecting and are likely to be kinda bummed when they're expecting to hear that section start and then *BAM* right back into the intro riff instead.
blakfloyd that’s just false since Dave was in the band when the melodic part was made, the reason is probably due to the fact it’s a blatant copy of sweet home Alabama
My favorite part of the entire song
Even it more fun when You can play it on guitar but no fears Hammett’s abilities (now-a-days) makes sure it’s a 5 minute lesson to learn it 😂
Probably the closest we'll ever get to seeing a club-era Metallica show.
+BigBadBuzzRoyt including the amateur drumming
+Mauricio Hernández Díaz hahahaha
+Mauricio Hernández Díaz 16:00 this is not easy to play. and drums on metallica songs are always great, you guys with this shit..
if you wanna make fun of lars, make fun that he is a FRUIT
but you are all fruits now so u cant do that i guess.. "that would be wrong"
Well now we got the Record Store Day i bet thats the most intense they can get Metallica - Full live in Rasputin, Berkeley - 16 April 2016
Imagine there might be some young kids in the crowd who think they just saw Dehaan.
BronzDano I might be happy with they first five albums, confused with the album five and six, and angry with the seven
what do you mean?! It literally says Dehaan on the vocalist's chest...
Shane McFarland Do you know it’s a joke, right?
Shane McFarland Do you know you are an lame ass boomer that doesn’t recognize sarcasm and cries on CZcams?
Then they get older and learn who they actually are
I love them forever seriously. Love seeing Cliffs dad onstage to the side watching and enjoying the show. How he must be missing his son at that moment!
+becca latina he probably cried in anesthesia (pulling teeth) :(
+Bruno PT No, I believe he keeps all his teeth and anesthesia wasn't really necessary. So, no reason to cry.
"I won't let you down, my brother" - Robert Trujillo
I was wondering who that was
Love them forever, seriously? SERIOUSLY
Old school metallica rules
+Ángel Hernández Totally agree. It is amazing how the dynamics, lyrics, and overall songwriting has evolved. I prefer the old songs, but appreciate the new material as well.
Creepy Georgie A ridiculously fake attempt at being "true and underground" again when you've been mainstream multimillionaires for almost three decades now. This is quite sad.
+Atl_DAD That's not what I said at all, buddy. You have terrible interpretation skills.
maybe the hater should just go listen to something else...the boys are as good now as ever...saw them in Denver and it was an incredible show...
Ivo Maropo 🤦🏽♂️
Holy shit.....James clear his pipes out or what. Hasn't sang this good or youthful in a loooooooong time.
Sounds like he threw out the singing lessons and went old school.
The whole thing is a throwback to them in the 80's
The last part of Phantom Lord (the outro) is suuuuuper high. Didn't think he could do it but he could. :O
I use to hate whenbo. Rock had him singing and oh and yeah all the time I couldn't stand it when James told bib you want it sign then do your self that was great oldschool Metallica got to like it
Actually it could be the mic tbh. All the years from Load to St.Anger they've been using some Sennheisers than switched to the Shure Elvis Mic, but well in the 80s and on this show they are using the workhorse of all stages an shure SM58, you've all seen it, you've all heard it, and well this could be the secret behind his "oldschool voice". Just saying because every mic makes you sound totally different. :D
At 23:56 Cliff Burton's dad stands up to applaud Rob. He's the old fella dressed in all white.
@Andrew Grey I think so
I like how the burtons always support who comes and play bass
He was actually screaming Where's fucking Jason bitches??
@@jacktheriffer1523 hahahahaha
R.I.P Ray
It seems that everytime Hetfield puts on his glasses, his 80's thrash kill em all voice comes back growling and screaming!
He should wear them more often in 2014!
hmm where? i didnt hear it. he deff put in a good effort for a 2013 show got to give him that
NeeKoLaj 2017
NeeKoLaj oh dear wake up!!! he's getting old and can't be young again ☺
Nowhere near what his voice was but still a killer show
Rattle Head You're right it's better here than most years.
Holy shit! Anyone else super impressed to hear Hetfield hit those high notes?
Must have been the tight black pants! LOL! :)
I'm thoroughly impressed. holy fucking shit.
