Still crushing on Miki after 30 years.
Ditto... she was my obsession in high school.
Yeah…same over here Dudes ❤
For realz.
Same. Loved the early 90’s scene.
@@dave8396 The best. I turned 20 in 1990 after spending my teens in the 80’s. Loved those days. When I see clips of kids losing their shit at a concert, even like a Taylor Swift show, I smile because I know this is that same time for them that we had back in the 90’s. And they will eventually be cranky middle aged people like us talking about how epic the 2020’s were. (Except we had the better music in the 90’s. Lol)
Chris looks so happy here. We can never truly judge how someone is feeling on the inside from outside appearances. R.I.P. Chris.
Lush... Breeders... Cocteau Twins and Dead Can Dance...
My sweet childhood, please come back! (
How old are you right now?
@@dudead2729 yk it’s rude to ask that …
You left Pixies from that 4AD list..
I know right? Its almost painful listening back to the flood of memories..
Too right.
I like how her accent gets more British as the song progresses
I have such a thing for 90's female lead singers. There was a magic back then that can never be recreated.
The magic is you being young. That’s not coming back tho you’re right there😂
Those two voices together are a miracle.
I wish this album would have gotten the accolades and attention it rightfully deserved back in 1994. Amazing album from start to finish.
Agreed. It really is a great record. This was my favorite album of 1994.
So true, some really really good hits on Split
@@amelie5525 Split, it's their second studio album (third if you count Gala as an album)
I started listening to this album again it really is amazing. The songs were so well put together and quality
the critics haven't got a clue. enjoy what you enjoy. we don't need the validation from some la di da nme journo
This is the song that got me into Lush as a 15 year old. 30 years later I still adore them ❤
I bought Miki Berenyi a Beck's Dark and spoke with her at a concert at St. Andrew's Hall in Detroit in the mid '90s. I am still spellbound.
Me and my buddy partied with Miki and Rachel (slowdive/Mojave 3) in 1996 on the shaving the pavement tour. It was my 2nd to last time seeing them live. My first time was in 1990. I can't believe they are back!!!!!! I already have my tix for NY and Boston
blackdeath666 this comment makes me hate you for sooooo many reasons, you lucky dog, you
Keith Harris ....lol. Yes it was a magical time in music. I got to see them all...Lush, My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Ride, Swervedriver, Medicine, Stereolab...and the list goes on and on
blackdeath666 *resentment intensifies*
I mean, I TECHNICALLY got to see Swervedriver on the 99th Dream tour, but my best friend brought some schmuck old buddy of his along, and In true schmuck fashion that guy couldn't find his ticket when we got to the venue, and by the time I decided "screw this, I'm not going to keep helping this jerk I don't even like find his ticket, even if it is possibly lost in my pigsty of a car," I was just in time to catch the last half of "Never Lose That Feeling/Never Learn," and then they were done.
In closing, EFF YOU BRAD DEESON!!!
Haha I met them when they were with Dillon fence and Mojave 3 and miki wrote we love Dillon fence !!!! They were so awesome!!! Still have my pics from meeting her ;)
College band? Back before the American music press(Rolling Stone) dubbed it alternative it was called college rock with REM being the poster children of the genre. It was called that because it was mainly aired on college radio stations rather than the corporate mainstream radio. Lush was fit in with the shoegaze movement in the UK which places them in excellent company alongside My Bloody Valentine, Ride, The Catherine Wheel and Slowdive. Always loved Gala with its shimmering guitars and angelic vocal harmonies of Miki and Emma. Very nostalgic to have stumbled across this video.
Pipe down with your "dissection". We dont care how old you are...
. WHO CARES and I am 42
@@zerorez4960 not their generation then
They did better in the US because the UK music press constantly slagged them off and their label didn’t promote them
I never knew red and green made me so happy
i just discovered this band and i cant stop listening them
I met Chris Acland in a club in London once and he was a top bloke, we chatted for ages, about football
Now then Scarborough Woof, remember the debate about the Knobbly Knees ?
@@aldoggettaye how could I forget? Up here in Aberdeen they keep us warm on cold winter nights 🙂
20 years on still sounds as good if not better !
definitely better!
I'm so glad to see the Lush videos in HD now. They look amazing. Great song off of an amazing album.
Miss 90's indie, rarely hear good new music nowadays.
Lush = Amazing
Miki = Goddess
I was a senior in high school when this came out and I was immediately hooked. Because of Lush, I seeked out similar bands and got into shoegazing and triphop. For that, I will be eternally grateful.
Miki caught my heart
Gosh…they were a great band!
Gregg Araki's soundtracks got me into Lush. This band rules.
i miss the 90's Aleternative.
