The New Yeti SB165 is here! First Ride Review

- A couple of years ago, @yeticycles updated their trail and enduro full suspension platforms to include the three Switch Infinity 29ers that have been enjoyed by many. Last spring, they added the 27.5” party machine - the SB135 - to the lineup, offering small-wheeled versatility.
Now it’s the turn of the SB165 to receive an update, bringing a mixed-wheel setup to the long travel end of the Switch Infinity platform. We managed to get a couple of rides in on this mullet monster to give you some insight as it’s released, and are very excited to say it’s the best bike Robert has ridden so far this year.

e165, with the provision it will be ob bosch, will be a killer bike!
Yeah buddy!!👊👍😃
Good times!
Dude, you have been absolutely killing it with these ride review vids. Loving it
Thank you very much!! Appreciate it and glad you're enjoying.
in the video what are the trails shown you riding down?
One at Cline Butte and one at Horse Ridge, both close to Bend, OR. Pretty damn fun.
Curious how tall you are and what size you went with?
Rob is around 6' - 6'2" and we have a size large on test.
How many of you are actually going through tires? I keep hearing that these bike need DD or DH casings, but I'm over 100kg and not slow and I don't destroy EXO or EXO+ tires on the regular. And I don't just mean because of this video, I keep hearing it and reading it everywhere, including sometime form 70kg reviewers. Am I just too careful? Should I be smashing into everything? I'm feeling a bit left out here...
I’m the same way!! I’m 220lbs, I regularly ride DH trails with EXO/EXO plus and while I’m not a racer I’m definitely not a newbie and I have no problems with these casings.
It’s very much terrain and riding style / line choice dependent.
Exo+ is fine for less rocky terrain or for extremely careful/precise riders, but just doesn’t stand up to aggressive riding in chunky stuff, for us at least.
You don't shred hard enough, simple explanation
@@DB-sd3cw great insight, thanks
Tire pressure is also a topic worth considering, however sharp rocks and dry conditions will typically result in more tire damage than softer soil and tree roots.
Will this be Richie Rude's new racing machine?
We're unsure, but it certainly feels like it could be!
What i m waiting for the new 160e, when?
Hopefully never, abolish ebikes.
@@DB-sd3cwi own one, 160e needs an update, that’s all.
@@DB-sd3cw do you own one?
@@porroco I one one and I love it. real question, what needs to be updated?
@@canieto1option for a mx set up, prob sb165 with ep801
How does it compare to the Nomad V6?
Sadly we haven't tested the Nomad 6 (we tried!)
Still don’t get what’s the difference between this and the sb160
Wheelsize, rear travel and geometry all have slight differences.
too slight.. should have jacked up the rear travel on this going to a mullet.
Just marketing schemes to drum up hype for the next best thing and drive sales.
I hate it when people have to detail what a mullet is for a MTB lol we know it’s 27.5 out in the back and 29er in the front
Sorry about that, just making sure!
12 months ago I wouldn’t have known - so the details are appreciated by some
