- England MACCLESFIELD This is BAD Town Centre CHESHIRE United Kindom UK 4K
Macclesfield is a market town and civil parish in the unitary authority of Cheshire East, Cheshire, England, on the River Bollin and the edge of the Cheshire Plain, with Macclesfield Forest to its east, 16 miles south of Manchester and 38 miles east of Chester
This leaves me hollow inside. Imagine having one of these shops when the music stopped. People have no money.
Some people have PLENTY of money!
Poundland Lyme green is next on the domino list I work there and it’s the final day tommorow, Superdrug which falls on the 15th September is closing down which will more than likely be replaced by a coffee shop or a vape shop, Macclesfield is on its arse and I’m so happy to escape it soon
I live in Macc, it has a large number of shops closed yes, far too many and it's not as busy as it used to be, but did you visit on a Sunday? Come back on a Treacle Market day, the last Sunday of every month - totally different and very vibrant. No idea what the mattress is all about, that's not a common occurrence but hey it was there on the day of filming, but you've only put on the video the bad bits which is a little misleading. There is still life in Macc.
Macc is a proper rum town.
Wow....this place is just buzzing!!!
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies," Jefferson wrote. " If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around(these banks) will deprive the people of all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
"The issuing power of currency shall be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."
We should all meditate on that amazing prediction of things to come that are not necessarily beneficial to the 99%-- but only to the 1%.
Macclesfield used to be a quite a vibrant place
High Rents are killing everywhere not just homes. We need Rent controls like in Europe.
it's the n3w w0rld 0rder..no where to run
People shopping online are also the problem
Cost and finding somewhere to park.
I currently live in Buxton near Macclesfield and Macclesfield seems a place that you simply drive through. It's always had an odd town centre area that is very difficult to park in. I used to work on the local newspaper in Macclesfield and would struggle to find somewhere to park in the morning and that was in 2004. The only places I go to there are the out of town staples like Wickes, B&Q and Halfords, if I need something basic for the car like a bulb. The rest is a crap hole. The local council is to blame and of course internet sales.
Macc is not perfect, but most of the town centre is car parking, it's really not short on car parks, yes you have to pay but it's been like that as long as I can remember back as a kid, and I'm 40. Hard to believe you find it difficult to park in town.... You've got parking slap bang in the middle in the Grosvenor Centre, Churchill Way, Christ Church, Duke Street, Exchange Street, behind the Town Hall, three car parks by the Train Station, and three at the bottom end of town, and a pretty short walk out Jordan Gate and Whalley Hayes. You can even sneakily park in B&Q. However, yeah you can't get much in town these days like clothing which is a shame but we do have some great places to eat and some independent shops still. It is struggling, it has it's issues but it's not as dire as this video makes it look.
Now go there on a Treacle Market day
Plenty of Barbers coming 😂
Your video "A walk through Macclesfield England", which you uploaded 3 years ago portrayed the town in a completely different light.
Blame Amazon
Genuine question, not asking in a rude way, did you go on a Sunday? Cause a lot of those place just aren't open on Sundays, with all the shutters and stuff.
My god, that's horrendous- but I really don't think it's this bad. It looks as if you've filmed the worst parts, but it still isn't great.
“Did you know a second in Africa has just passed?”
I haven't been to Macclesfield in years this is shocking
God, it looks worse than Oldham.
hes highlighting all the closed and rundown parts of it. is older video from 3 years ago is better
After all this excitement, I'll need to lie down.
I blame the internet n Amazon
All ready to become accommodation for the immigrants
So you prefer to leave all the shops closed.
Ok 👍
No I didn’t imply that .
It’s the government that might prefer to do this not me . There doing it in my own town in Blackpool where immigrants are housed in posh hotels whilst the uk boneless are loitering inside - it only takes the next step for them to allow it to happen in closed down ships as well .
@paulnicolas172 so in your opinion what's the best solution to restart opening these shops???
Well if private enterprises aren’t going to reopen then then the government rather than spending more money building council housing to house people might as well convert them into flats - what would you do ?
@paulnicolas172 so your trying to convert these shops into flats
Ok😒
So instead of saying creating jobs from reopening these shops you want these shops to be flats.......
Why the F##K Don’t councils Lower the Rents and Rates to keep the Business going FFS ….. save our High streets 🙏🙏
welcum to lîberal , broken , brexcît , s0d0mîte , brîttun
This is what the UK has become
It's not all like that some places are doing well and look much better. I recently watched a video of my original home town of Warrington and was incredibly surprised at how much it had changed for the better. It's easy to make anywhere look bad if you highlight the negatives.
@@blackporscheroadster-yw8hb majority of places have declined massively.
GHOST TOWN
Proper GHOST TOWN
This is very misleading. I was there a few weeks ago and there’s some great little pubs and shops
Awful…..
How much do I know to talk out of turn?
You might say that I'm young, you might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know, though I'm younger than you
That even Jesus would never forgive what you do
