    nice tut. For anyone doing this. It would be best if you have monitors with same specs, or the same monitors. Or maybe set both monitors up with the same display settings. I reduced my 4k monitor to match my 1080P monitor. Don't be afraid to change all the values manually while in game. The app is nice

    There is another, much easier way to do this (although it does have a down side running two screens).
    1. Create a custom resolution on your MAIN screen. This is your overall resolution of your multiple monitors, so if you have two 1920*1080 monitors your resolution would be 3840*1080.
    2. In video options of any game, make sure you're not playing fullscreen (IE you're in windowed mode), and select the custom resolution. Then drag the window so it is centred across your screens.
    Cons:
    You get the frame right in the middle of the screen (if you're using two screens)
    Pros:
    Don't need all your screens to be the same size (I have one main screen and two smaller screens either side, turned on their side)
    Don't need to run 3rd party software
    Don't need to switch screens

    Would there be a way to do this with monitors of the same size but different resolutions and refresh rates? I have one 2560x1440 @ 74hz monitor and another 1920x1080@144hz monitor. If the resolution is locked to 74 that's not as big of a problem, but i would like to have the game run at native resolutions for both monitors. I have to have the 1080p 144hz monitor set as my primary display in windows because that's what I play all steam games from. Thanks in advance.
    (My 1440p monitor is on the left with my wheel infront and my 1080p monitor is on the right)
    Edit: So I tried it by just using 5760x1080 and I didn't work, as it used the full screen of the 1080p monitor but only a bit of the 1440p monitor on the left. If I set the 1440p display to 1080 in windows display settings it works fine, but I'd like to have them both at native res if possible.

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi yz249, that's an interesting scenario. I think you may get some perspective distortion due to the differing resolutions. I think the best way to get around this may actually be to try something else, like "Nvidia Surround" if you have an Nvidia card or Eyefinity if you have AMD gfx card, using those programs should be able to better 'merge' the differing resolution/aspect ratios. There's a particular article here where someone has tried something similar: www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index.php?threads/adjusting-3-screen-setup-with-different-side-screens.20037/.

      @@Tebb_ZA So playing with the second monitor set to 1080 in the windows display works fine for me now, I was wondering if you could make this work with BeamNG Drive? There's no option for custom resolution, and editing the resolution in the .ini doesn't save ti the game for some reason. I can make it work by manually dragging the window across both monitors, then choosing 5760x1080 in SRWE, but the game is then windowed and not Borderless.

    Hey man, I've been playing around with SRWE 3:51 a bit over the last few days. I just seen this guide where your editing the video settings in the back end. I havnt had to this to mine, so was just wondering why we are doing this change? It may be in your written guide but thought I'd just throw our the question here.
    I'm running 3 3440x1440 monitors but the way the screens are set up it's better to either play on just two screens or play running on my main screen with a set up of a dual-screen at 6880x1440 centred on my main screen. This gives space on half of my two outter screens to run OBS and anything else. I'm not sure if this changes anything though. Thank you for the guide all in all hoping to learn a little more by the question

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 5 měsíci

      Hi! Perhaps its an optional / unnecessary change now, this guide is over 6 years old 😅 I think with you having 3 screens but only wanting to run on 2, won't really make much difference - technically this guide I've got is actually simulating a triple screen anyway, and just hiding the one screen.

    Is there a way to use this program properly on 2 screens and 3840x1080 resolution? Giving value on the x axis works, but the desktop appears on the right side of the screen. • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 2 měsíci

      Yep, it should work flawless especially if both screens are the same size and resolution. To make the steering wheel appear on the monitor you want, after setting up everything in the SRWE app, find the buttons called "left" and "right" in SRWE to adjust. See video at 8:42 for the buttons?

      Good questions Devin.
      Re. loading up SRWE each time - Yes as far as I've experienced, I would need to load up SRWE everytime to set/position the screens. This is why I recommend saving a 'profile' / preset so that it makes the process somewhat quicker. You could probably also macro the process to automate it.
      Re. moving single monitors, while I think this isn't possible using SRWE as that moves the entire game screen as if it were one monitor, you can possible move one monitor via the Windows Desktop Settings e.g. to shift a monitor up or down in relation to your other monitors.

    Is there a way to set hotkeys to switch between the different monitors in the Simple Runtime Windows Editor?

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 6 lety

      hmm. i hadn't personally encountered a need for that so hadn't tried it. I just loaded up the app however to test, and it appears unfortunately that functionality does *not* currently exist. However, the application is open-source on GIThub, so it should be relatively easy to modify. I may go and try modify it myself if I get time, or else can just open a request :) . In the meantime, there might be an alternate software to use that supports hotkeys too, I see some people have used 'ShiftWindow' app

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 28 dny

      either you're editing the wrong video.ini file (there are two different ones, in two different locations -- mentioned in the guide and youtube vid), or, you havent first saved the in-game settings menu to create the initial video height/width (e.g. the 1920x1080). Worst case scenario - try just add those values in yourself via text editor :)

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 3 lety

      Because instead of rendering about 2 million pixels (1920x1080), now your PC must render about 6 million pixels (1920x1080x3). Sounds like your PC isn't strong enough to render triples). Try turn quality or detail down.

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 7 lety +1

      Hi Chakotay2222, thanks for the suggestion.
      I have tried that in the past, but the 'triple-screen' mode provided a distorted view of my screens despite tweaking. Unfortunately some of the benefits I do lose are the ability to set the side angle, and the bezel width - but I have really narrow bezels, so I don't really notice.
      You also mentioned that you "need no program" - I found that if you're using the built-in "triple monitor" option, you still then need the separate SRWE program to switch between the left middle and right screens as you can only display two screens at once - and otherwise can't access either the floating plugin modules on the right-hand monitor, or the menu systems on the left monitor. Let me know if you've found a different way however?

    • @Tebb_ZA
      @Tebb_ZA  Před 26 dny

      My understanding is, that if your other monitor looks 'stretched', then this means that its running at a different resolution to your main monitor. You might be able to make it look a bit better, by seeing if you can adjust the native resolution of the other monitor (i.e. in windows display settings) either up or down, so that the height in pixels matches your main monitor (or as close as possible).
      That may not be possible however if they're very different in size, and then I think you're a bit stuck.
