      If I follow the wiring format used for both the male plug and the female Jack in this video will my connection work? I have one end with the male plug and the other with the female Jack. Thanks in advance.

    Excellent tutorial Mike! Years ago I used to be a LAN Administrator, can't count how many times I've had to make cables and install outlets. You have an awesome library of helpful videos!

    How would you add a second network wall jack in that empty space of the wall plate below the one you installed using the same cat6 cable?

    0:46 Those rubber boots get really hard over time and make it extremely difficult to remove your connector. So hard that the easily frustrated person might damage something in the connector removal. I ended up taking a razor blade to the bump protectors and cutting them all off.

      Yes they can but once I install my ethernet I never touch them again. Set it and forget it! Thank you for watching I really appreciate it!

    My cable carries colors other than those in the video such as pink, light green and dark green, is there an explanation for installing this type of wire?

    Thanks. Will the finished product allow me to plug a router into it? Is my Xfinity router guaranteed to be a cat5e or cat6 so it will work with this wiring?

      Maybe, if the phones are not attach to the inner wall studs.

    OK so when you put the wires into the keystone jack you don't strip them. How do they make any connection?
    Hope that makes sense.

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  Před 4 měsíci

      You don't strip them. The wires will make the connection once you push them down with the punch down tool. Thanks for watching.

    Hey I’m looking to run some cat cable throughout my house. My router is in the basement (far west of house) and the my room is upstairs (far east of house). What is the best way to run those wires? Would it be thru my attic?
    P.S: Your video is 100/100 rating. Explained everything very well.

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  Před 8 měsíci

      How will you run the ethernet from the basement to the attic? Are you running it though the floor or walls? I would try and move the router to the first floor to make it easier. Is there a reason your router is in the basement? Also remember if you join my channel membership or join my patreon you get 1 tech support question per month plus other awesome benefits. Good luck and thank you for the kind comments.

      29 dollars jeezsh mine was 65 dollars at Menards as the other new set I bought paid 45 for them are junk, what are you talking about they're all 8 pin & 8 wire

      I usually take a piece of the outside plastic or rubber coating I cut off of the end and will take it shove it up inside the clip along with the other wire then crimp it for a tighter hold and crimp.

    Just buy a female to female wall jack and you don't have to cut any wires.

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  Před 3 měsíci

      That is an option. I prefer to wire them myself. Thank you for watching!

  • @seymourbutts8850

    Why not use a female to female connector on the plates? Seems like installing ends is much quicker than punching down in the blocks. The female to female connectors are probably more expensive, but it seems like you can more than make up the cost difference in time savings.

    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Either way is fine but the way I always do it is by wiring it up with keystone jack. Thank you for watching!