I don't...because I missed it when it was popular and I was so into metal. Now I'm older and still am a full on metalhead at heart, but I spend my time thumbing back through time and finding gems like Lush. I love these girls (I realize that just the vocalists/guitarists are female), think they both are total hotties, wish they still were active musically, and since they are new to me, I feel like I missed nothing. When it comes to 90's alternative, though, I always kept up with the Pumpkins and Radiohead and consider both Gish and The Bends close to perfect releases...which means I like every song on both albums and still listen to both often today. Great short comment!
MPetrozzaIsGod
Kinda the same....was into Soundgarden, AIC, Tool, FNM, still listening to 80's Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, bands like this didn't really enter my radar. So bands like Lush, Curve, The Jesus and Mary Chain are new to me.
Limp Bizkit
Alternative Nation and 120 Minutes. Heck, I even miss Kennedy.
@@kevintucker1172 Dave Kendall, too. I was never much into Matt Pinfield as a presenter/VJ, though.
Nothing better than 90's...
This music video rocked my 15 year old brain so hard in the 90s. Thank you Matt Pinfield and 120 Minutes.
And thank you, LUSH.
#okmillenial
this whole album is amazing ashame i only just found out about Lush :(
Enjoy :) such a great band.
Takes me back to the high school days in my friend’s garage converted into a living room party space. He was gone 10 years later by suicide. These songs take me back when it wasn’t so dark and we were just having a good time. Miss ya, Mike B. You could have reached out. Ego/pride can be a killer. But some problems are out of our control. Wish it didn’t end that way.
OMG - I'm so sorry for you and your friend Mike! Did you know Lush's drummer Chris Acland died by suicide, and the band broke up after that. Very tragic and sad... 😿
❤
❤️
very glad that they are back
+MacHazzer You're a Lush fan too!
***** for a long time there anything that didn't sound like the smiths I wasn't interested in.
Would you say they made a plethora of good songs ?
This didn’t age well
They are BACK...!
Mix cd..crusing around in the 90s
"im a hypocrite i dish out but i cant take oh no you think its wrong
Well maybe your right but this is my song🎶"
4AD!!! Thank you so much for these HD Lush videos! My favorite band!
Wow...this is rather upbeat for them!
Timeless classic pop.
And mikis gorgeous 😁
I looped this song for ages back in the day, remembering her bright orange hair punctuated by the sheer confusion of youth.
Yes please ❤️❤️.
The Lonely Rocker digs this kinda music!
Never expected this band to be back - now I may get to see them again for the first time in 20 years. They were so awesome at the HFStival in 1996 and I went into that show not even familiar with them. Shortly after, they were one of my favorites.
saw them recently in Poland and holy shit it was great
LUSH... a band that was 20 years ahead of their time.
They were not. They were fitting perfectly well into the great early 90s.
@@carlottamatuschanskayasky2839 true, and they were better before this period.
I appreciate you're trying to say something positive about the band. I love them too. But, let's be real here. They were solidly in the early 90s.
懐かしい💦高校の頃の憧れ、バンドやりながら日本人のハーフのミキさんに惚れてました😃
No one can understand this
Hypocrite
Lush
A silly girl I run around and never know my reasons
And though you're laughing with me I know what you say about me
I can't explain, it's not your business anyway
So don't say you understand
And don't pretend you're on my side
And I remember when you hated her for sleeping next to him
I see your smiling face but I know you've done worse to me
You hypocrite,
Don't talk to me
'Cause you're not fit to know me
So don't pretend
That you could've ever been a friend
And still I'm sure you think it's OK
What you've done to me
'Cause I'm so bad to him
Don't even try to hide behind that stupid lie
I know your kind and I know where your loyalties lie
The silly girls we run around and never know our reasons
And though I understand I guess I'll say that you betrayed me
I'm a hypocrite,
I dish it out but I can't take it
I know you think it's wrong
And maybe you're right but this is my song
And still I'm sure you think it's OK
What she did to me
'Cause I'm so bad to him
Don't even try to hide behind that stupid smile
I know our kind and I know where our loyalties lie
Ive been coming back to listen to this song every few days lately since i found it again ... some songs just take you back to an exact moment in time... dunno if i like that or not but im back there when i listen... 1995...
I love that line, but this is my song and love the opaque tights.
VAYA MARAVILLA, AL FIN ALGO DE ESTA GRAN BANDA POR ACÁ.
SALUDOS DESDE COLOMBIA.
i love lush so much
I love this song ❤️
my favorite band from the early 90's
Love this song!
miki is so attractive...
She is the very definition of a bitch.
I’m gay and I’m spellbound by her!
She's a goddess.
Alas, age has well and truly caught up with both Miki and Emma. Happens to us all
she was....26 years ago!
One of the best songs of all time.
we got to correct this shit people. no more 'pay for play" crooks.
