During bad weather's or any fog , no plane shall land or take off until becomes all safe and clear.
Airplanes routinely land or take off under ILS unless weather is unsafe.
It's a bit late though if you take off in good weather and then it turns bad - they've got to land at some point otherwise they'd run out of fuel and crash that way instead 🤷
Obviously if they can find somewhere else better to land then that's good, but sometimes life doesn't always end up that way unfortunately and they can't fly around forever
There are diversion airports that airlines & pilots train for. In India for example, major hubs have CAT IIIB ILS system yet it is not feasible and safe to make airplanes take off and land. San Francisco in US is another such airport where fog plays an outsized role.

Reports range from 121 passengers and six crew members, 131 passengers and crew, and at least 127 people aboard. The report of 131 people was further broken down as 121 adult passengers and four minors. Reports the day after the accident settled on 131 people aboard: 125 passengers and six crew.

One of the main things I've learnt from all these videos is, if you ever hear a terrain warning, pull up.. And if you hear pull up warning.... without hesitation or doubt.. pull up
I was on a flight to Boston once, a few years back. Without warning the plane lost about 100 feet of altitude in a split second!
Fortunately, everyone was strapped in. You could literally see items such as cups, cell phones and purses seem to fly up and hit the ceiling! It was quite unnerving!

Alot of these didn't take off in foggy conditions though, they just tried to land in them - that helicopter should never had taken off in the first place and they should have listened to the weather reports

Maybe I’m weird, but I don’t fly at night, during storms, when there’s fog, if airlines don’t have strict policies to fight fatigue, and I never fly Spirit or cheap ass flights. I mainly travel Delta. I don’t want to die 😂
not weird, ur smart. but sometimes i prefer travelling at night with light rain - if you travel in a cloudless sunny day - thats when things tend to go wrong xDD
Actually, Delta has crashed more times then spirit, and there isn’t anything wrong with spirit, it’s underrated because of the size of the seats and how expensive everything is. I flew spirit 3 days ago and it was a smooth flight!

During these calamites the flights should be canceled besides I had a dream one night about my parents and I going to the airport and it was a really bad weather but I was so glad that my dream ended at the part were we havent take off yet.
Does anyone think it’s a good idea to tell 1/2 a story and then 1/2 of the next story and circle back to finish the first story???

From watching this video, i have made up my mind, nothing on earth will make me board a plane during bad weather. Nothing on this earth will make me do that. I will postpone my journey for a month or two. Better late than be the late.
You never know you just get on board and suddenly the next minute the weather gets sloppy
