The lizard league didn't get an upgrade they just usually had someone else on the team with superstrength who could match the big guy.
Yeah, the big guy was shown taking hits from Immortal and War Woman, he is always very strong.
@@swiftsteve8774 And Komodo and the other Lizard League goons were absolutely fighting to kill, which the Guardians never do unless it's strictly necessary, so while some Guardians can afford to do that and still win, that particular trio that was left couldn't -- they just didn't have a level of power to both comfortably tank the hits and pull their punches in such situation...
@@emmanuel1337 Dont think they tried to not kill. Rex specifically said that the Lizard League would have to die fast because pizza was getting cold.
@@Serryy It was clearly just a snarky comment -- it just isn't the modus operandi of the Guardians to come out to kill out of the gate, and even if in this case we have only a subset of them, with Rex apparently on command, their actions make very clear that they still weren't trying to kill from the start. Both Rae and Rex had ways to kill some of the Lizard League members really, really fast out of the gate, but they didn't use them until the last Kate there got killed.
Thadeus' beard was actually his real beard he grew, he just ripped it off! I find that even funnier, and the endings of the storylines this episode were practically ripped from the comic pages with Rex at gunpoint and the crew on the median ship in danger.

In the comics, not even a nuclear bomb is strong enough to remove a viltrumite’s hair. This is pretty much the only way for males to get rid of their beards

I like how they portrayed The Lizard League as a joke since the beginning only to see they're a capable threat against the right people. They really should have left someone home like Black Samson or Bulletproof with super strength as the members were too weak to deal with super strong member.

Yep, that or the trio that was left should've absolutely fought to kill out of the gate, which would be out of character and something the Guardians never do unless it's strictly necessary, so they started doing it too late, after one partner was down and other was hurt... I mean, if Rex exploded Komodo's head as the multiple Kates were holding him down, Rae entered the other guy's eye from the start and then they dealt together with the claw lady and King Lizard, they could've realistically come out of it with few injuries, but again, it wouldn't make sense...

I like how there are multiple threats in the series happening at the same time, i like how the heroes think take down the lizard league will be easy, but they prove to be not a joke and a real threat specially King Lizard for his plans and leadership

so basically the Lizard League, is a just a ground of C Villains, they are the Looser Villain organization, but that is because they always fight big strong heros, the problem is that all the big strong heros are on space right now, only the Light Weights are on earth.
so you send 3 light weight heros to fight the Lizard League, the story will not go as always.
the big strong guy is called Komodo Dragon, he can't beat guys like Invincible, Immortal or any of the hitters, maybe he can't even beat the Medium Weight heros, but 3 light Weights, yeah that is very different.
( the old, realitic speaking you dont send Batman to fight Superman's villains)
Komodo Dragon is pretty damn strong, he was fighting toe to toe with likes of War Woman and other guardians in Atom Eve Special
It's like jogo he was ridiculed for being so weak but the matter of fact was he fought against the strongest soccerors. But he one shotted grade 1 like pests.
I’m a little on Cecil’s side with the kid. Like you saw Debbie, she couldn’t figure out what foods to feed him and Cecil’s team would probably know right away. I get the whole not wanting the kid to become a science experiment but Debbie or Mark could also check up on him or even just let Cecil act as a babysitter while they’re busy. Like TECHNICALLY, Cecil is more qualified to care for that baby….technically.
Cecil is absolutely more qualified and absolutely would experiment on that kid behind their back lol

@@ArcticPrimal Yea human kids with their human parents. That kid is an entirely different species, even if you force feed him something you don’t know if he can actually digest it. That’s like feeding a dog chocolate. The dog will gladly eat it but it will completely mess with its stomach.

The way the dominance of their DNA works in hybrids (and Nolan even partially explained in the show already) is that it takes over the side of the DNA of the other species until it's as close to pure-blooded as the particular combination allows it to be (the level varies according to compatibility of species, but the Thraxan are compatible enough to produce [THE REST OF THIS PARAGRAPH HAS SPOILERS] a hybrid that's still pretty strong and end up even losing the purple tone of their skin, being pretty much a weaker Viltrumite that ages quicker).
The kid was always fine when it comes to food, as Viltrumites can safely eat human stuff. The true problem would be with his powers and fast development, but the point of not handling him over to Cecil is probably mostly to not let him turn the kid into a weapon and/or do some sick experiments to find out more about Viltrumite weaknesses...
In the comics, ray just got swallowed and that's it. So that was definitely shocking
The comics backstory for the shapesmith is actually pretty different. In the comics, he was part of a revel group that believed the story of how the sequids became the servants and their hivemind mind control was a lie told to justify the enslavement of the sequids and they purposely used Russ as a host to free them. When it went bad is when he left Mars with the earth astronauts i believe. I'm going off memory here, so i might have gotten some details/timeline stuff wrong. But he may be lying about his backstory here.
I don't understand Amanda/Monster Girl's reaction to robot this episode. She's the one who told him about how her curse works and how the training can't be too frequent in season 1, and he altered the training to accommodate. He's just trying to do the same here. Is it simply because they went on the date that she's looking at it differently than when he was in charge?

