The senate bill was bipartisan and drafted by Republicans with Republicans wants in mind and absolutely would've been signed into law. It was written by James Lankford, the man Trump called "the border expert," who said the border would've been closed on day one for at least 3 weeks. Then the house Republicans gaslighted the base into hating what they've been whining for for years,for purely political reasons.