Yeah 39:00 blew my fucking mind when i first heard this performance!!! Like he went full Halford/Ripper Owens for that one screech there
25:09 James sayed to Rob : "I'm so happy"
James doing this thing for about 30 years, and still kick ass and do that job with heart and passion, great man!!!
The most fun songs to play are the oldest Metallica songs like “Whiplash” and “Hit The Lights”.
@@RobertJohnson-bj5lk holy shit man, tnx to bring me here again after 10 years !! :)
*"Said"*.
Holy shit! They're all so into it! Hetfield's vocals didn't sound this good since like 1992 and you can actually hear some double bass here and there! Great show!
+CoTeCiOtm last time james sounded this good was 1999
CoTeCiOtm where do you hear double bass? I'm not denying it, I'm just lazy
@@derekb6728well for example in Hit the Lights at some points Lars is hitting those double pedals like hell
damn they were really feeling young this show! xD i love seeing that!
48:22 Look what Kirk does to the camera guy, LOL
Z That's Ross Halfin lol
***** lmao :D
Z should i name my kid hoobastick
Xanthan Sisper Yes...yes you should.
Ross Halfin ..... Great guy, great photographer!
finally they played entire "The Four Horsemen" \m/
I was surprised by that too. But I thought it was pretty cool.
i don't know why they are playing it without the interlude and the first solo, this is one of my favorites solo of Metallica and one of the best songs they have \m/
they played it in it's entirety at the fillmore shows
Karol Kaczor
The reason why is the riff James plays is from Lynyrd Skynyrd "Sweet Home Alabama" and they have to get special permission from them to play it live. Lynyrd Skynyrd is very copy right protected.
No he doesnt play the riff from "Sweet home Alabama". It doesn't sound similar
i cant wait to see the full justice album,no way to escape lars
Kirk´s solo in jump in the fire, has seriously kicked my ass!
And Rob´s pulling teeth too!
+Adam Kováč No shit hey? kirk might be a little to methodical at times but he still shreads the shit out of those strings.
+Matt Black i like him,.. so i dont give a fucking fuck, what other people are thinking about it..
too bad he didn't write it
John Blough Don't matter
dehaan is a realy good coverband. :-)
Hit the lights 00:34
Four horsemen 04:25
Motorbreath 11:04
Jump in the fire 15:03
Anaesthesia , 19:55
Whiplash 24:14
Phantom lord 28:18
No remorse 33:30
Seek & destroy 40:23
Metal militia 47:10
No Remorse was so SICk........that scream at the end- classic!
osensei75 I couldn't believe that badassery man
I didn't notice that the first time I watched this. I don't think I've ever heard James hit a note like that that was awesome!
Rob did a killer job at Anaesthesia!!!
I was live for this show, we were near a different stage and they must have known Metallica was playing soon cause they weren't setting up or anything so my buddy says "Lets go check out...Dehaan" We got there right as they were putting up the Metal up your ass banner and then Hetfield came out. We were so close by the time I thought to look back it was just a sea of people behind us. One of if not the best part of the whole Festival.
easily the best part fool
I had the same thoughts, ended up a little right of center stage about 2 people behind the rail, i remember looking back after Hit the Lights and was blown away by the sheer amount of people to appear at that small side stage. Easily the most memorable moment in that entire festival for me as well!
kirk still has it. dude played his parts like he never left the late 80s.
He was extra on fire that day.
MrJeezus maybe he just gets tired at nights and should just play day shows for maximum skill potential
Klaus O'Brien
Less surfing, more killing
More like Mustaine parts Jaja I love both of em
Probably, and not exagerating, the best live performance since 1992.
Luke good but i saw CATS once
+Luke yeeeaaa too right mate i'm totsally in awe of this gig wish i could of seen it live
fuck yeaaaaahhhh mieeeerrrda siiiiii
Damn first time Rob ever performs Anesthesia and Cliffs parents are right there watching. Man, the pressure
And Lars nearly ruins it.
And apparently he played it on one of Cliffs old bass guitars (according to a forum post I saw once).
@@cullinaaronkress - Lars committing a False Start at 21:35 made me laugh out loud.😆
The diference from Dehaan / Metallica its rob's jeans ...
and james voice is killer here! guess he was excited so he put some more power behind it
...rob's jeans and sunglasses!
