      Theoretically anything that can short and draw enough power to damage the battery. This horn could use a fuse as a just in case, such as a situation where the horn internally shorted. Rare, but it could happen. Fuses are just good insurance.

      Sounds like something was shorting the battery, and it caused the BMS to go into protection mode. Make sure your wiring is correct. There's a chance the horn itself was shorting. They are cheap, so I wouldn't rule it out.

    Can you please explain what happens when we use a 150 Amp controller for a motor which produces about a maximum of 8.5kw at 127 Amps and 96 volts.
    Does the motor still draw 127 Amps irrespective of the controller or will the motor heatup because controller permits 150 Amps.
    ( My idea is that if the max amp rating of controller is more than what is required to run the motor,it will ensure that the controller does not heatup...Is this true?)
    This is for an electric motorcycle,Any help very much appreciated.

    • @EbikeSchool
      @EbikeSchool  Před 6 lety

      The motor will pull as much current as it can, so if you connect it to a 150A controller without a lower limit, the motor will try to pull 150 A. If your controller is programmable, you can set a limit at maybe 100A or 120A, that way the motor won't overheat and the controller will also stay cooler as it is not pushed to its limit.

      After all the comments I finally relented and bought the DIY E-bike book from Amazon, So here's hoping a blatant plug will get me the lithium battery book, Buying books in this day and age! is there an Epub version I did look. and £17 for what it contains is a bargain love it.

      There's a kindle version of the DIY Lithium Batteries book. But maybe you'll win it anyways! It's a random drawing (I use a random number generator to choose the winner each video) but if you're sticking around long enough then odds are you'll get it!

      So, in theory, I could just make hundreds of comments on how great your channel is to give me a better chance. LoL. Also, have a look at Battery packs Silver connects 18650 for an interesting take on battery making.

    Is there a way to tie the wires to a usb wire?
    My ebike has a USB port on the battery

      I guess if you have an old USB wire, you can splice that. The red wire is positive and black will be negative.

    The horn does not look to be loud enough for winter?
    Do you know any louder horn for winter when car's windows are closed!?!

    • @EbikeSchool
      @EbikeSchool  Před 6 lety

      It's quite loud - I actually turned the audio down so I didn't accidentally murder anyone who was listening with headphones.

      Probably not, it might burn out the horn. Like Drake said, you can use a buck converter to do it.

    Train horn will be best 👌

  • @NyyphoHerr-3D-panorama

    I set myself such signals (48V) in this way twice and both times the circuit was broken by strong induction currents, the switches disappeared very quickly. It's cheap and made in China..
    Now I solved the problem: i installed a diy-scheme breaker with one n-MOSFET.
    Now there is no spark in the switcher.
