the first album was pure energy
was awesome
MrDonchopa, so true!
Hands down the best album. I dont care what anyone says.
And attitude! !!
It really was
WTF James vocals in GREAT shape!!
9:42 He can play badass riffs, sing, throw away a pick, get a new one. James Hetfield!!!!
In my opinion, the soundtech did an amazing job here. We can hear Lars's double bass and Rob's bass. Good good.
They sound EXTREMELY good here. The mix is perfect. The guitar tone is perfect. I’d love for them to do a full tour of nothing but smaller venue shows. I’d pay a lot to see them on a smaller stage. Just a back to basics, no fancy lights or pyro, old school experience. Get to pretend I’m my dad seeing them at The Stone in 83 lol
This. ^^^
This.
You can see everyone in the crowd saying to each other about how awesome James voice is here! wow.
You guys should hire the sound guy from this performance.
Holy crap they were in the zone for Phantom Lord. More energy than I remember watching this almost 2 years ago
Lars still couldn't stick the landing on it though. Watch the very end
@@KBizzy actually James played the wrong part and Lars was like oh ummmm okay. haha 6 years later, I know.
Jumped back right in the 80's!
right!!
A half-step too low, which throws off the way things are played. Still enjoyed it, though.
Always a pleasure to listen Phantom Lord live
Who ever was in there sound tech support on this tour kicked fuckin ass he needs to go with them every concert they do he is awesome Jesus metallica sounded amazing here
This was so awesome! Everyone there was saying they were going to put up a secret show, and the Metal up your ass just gave it away. We got up there really early got close as hell!! lml
What voice from james!
80's hetfield voice hahaha is cool
7:32
cliffs father backround.
really?
spitfire With Cliff’s sister I’m pretty sure
I was about 20 feet from the stage to watch this, watching them go track through track of "Kill Em All" was possibly the best experience of my life.
Phantom lord here when James walks out and starts the riff has been a go-to for me since this video came out. It's just too good. \m/
They should have showed the entire field of people running towards this stage! This was an awesome show to witness! \m/
No matter how much I love "more advanced" metal... I always come back to Metallica and am blown away. Hett is probably one of the greatest riff writers I've ever heard.
watching them jam out phantom lord gives me chills...killer
Hetfields voice sounds beastly here!!
James wore that bullet belt even in the 80's haha
Node to Motorhead I guess
They are the kings make no mistake about it.they sound really good.impressive.
I was there, working the venue, working for a catering company for METALLICA’s VIP section... happened to catch a 30 minute break and decided to walk the grounds at the exactly most perfect time “DEHAAN” hit stage! I was thrilled, as were everyone!
In here from Metallica's Facebook. Dehaan is probably the closest thing to Metallica I've ever heard. Not only do they have the right instruments, they totally look like Metallica! MUYA!
HIT THE LIKES
Hit the Wah
LOOOOL
+José Luis Leynez Hahahhahha this is gold.
Seriously
Gold hahahahaa
@Growler Thunder nope
So awesome. That's why these guys are the kings
THEY PLAYED THE MIDDLE OF PHANTOM LORD! Amazing! Do that every show
Hit The Lights AND Phantom Lord... That's HEAVY ! 👍😎🤘🎸🔥
Propably the best live version of Phantom Lord
Yes, that kit is one of at least two Tama Starclassic Maple(Silver Stardust colour) kits that he used during the period from around 1996 to 2002. Only there's the black logo Tama heads on there instead of the white ones that were used with it back in the aforementioned era.
Dude, they came to South Africa in 2006. Went to all three shows. Totally awesome. Then saw them again at Download in 2006. A great year, and dreams come true. BUT, they came back to SA this year. Saw all 3 shows again. It was the most amazing. subliminal, incredible time of my life. I get cold shivers. Reinvogated. Massive. Perfect. 2006 (although not "bad") has been wiped from my memory. And James? He sounded like God.
James sounds awesome this year! So happy for them
FUCK YEAH JAMES 12:24
holy crap his voice! i cant wait to listen to the new album!
I'M USING THAT FORMULA FOR MORE THAN 20 YEARS...AND IT NEVER FAILED....METALLICA FOREVER!!!!!!!!
Metallica is really a great band... James vocals on this show was insane
Awesome growl when James says "Phantom Lord!"
for this people love metallica because this is METALLICA WE LOVE!