Damn you can tell James feels like he's 20 again and on the road playing this in the early years...he's genuinely having fun. Also rob is a beast
I love how James always has the appropriate looking guitar for every song, or album
Man I cant believe I got on stage. I am 13 years old and I was at the Orion fest last year. Me and my dad were on our way to the bathroom and then we saw the Dehan stage. No one was by it an then we heard James Hetfeild and my dad says don't stop walking until your chest hits the gates so I did and this guy picks me up drops me picks me up again and I crowd surf and then the security guards pull me over the gates I get on stage and after they play I get Lars drum sticks and Kirk guitar picks. It was amazing but I wish that my dad and me could of met them. \m/ I love Metallica
Goddamn, James' voice was on point here.
Spirit in Black James is always on point.
Eb tune helps a lot.
The Grim Dealer Eb does not help much! If you play in Eb a song thats originally in E theres just a semi-tone of difference! For example, if you have yo hit a high C, in Eb you would have to hit a B, wich is just a semitone less! its almost just as hard
Yeah they all nailed it here!!!
+Kevin Yariel I mean it helps a lot for James singing. He can't sing in E major anymore.
this is the best concert in AGES! man james´ singing! daaamn
Julien Verveer i know i love the band KISSES
Xanthan Sisper whut
Julien Verveer X games concert was good too. Thought the vocals on this performance of Metal Militia were better but I think they are more consistent in the newer performance of the song Metal Militia. its the only song in the X games preformance I can compare to this performance.
Julien Verveer its a small show and full of energy.james can stress his voice and he did
+11076.ROBLOX He is probably better since hes only doing a 1hr show. Usually its 2 or 3 where he'd be forced to go full economy mode
Is it just me or is this easily Metallica's best performance in a while? It's like the excitement of doing a secret show at their own festival doing their first album only got them all on their A Game
Yeah. I think I've never actually never listened maybe a band sounding this good. Maybe is a spiritual thing. Like the Metal up your Ass thing the business people didn't allow them to name the first album; in doing this, they re-gained their strength or something.
I just think they wrote better songs when they were younger. After Puppets & justice they're writing is like a half hard dick. It's useless. Does nothing for you.
I just now realized that DeHaan is the last name of the actor (Dane DeHann) that played the main character in Metallica’s “Through the Never” movie. Nice.
Call me crazy but I would love to see And Justice For All or Master Of Puppets in its entirety live...
They played whole Master of Puppets at Rock Am Ring 2006
I saw and justice for all fully last month
thefinalguitar2 no you didn't lol
I'd love to see ALL their albums in one convcert O.o
Would be awesome, but lars' arms would probably fall off if they did Justice in its entirety!
omfg WORLWIDE KILL EM ALL TOUR !!!!
his voice is fucking good here!
This is proof that James can if he want to
Always could. It just depends how much he's into the show.
48:23 kirk tries to "pants" the camera man
Kirk pulling the camera guys pants down @48:20 lol
Hunter Kelley 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I was in the Dropkick Murphys pit when DEHAAN hit the stage. It seemed like a mile away. Everybody ran.
Jeff DeCaire Anniversary of Kill Em All. If you don't have it, its never too late. Only been 30 years!
Here is where the Hardwired to self-destruct began. Thank God for this show. |m|.
Once Rob was about 2 notes into Anthesia - just set the tone for the rest of the set. Rob played that better than anyone could have thought. Hetfield came back ready to rumble after that. Absolute fire.
I thought that was about the worst performance of Anesthesia I've ever seen. I've seen bar band bass players make fewer mistakes and sound better. Rest of the show was perfect, but that was pretty bad imo. In fact the perfection of the rest of the show made that stand out even more to me.
+None Ofyourbiz you are tripping - is this Les Claypool or Geddy Lee? If not, you really can't make that post. Please, show me a link where there are better performances of this by Trujillo ? You mean some nobody played it better after practicing it for 3 days straight?
I have no idea where a better performance by Trujillo would be, for all I know this is the best he's ever played it. I'm just saying it wasn't that good, there were quite a few mistakes, and I have literally seen it recreated more faithfully by a local Iowa bar band. You act like it's the most difficult bass solo in history, and he nailed it. It's not, and he didn't.