Yeah I didn't really understand Monster Girl's reaction and calling Rudy "controlling" was questionable. I guess she learned from season 1 Amber. 😆

the child while tough to deal with also gives Debbie a purpose , she has raised Mark greatly , he is a good person , she will do a great job with his brother too , and give him a family , a healthy environnement and love , something Cecil mobs can't . This guy needs a mother , and Debbie is a great mom !

No its because none of them could take the big guy so he just kept killing whoever fought him. Heck rez basically got lucky and still lost his arm.

Shrinking Rae's death messed me up, NGL. Something about it is just disturbing to me, way more than all the other deaths so far.
The Lizard League was really having a leadership problem. They were never able to properly use Komodo Dragon well before.
And now three of their top assets are dead, and for what..? At least under Supreme Lizard they weren't enough of a threat to warrant killing...

Yeah considering how stupid this was their leadership wasn't really upgraded. It's more that no one could take out komodo dragon. Kate and Rae had no way of doing damage to him and rex had like Two ways of killing both being self sacrificing moves.
@@mr.protagonist5639 They could've worked together and totally taken Komodo out without as much problem as you're suggesting. When the Kates were holding Komodo down for a brief moment, Rex could've quickly disengaged with whoever he was fighting to introduce a super-charged explosive in his mouth and done away with him (maybe just throwing it to Kate so she could do it) -- no self-sacrifice move needed. Sure, some Kates would've died anyway, but that's expected, and Rex could've been hurt as the enemy he was fighting (most likely Iguana) caught up to him after the move, but Rae could've dealt with Salamander as she did and then they could come together to finish Iguana and King Lizard off (of course, assuming they came to kill right out of the gate, which wouldn't happen).
As always, it all depends on how the writers want it to go down and are able to satisfactory justify it...
If there's one thing I'll always like about Cecil, it's how gently he talks to Debbie.
Cecil is the greatest of all time based on what I've seen so far.
It's funny bc he's definitely my fav character but I don't even favor half of his actions 😂 I just think he fits the world so perfectly and can be a good help for future events

Damn. I was kinda sus on this season bc the ep 4 fights weren’t nearly as brutal as in the comics but this ep curbed any concerns. Those were some insanely brutal deaths.
They were so used to someone with super strength to fight Komodo they got used to him being handled that way

I kind of get Cecil tbh. Mark acts like a cowboy who doesn't care for rules, and he doesn't. What if Mark learns some uncomfortable truth and doesn't want to tell Cecil? He just wouldn't tell him. For better or worse, Mark always thinks he's right.

You will have to be patient, in the episodes of the Part 2 we will be able to see a preview of the beginning of the relationship between Invincible and Atom Eve. In the Season 3 we will be able to see them together as a couple.
The creators of Invincible had all the Viltrimites have moustaches because their dads had them 😅
Mark had a "good" dad. He only found out that his father was a monster when he was 17. He had all the time to be raised by loving parents.
Eve made her shield around themibnstead of the whole ship so it was tighter packed and stronger to hopfully withstand an explosion of unknown power. Had she not been there the only 100% guaranteed survivor of the blast was invincible.

When it comes to Cecil, he always has an agenda. Like Mark said, Cecil may treat his brother as a laboratory experiment if left in Cecil's care.

but omnipotus in the comics is Robert Kirkman's take on the trope of almighty, overpowered, universal/multiversal villains that still finds a way to lose due to stupid reasons like plot/power of friendship/luck/deus ex machina/etc. so yes he's a threat but not really and it aint his fault.
Well at the end the overpowered villains do lose to heroes by some plot armour

Saying Cecil has nothing to do with it and should just mind his business is super short sighted and just based on biased feelings for Mark. He absolutely should keep an eye on things, his job is protecting everyone. The last time he didn't take an alien threat seriously enough, Omniman happened - of course he won't just sit back and ignore things like that again.
There are boundaries that need to be established. When has the government stepping in and taking a child away from it's family ever worked out for anyone?

As much as I find governmental overreach to be an irritating pain-in-the-rear (if not worse), Cecil's concern regarding Mark's brother is not unreasonable, at least in principle, given his job title, and given who the father is.
At the very least, shouldn't Cecil be permitted to finish explaining himself rather than being impatiently cut-off mid-sentence by an emotional outburst?
Even now, I get where Cecil's coming from with most of his BS. It sucks that he resorts to intimidation instead of persuasion, but being soft probably hasn't gone well for him in the past.
Hopefully one day he'll learn that he can be open and talk to Mark/Debby instead of demanding what he wants.
What an amazing start to part 2 of season 2(sounds weird to say). Hopefully this is some kind of alternate timeline mumbo jumbo as that was suggested in part 1 that we might get some peaks into other dimensions.
Invincible is like the American JJK. The good guys are always getting their shit kicked in and the MC is always _SUFFERING_

I don’t think it’s necessarily that Komodo Dragon was weaker before, the Guardians just didn’t have one of their tanks/heavy hitters with them during this fight (which would normally trivialize the Lizard League).

Its not that the Lizard League got stronger, its just Rex and them have no heavy hitter on their team at the moment.

Everyone makes mistakes. Eve's father said the same thing last season after Rex cheating on her with Kate and expected her to forgive Rex. I feel like that phrase is too overused and an excuse to make mistakes. That's just me though.
