  • DO THIS Before The Next ROAD TRIP on your Harley Street Bob 114!! I'm getting ready to take off on a road trip on my Harley Street Bob 114. I will run through a few of the steps I check to make sure the bike is all set and good to go on a road trip before taking off.

Great looking bike and very good pre trip and tips. IMHO though, with having tubeless tires, why not throw in a tire plug kit too, you already have the compressor with you and could get you out of a sticky situation and save big bucks till you get it fixed correctly. Just a thought. Ride safe.

Hand guards, engine guard, rain cover for your intake, pepper spray or gun….. Sweet bike brother great job going over the bike😎

Crossed the country a few tines and a windshield or fairing makes riding 100% better. Reduces beat downs by wind, rain, bugs, windchill.
At home its off and looks 100% better and is more enjoyable.
But I'll be home at the end of the ride.

You may want to check the owners manual for tire pressure. My FXLRST says 32 in front and 40 in the rear.

Solid checklist, brotha. One less thing to worry about so we can enjoy the ride. Stay safe.

I use the gas cap to catch drips from the nozzle, going in and out.

First aid kit. I am required to have first aid kit in/on vehicle for work. I start with tires and check things over going up from there.

the psi pressure on your tires is for max WEIGHT on the tire - doubt you are at max weight of that tire - your bike should have a sticker on it somewhere that states what your tire pressure should be for the weight of your bike

I usually overinflate since it lives outside and fluctuates with the temps overnight. I check and it usually levels out to normal

Did you do a chain conversation, no belt? I do the air pressure from the manual, not the tyre wall, it compensates for weight.

No still belt, I might have said chain

Did you figure out the high idle rpm issues? Also if you ever make it out to Gettysburg or for bike week there coming up. Let me know would be down to meet up.

Yeah seems to be the eitms kicking in in hot temps. I think it was enabled and I didn't realize it

@@TheMotoJawn I hate to say it, but on my LRS, my leg or the engine can melt before I let the eitms be enabled. I've had engines with burnt valves that sounded better.

You really need to invest in cruise control ... I added it to my Street Bob and I use it almost daily.