+None Ofyourbiz music isn't always about being hard to play cliff wrote it a long time ago where's the original world famous solos from the people copying his solo?
Who cares? This concert, from the very first second of music, was clearly about playing this whole album as faithfully as possible, even playing parts of songs they never played before live. Everything else sounds as close to perfect as you'll ever get live but this, this sounds awful. Maybe it's because it's my favorite bit of Cliff solo work, or maybe it's because I've listened to it a million times, but it seems almost disrespectful to go out in front of Cliff's Dad, on his own equipment, and play it so poorly when the rest of the show was done so well. It's extra disrespectful since this guy is supposed to be a world famous professional bass player and he sounds like he barely practiced the song. It's just clearly the sloppiest, least well done part of the entire performance. This guy is a world famous professional bass guitarist, playing one of the most famous bass solos in metal certainly if not in music in general, for the band that wrote it, on the guy that wrote it's own personal equipment, in front of the man's dad, and you're gonna screw up multiple times? I liked Trujillo when he was in Suicidal but now it just seems like he's too busy trying to walk around like a caveman to bother being an actual quality bass player. I've seen suicidal with him, I've seen Metallica with him and with Jason, and he kept much better time and just played better in suicidal, and Jason was a much better live Metallica bassist IMO. This performance sealed the deal for me really, when you're not even going to try in front of a dead legend's dad on his own gear.
This. Is. The Best. Metallica. Live. Concert. I Ever. Heard.
I like that James pulled out a more aggressive vocal for this, it may not be the same as is old teen style and for obvious reasons, but its good to hear a modern rough and rowdy Papa Het.
scanning the scene in orion tonight
39:00 AMAZING!!
0:00 Hit the Lights - 04:27 the Four Horsemen - 11:10 Motörbreath - 15:07 Jump in the Fire - 19:55 (Anesthesia)-Pulling Teeth - 24:16 Whiplash - 28:20 Phantom Lord - 33:32 No Remorse - 40:26 Seek & Destroy - 47:22 Metal Militia
Goddamn! Now that is what Metallica SHOULD sound like.
Even Lars got his left foot going.....he's spent the last ten years wondering what that other metal pedal connected to a stick with a ball on the end was doing in front of that big drum thing.....
After reading all the comments about Metallica sounding really young, I finally realize why James is using a white Flying V.
Thanks, Master of Collectors. You're doing a real public service! ;)
Cheers!
Dehaan's the name of the kid who was in Through the Never
The kids name was "trip" in Through The Never.
Trip was played by Dane DeHaan
3 Dollars and 50 Cents im taking a trip on a box of acid
For those folks who like to hate on Kirk, he had to relearn all the solos for this album which is very impressive. How many time have they played Jump in the Fire live over the past 20 years? 6? Motorgreath? Again 6?
metallica are freakin MONEY live. you always get your ticket worth and then some. Ive NEVER gone home disappointed. Even in the load days they still rocked mostly older shit live anyway. Grew up on these dudes and im mid 40s now. Gonna go see them til either they die or I die!
Hey Tim, I will be 45 in July, and I saw them on "And Justice For All" tour in Biloxi Coliseum, and they DESTROYED that place! 3 hour show, and they were in fantastic form. Just like here. Seems like they are in a great mood. Forever Kings of Metal, don't give a crap what anybody else says, this is how Metal Gods do it!
James voice here is awesome!
I think this is the BEST overall Hetfield vocal performance in at least 20 years.
dehaan is good coverband. rythm-guy is fucking tight.
The smile on James' face during Whiplash is a surefire way to make me smile :)
Kirk and james looking badass with the glasses - kirk's playing isn't sloppy - james' voice is so energetic like the 80s . HOW THE FUCK DO THEY DO THAT ?
metallica finally found metal again.. all they had to do was to look at their roots, bloody roots :D
now if only lars went back to any of his kits he had during 1982-1993
The white one with black heads he used in the black album tour!
First saw Metallica live in 1985 at 13 years old and Kirk Hammett is a lot of why I keep coming back
This album and Metallica is a clear example of good music is timeless!!! it is a dream for all veteran band supporters like me, I hope to have a chance to see a concert like this in Barcelona!!!
