    Hey Max , I think the Ace Bars look very cool, they also look good quality. However, for me I would not get on with them the same as you. It was great to see them and your reaction. Have a great Christmas man thanks for the great content through 2023 look forward to what's to come in 2024. Ride safe!

      Hey Andreas! Thanks! Yes, they look ace, hence the name I guess! But their purpose is literally cafe racing. Purpose built thing
      Thanks for your kind words! You too ride safe and enjoy the festive season

    My 2nd bike was a 71 xs650 and I loved it. When I bought the bike it had Clubman bars that were mounted upside down and I didn't realize it. I just thought they were really ugly custom bars. At the first opportunity I removed the drag bars from my brother's blown up GS 750 and put them on my Yammy and I was happy. I always liked the simple look of drag bars on a standard 1970s bike.

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  Před 2 měsíci +1

      I can totally relate to this. Interestingly, my second bike (Ducati scrambler) came with drag bars. They were also too low for me, got them replaced with rizoma bars with 5cm rise and it did the trick for me

    Remember that conversation we had about me having upright bars on my Conti GT... This video summarises exactly how i feel about cafe racer bars and the awkwardness of the riding position. Predominantly in London where I only pick up any speed two or three times per journey. The rest is filtering and sitting at lights.
    Gone for comfort more than anything else.
    I'm glad you got to ride out on the Clubman's though, they look great!
    Love the look of the minimised gauge.
    I was thinking about relocating the ignition to replace the key slot with a mini gauge mount but in London having any kind of lock is better than no lock and that's forced my hand.
    This video gives me some inspiration for relocating below the bars for sure 🙌🏼

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Yes, exactly! I was curious for a long time how would that be with the low bars. Admittedly, I was completely bought by the cafe racer modded bikes on Pinterest and insta. Most of those bikes are unridable (useless rear fender is most common thing)
      I start liking the look of the bike from the side, and for a minute I thought may be I should keep the bars for a while, but… flat tracker bars are so much more comfortable.
      I met with another Int owner, Nico, who has the key relocated and speedo mounted to the lock hook. It looked super clean and nice. Just too easy to leave your keys in the ignition :) hehehehe 😈
      Let’s meet for a coffee! There is a nice bike friendly place (advertised by TheLondonbonie) - maps.app.goo.gl/PTEfdFFyXxvM2xhD7?g_st=ic
      Or other location if you know a good one 😎

      I've learned alot about bikes on Instagram.
      They are beautiful works of art but the practicality is out the window in favour of aesthetics. It just doesn't work here.
      I use mine for commuting, there are many different ways I'd love to chop it up and configure but I just can't sacrifice the ability to get from A-B in this city without the ability to throw the bike around in traffic.
      I'm down for coffee at Blondies, have wanted to go for a while. Saw it on LondonBonnies and it looks like a great spot.
      Don't know how to drop private messages on youtube though
      Forecast is dry so I'll bring it out for the fair weather 🤣

    I was interested to see your thoughts on these, I knew it would be to low for me.
    I have been looking at the Motone risers for my Interceptor as even the stock bars feel like they have me leaning forward to much.
    If the risers don’t work for me I’ll order up some new bars.
    Have wanted black bars so this may be the path forward.

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  Před 8 měsíci

      Hey Daryl! Definitely too low! These bars are for the young and reckless:) black fat bars look nice, but I think they all have very small rise, no?

      @darylwootton5217 Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@thesundayrides I’m ok with the rise so don’t need to have flat bars, the original bars are fine in the looks department, I would just like them black.

      100% so! I met with another owner who had flat tracker bars. So I was able to compare before and after. Oh man… flat tracker bars all the way!!!

    • @thesundayrides
      @thesundayrides  Před 8 měsíci

      Exactly! I still like how it looks from the side though. I still have the bars and I rode it today 2h around London and then for 10 minutes outside on a faster road. For most of the time I didn’t enjoy it, but as soon as I got on a fast road - oh man, that sporty position makes a lot of a difference

    It was gratifying to see the presenter use the correct pattern for his ace bars. The stubs should be welded around the midpoint of the yoke, offering a 360 degree weld. Much weaker aces show the weld at the end of the yoke. Incorrect.
