Still watching video heard you say you still going to swap it out, do you recommend still swapping it out even after a repair or you just swamping since it’s under warranty?

I repaired a micro channel coil with Red Epoxy over 10 years ago and it's still holding. Knock on wood!

Running into the same issue with Rheem gas pack micro channel evaporator coils as well. I was told they are on back order for an unknown amount of time and I was number 10 on the waiting list

Great video Charles I think the issue with the micro channels is because they are not designed to withstand 410a pressures that's why but they look like the same type of condenser coils that are used in modern cars like mine. Which is also aluminum. But mine has not sprung a leak I did replace my original denso coil with a spectra premium one in 2018. Because denso oem one had a, defect where you could not unscrew the area that houses the incadesant receiver dryer but with the spectra one I can easily with an Alan wrench unscrew the housing and remove the filter dryer. For which I may do soon.
    Once I am feeling better.
I just wish you hvac guys could adapt legally 410a systems to run on r 458 a once blueons patent runs out. As it's pressures are lower than even r 22 or maybe can adapt to run on mo 99 but something has to be done to get the pressures down and then you won't get those leaks in microchannels anymore or even on aluminum evap coils.

Sometimes it's easier using lower pressure to find the hole when using soap bubbles.

MAPP gas? Are you still able to find MAPP gas? Or, is it MAPP gas substitute? The last place in the U,S, that made MAPP gas shut down in 2008. The substitutes gases don't burn as hot as the original stuff. and it has a different chemical composition.

I would find out kind of alloy is in that aluminum with all that heat that was put on that coil it should have melted that section of the coil. I would think that there's not a whole lot of aluminum, but more of some other alloy that keeps it from melting and that's a good thing.

There is a problem getting parts under warranty . It's ridiculous.

It's pretty sad that when Trane came out with micro channels several years back they quickly put out a video how to repair leaks on them

Trane, if under warranty, should honor their coil. Customer pays labor.
