Extremely Rare Rendition. Pt. Jitendra Abhisheki. Raag Purva.

Raag Purwa or Poorva is a Jaipur-Atrauli Gharana Raag which is a combination of Raag Purvi and Ramkali. Pt. Mallikarjun Mansur and Pt. Ram Marathe used to sing this raag. The lyrics goes as "Ae Man Tu". The unique thing we get to listen here is the drut bandish.

As disciples of Pandit Jagannathbuwa Purohit (`Gunidas') both Pt Ram Marathe ji and Pt Gampubuwa (Jitendra) Abhisheki ji were illustrious Gurubandhus who publicly performed and freely acknowledged and appreciated the great vidya they had received from many generous masters :-)

They are slightly different. Purva is a jod raag. A complex amalgam of Ramkali and Purvi.
