My husband is a trucker and he's actually on the road right now. Our truckers don't get enough respect on the road. They are gone long hours/days away from their families and bring each of us just about everything we have and people still cut them off and just drive plain stupid around their trucks. Give our truckers some love when you see them. Maybe slow down and let them over when needed or maybe just a wave or a simple thank you if you see them out there. RIP to another trucker who isn't making it home 🙏 Roll on and be safe to all you out there just trying to make a living.
You're right. My husband drove a truck for years. But it does go both ways too. I've seen some of the stupidest moves by trucks for several years now, I hate being near them anymore. They know their size can take things we can't, & they'll drive just like you're not there. It's so ridiculous that people on both sides are crazy now, & that's in everything!

@@sandyjuntunen4088 our poor drivers are so tired sometimes having to make it somewhere on time, that I think they don't even realize what they are doing, sad but it's something that happens. We all need to show respect for each other out there

God Bless the poor truck driver and his family! I live in the area and have taken that bridge many times. I had heard of the accident today, but didn't know there was a fatality until now. Its so sad! Had it been another time of day there could have been more fatalities because it gets pretty busy. Still very very sad. 💔
RIP Tanker driver. It sounds like the tire blow out was on the car which hit the tanker sending it over the edge. The Tanker Driver was an innocent victim.

Absolutely. This is my town and it’s fairly small compared to some areas. That bridge just had like a 2 yr long overhaul done recently, but after the heat and length that fire burned I def am curious to hear what an inspector will say. This is also the submarine capital of the world. We have the submarine base right down the road from this. I was in highschool on 9/11 and they let us know the bridge is a potential target bc if they get it down it blocks all the subs from going out to sea. I lost count of all the fire depts called in to help. It was a massive effort to contain this bc it wasn’t just the bridge, the burning fuel spilled off the bridge and the accident happened right where the river meets land underneath, so that fire spilled over and was catching houses on fire too. They had to tackle it on the bridge, in the water and on land underneath it. I’m shocked there was only 1 death, but also so thankful this wasn’t the worst case scenario.
@@Sara-xk1ns fuel burns fast and essentially only itself. Pour a cup on the driveway and light it. It burns off fast and quick. You have nothing to worry about with the bridge. I'd bet my life on it.

@Adam he chose that. So did I, I've hauled fuel at 105,000lbs gross and I've also hauled pure ethanol at 200 proof and 8,300 gallons, as well as propane tanker. They chose to do it, they know the risks.

I live here and that bridge actually just completed a like 2 year construction overhaul not too long ago. It’ll be interesting to hear the damage the fire caused and if it’s still structurally safe. When it first happened some people thought the worst, terrorist, because that bridge is right near the submarine base. I was in highschool on 9/11 and remember it was made clear that the bridge is a potential target bc if it goes down it traps all the submarines in. Just seeing the massive black smoke cloud everyone was saying that’s not a normal car fire. Once we knew it was a fuel tanker people calmed down and realized it was just an accident, a really really bad one. I’m shocked only 1 person didn’t make it. My heart goes out to his family. On one of the local Facebook groups people were sharing videos and one woman was crying watching saying she couldn’t see anyone near the cars, there weren’t any people getting out. And she knew what it meant. But anyways, I don’t know if the recent work will matter or not, but it’ll def need to be inspected now. I won’t be driving over it anytime soon until that’s done.
So basically this woman killed someone because she didn't maintain her car like getting new tires when they're balding out. I believe she needs to be hit with a fine for that and vehicular manslaughter for being irresponsible.

We have no idea why her tire blew out. This is my town and this was a tragedy. Not 1 resident has said anything negative about the car driver, we’re all just thankful this wasn’t worse bc it could’ve been a lot worse. Accidents happen. This wasn’t done on purpose. There’s no reports of reckless driving or her being negligent in any way. If the investigation finds something different THEN u can make ur ridiculous comments. We’re all just thankful only 1 life was lost. People under the bridge have lost their homes bc the burning fuel spilled off the bridge onto their houses. Our town is coming together to help, not place blame.
Even with having a blowout, if you are paying attention and doing what you are supposed to do, it doesn't cause accidents. This person was not doing what they were supposed to do. I'm sure she feels bad and didn't do it on purpose, but an innocent man is dead because of her actions. RIP truck driver.

Assuming the state keeps the road swept ✅️ and the driver of the car didn't have bald tires❓️a good case can be made against the car tire manufacturer.

I have had front tire blowout in my car and a tie rod break at 60mph in a Semi.....still did not cause a wreck. These people are at fault. I'm sure they are upset and didn't do it on purpose, but still caused a death of an innocent person.

I drove heavy duty wreckers for decades when a tanker hauling flammable liquid wrecks the driver and anyone near it rarely survives!!! Stop driving like your house is on fire!!?