Could Kirk have played that bridge solo in "The four horseman" any better??? It was almost perfect!!! You know he hasn't played that in like 25 years! Was awesome to hear it! And Kirk yanking down Ross' shorts as he's trying to take picks of Lars, hilarious!!
now I've hear them playing the complete song as in the record I may die peacefully
They played the middle section in 2011, so it was only a two years difference.
Metallica should play full live albums more often. This is fucking badass. This makes me feel like a kid in the 80's all over again. I am surprised Lars made it through this show. lol
I've been listing to them since before Kill'em all came out with their demos! (I'm showing my age now..lol) Still love them till this day and they sound as good as ever!!!!
'I'm going to a Metallica concert to metal so hard with my ipad.' 7:50 R
"I'm at one of the most unique Metallica concerts and even though I'm right here, I'm going to watch it through my ipad despite the fact that other people will eventually be able to watch it in much higher quality and laugh at my stupidity". :P
Yeah something like that. lol
+Morris Falker Lol it's even worse cause it isn't even an iPad xD
39:00 James voice... Epic ?... Yeah EPIC
Like Jack Black ! haha :D
That was a Robert Halford moment. LOL.
I cannot believe the progress they have made the last few years! Hope for many more to come.
sounds amazing, the drums, the guitars, the bass and james' voices
39:03 - James Hetfield vs Rob Halford ;-)
Got chills when Het hit that high note!!
Umm no comparison. I love them both, but Halford has a much stronger voice.
They should be Dehaan more often
But it’s kinda too obvious at that point when you said that
@@JCapMedia theyre saying that they should play at this skill level more, not that they should literally play more concerts as dehaan
This is a pretty cool thing to do!
25:09 James to Rob: That was awesome! Rob did a great job playing Anesthesia (Pulling Teeth)!
32:49 - 32:58
Holy fuck!? Rarely hear such high notes from James so good...
I wonder though, if as they are playing this, they realize how hard it is to keep up with their old shit, start to finish. And how great of an album it really is, still to this day.
My favorite Metallica's album, Fantastic the Anesthesia's version by Trujillo, he give me shivers :o
I just realized Rob’s playing Cliff’s signature bass!!
I always wanted to see Rob playin' Anesthesia!
This is awesome! James voice is amazing!
This is the metallica I want \m/
James spitting on the ground, his voice is better than ever, all that's left is less wah and more bad words :)
I remember this vividly. I was getting a beer listing to Drop Kick Murphys . I sip my beer, holy cow that's a great Metallica cover band. Then I realized that's actually Metallica. So, I sprinted 150 yards in 10 seconds and caught most of the show.
Was the sound good?
48:22 Kirk tried to pull Ross Halfin's shorts down! FUNNY!!
48:23 Hahahah, Kirk was fucking around with the camera man xD Lol
killer show...james should sing like this more often...
FOUR HORSEMENT MIDDLE SOLO HAD ME MELTED!!! THEY SHOULD PLAY THE MIDDLE SOLO AT ALL THE SHOWS
so much fun listening to the full record live...thanks.. you gotta love kill em all...
metallica, the most trolling band on earth
Slayer’s more trolling though
48:22 fucking Kirk to the camera guy
That's Ross Halfin, isn't it?
Yes. The man himself.
Javier Piñón yes its Ross , a very close friend of the band
I remember walking over to see if this band was the band that was at my hotel. Got over there about 20 minutes early, only to have James come out to introduce them and be fooled. I kid you not the entire festival grounds ran over as word made way Metallica was playing. This side stage was also one of the smaller ones at the grounds. Absolutely great time will never forget this weekend!
After all these years, I finally found myself in the crowd of this video
impresionante show reviviendo sus mejores temas , mas alla de algunos errores como en anesthesia... o en el final de phantom lord y comienzo de no remorse ,excelente
best part...anesthesia pulling teeth!!!!
They really kick ass here. Great live performance. Thanks for sharing
Watching this performance and thinking Cliff was there. Robs rendition of Anaesthesia was flawless
Those old farts can still tickle those guitar strings
48:23 lol Kirk noice
Really great sound here, nice mix and superb vocals
Bass is killer in this!