WONDERFUL, AT LAST IS GREAT BAND HERE.
SALUTE FROM COLOMBIA.
the best clip of Lush. imho.
The 90s were great!!
Crushingly wonderful
love this song
God I love this song!!!
Great song
Wow!!! very powerful song. I was so inpired by Lush in the 90's.
Everything so melodious...
I will always love lush ;^)
I am days away of getting a six foot photo of Berenyi and Acland for my apartment. Lush has been my favorite band since 1994.
Beautiful verse lines
Lush...best music
Brilliant and Beautiful ❤

god I love the twee parts, its twee, don't lie.
I listened to this whole album yesterday
Songs deserves to be better known...
The bass intro lead me to this song and then the band. Still great after all this time. In 2023 re-release of all 3 albums.
Miki berenyi my love❤❤❤❤
Welcome Back!!!
wow lots of views
love Lush
Oh man, youth in the 90s would have been so lame without Lush.
Man I miss 90s chicks.
The two girls in this band were so fit.

I stumbled here because of a photo of Chris Cornell with the vocalist of this band... and it never disappoints. (Miki's really cute on the thumbnail)
Very nice 🎵🎶
lush is the best
I’ve seen girls in 2019 copy Miki’s look.
It’s a timeless look
she IS the blueprint, what a queen
beabaodoo bla bla bla, i thought she was Miki
Incredible
The Singer from Paramore totally ripped off her look (
how can you be that pretty and talented
Отлично! Моя юность
I still f*cking love that tune!
Did you know that Chuck Schuldiner, guitarist and vocalist for death metal band, Death used to enjoy all forms of music and he also liked the band Lush.
really? i like death
Yes he enjoyed all forms of music except rap and country.
I knew Chuck...He liked music in all forms. I first met him at a used record store around 1987 and he was constantly selling his vinyl to buy other records. Since I knew the people that worked there, they would put his used records aside and I'd buy them. lots of old rock, obscure bands, and tons of stuff I hadn't even heard of. I was around 13 at the time and Chuck was possibly 18. He liked all kinds of music and respected all artists even if he didn't like their music much. He taught me to give all music a fair listen. As Nandish said though, there was never any rap or country but I do believe I bought his old Beastie Boys album that was before they had turned to their style of rap/hip hop/drunken screaming. I didn't know he liked Lush though as I just started listening to Lush recently. He was a super cool dude though. He let me watch Death record their video for "Lack of Comprehension" at the Beacham Theater in Orlando where we both lived. I truly miss him and people like you keep his spirit alive. Thanks...R.I.P. Chuck
Alejandro Caradepollo Good...Death will always be one of my favorites. I saw them at a lot of "hole in the wall" bars live and followed them around a bit after they released "Leprosy". I was lucky enough to see them at least 15 times live with many different lineups. You should listen to Chuck at least once daily...it's like a multivitamin, very good for you.
MPetrozzaIsGod Nice story man, must be cool have known a legend like chuck. And to me it´s a common characteristic of the greatest musicians ever to not be trapped in one genre only. Its really great to know that a guy who was so big inside metal scene was this open

Split is such a good record. I think it's a real hidden gem, as much as I love Blur and dislike Oasis, Split is easily the best album of 1994. Lush were way ahead of their time. Classic songwriting, great musicianship and the vocal harmonies are classic English folk invoking. Brilliant.
foda bagaraiiio
one of THEE most accurate songs about being with someone who wrongs you...them realizing your not better.
You meant "Then realizing you're no better" or what did you mean?
You think it's wrong, but maybe I'm right but this is my song" Genius.
That last verse...
Oh Miki you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind
Wellcome
❤
I love it this song, But they are even shoe-gazing in the video.... Great little scene they had, hard to believe it got so big. Great things leave epic trails...
Who is here in 1994?
This intro sounds much like Pixies!
Which song?
OMG 15 YEAR OLD ME'S DREAM GIRL *swoooooon*
Emma is a total smoke show. I love the red hair and green shirt. Omg 🤤
Wait . . . Miki is the one with the red hair and green shirt! Emma is the white girl with the long brunette bob.
Regardless, they're both "total smoke shows!"
And maybe you're right but this is MY SONG !
Don't even try to hide behind that stupid smile
I know our kind, and I know where our loyalties lie
That has to be seriously one of the most biting and incisive lines in the history of pop music!!
Hippocampus...also!!~!!
Oh Miki ❤
Such a crime we will never hear Miki and Emma’s voices Together again
WHAT?? Why not?? Did I miss something?
@@dollcefina haha sorry to alarm! Miki basically said the reunion tour was closure and that was the end. I should know better that you never say never!
Dollcefina...last I heard these two talented, beautiful women weren't communicating because of something Miki wrote in her book. It could be just gossip but if its true, its sad!
