There's something about Lush that just hurts me. I think it has to do with being about the same age as them, and the feeling in the early 90s of the world being full of opportunities. Alternative music, our music, was becoming THE music. The idea of having a little band, gigging and getting known, eventually being played on the radio and people buying your albums and singles. But it's all gone. This band faded away after their drummer killed himself. This band was really one of my favourites in a time of good music everywhere. Who knows Lush now? Basically just the people that listened to them then. I guess it's just that sense of everything being perishable. Everything that exists will one day not exist anymore.

I used to hear this song a lot as a little kid. I rediscovered it on Rock Band 2 after not hearing it after a while. For some reason the way she sings the lyrics beginning at 1:43 always gets me😁 I always have loved this song (:

They were kinda like The Smiths with an edge. Extremely melodic with beautiful chords, ethereal or dreamy. I remember seeing them on MTV's "120 Minutes" one night back in 1990 and buying their CD the very next day. 32 years later, their sound hasn't aged one bit.

Remembering back to the skate punk days when you could throw on college radio and actually hear punk........along with this song. 1990 16 yrs old. Thanks CZcamslandia. Also found out in 2011 the old song that also was in my head was Mazzy friggin fade into Star.........(Blue Star)...................(also from the 90)

I would hear this song ALL the time on college radio and never be able to catch who it was or the dj never would say who it was. After like 20 years of trying to figure it out. It ended yesterday when I randomly heard it and got google sound ID it. So good.

I really feel for the young'ns. They'll never know how it feels to have sounds that express their energy. Artistry in music is all but dead now. I was never much of a britpop fan, being more interested in what was happening in America, but these guys beautifully encapsulate the alternative nineties buzz.