10:29 goose bumps!!! been waiting for them to lay it down live for more than a decade!
Metallica is my therapy
Vocal James it's amazing!!!
Dang James was really into it that day just like live at the metro in 1983 . So freakin awesome . This wasn’t just another concert . The very best
Ahhhhhhhh my beloved Metallica
As a teenage boy in Hong Kong it is unlikely that I can go to other countries to see you guys live,
unfortunately I didn't manage to get a ticket for your Shanghai show, which was my closest shot...
Always love you guys!!!!!!!!! Hope that I would have a chance to see you guys live!!!!
Best Metallica performance that I have seen since their Damaged Justice days.
Trujillo performance in this concert was beyond perfection. Outstanding work
Best covers band I have ever seen.
Like the old times. Great attitude. We salute you.
James' vocals are so good! Hit The Lights was awesome
we WANT more, we NEED more !
This was THE perfect gig!! So glad I was there got it. I'll never forget it.
the james voice is amazing, dude.
James sounds amazing!
Great singing James!!!!!!!!
They're the best! omg I never have to get disappointed
I saw them do the dehaan thing at Orion it was really cool
Awesome!
I am in love with that purple satin Les Paul *_*
they kick ass so hard!
The greatest metal band in the world are here
Pure Energy.
dehaan is just an undercover alias Metallica used as a ghost band for their OM+M festival, but is also the last name of actor Dane DeHaan that's starring in the Metallica: Through the Never film/concert.
THIS is metallica. That's what it should be all about and that's how it should sound every time. With an attitude to kick ass!
James's singing here is amazing
i was thinking exactly the same thing man!!!
!!!!!!!METALLICA 4 EVER!
They still have it!
these videos remind me why metallica is still a great band.
good stuff!!!
James pulled off the vocals at the end way better than I expected
Dehaan is my favourite band!
I was there that was the best surprise ever!!!!
Sound so goooooooood! Respect from France!
Deehan is the name of some guy involved in the making of their 3D-film "Through the Never". They basically just put a random name on the billing so everyone thought an unknown band would be playing.... and instead came out themselves and rocked out Kill´em all ;-)
Kirk can't concentrate on the solo because of that fucking wah...
MacedonianRider i hate that fucking wha. He isn't able to play a solo without that s...t whawha
I think he's played long enough so the wah doesn't effect his playing but it just doesn't sound good on every solo he does. I wish he would give it a break on the wah tho
@@thomasferebee9535 Well I think that it works perfectly for some solos, but not for every single solo. I mean, Enter Sandman and other solos that were written with the wah, that’s great. But ones that weren’t, leave them alone.
This just might be the coolest thing Metallica has done in the entire universe, and the history of time.
Love Metallica 🤘💓🤘
Love Metallica live. They never disappoint!
I'm actually going to the show in Shanghai since that's as close as it'll ever get. I actually didn't know they banned some songs but as long as they're able to play stuff like Ride or Blackened I have no problem whatsoever :)
James' Black Gibson Les Paul, one of the most beautiful guitars on earth...
7:57 Mr Ray and Hammett!!! Hug
I have the feeling that counts for erveryone of them!!! Especially James is INSANE this year!!!
That was the best I've heard them sound in years.
James is so awesome!!!!
Wow I love James' vocals in the chorus of Phantom Lord!!!
Is it me or is James getting his voice back? Because the vocals in this sound so good, a lot better than recent lives in my opinion!
PURE AWESOMENESS !
Great!
That fucking scream in the end of phantom lord.. JUST PERFECT!
james is a solo king too, theres a few videos where he decides to do the creeping death solo, and does other solos, completely nails them
excellent, metallica is great and very important band for the métal!
in one fucking word:
GODS OF HEAVY METAL
love the kick (y)
freakin' awsome!...Must have been there:(.............And yes, welcome back James!...we missed you a lot for about 20 twenty years:D
AHHHHHHHHHHHH MAN IM JEALOUS hahahaha
Enjoy the show!!!
Ride and Blackened are two of my favourites too!
Perhaps my favourite is Fade To Black hahahaaaa
This is INSANELY AWESOME!
Wah wah wah wah wah wah wah wah!
awesome!! full set please!!!
Well, the result will be the song of awesomness.
Dehaan is probably the best Metallica coverband ever!
