  • This is a review of a keyboard stand from Liquid Stands - and it is an absolute beast of a stand. Adjustable height, lockable castering wheels, and capable of handling hundreds of pounds of synths. Or, mount a wood top to it and use it as a moveable studio table! I'm so impressed with this stand, and I think you will be, too.

      Interesting stand. Sadly the lowest height need to come down to 23 inches if it's gonna be usable for having free space enough for most Piano style 88 keys to be able to roll in and out under a standard desk height which is around 75 cm from the floor to under the desk or 28.85 inches. you need roughly 15cm or a tad under 6 inch to fit an average Piano under the desk. But no doubt it can take the weight of any 88 keybed, which is rarely the case of those drawers they put on some Desks for having a detractable keyboard under the desk

      Spin a threaded jam nut on casters threaded mounting bolt. This will space the snug spot with enough room for wrench.

      @@mrdali67 Appreciate this feedback. We considered this when designing it. We have another stand on wheels that goes down to 23.75 inches so we decided to keep the min height of this stand a bit taller so it would also work for standing players that are taller. We considered using smaller wheels on this but decided to go with the larger wheels so it holds up better for gigging.

    the nuts on the casters are for level adjustment. if it's on carpet, it wouldn't make any difference. but if it's on a hard surface, you would just screw them in until you can still access the nut, then tighten the nut against the frame when you have all 4 leveled.

    I love my Liquid Stands Z stand. I have my Hydrasynth Deluxe, Osmose, and Jupiter Xm on it. I've added 2 of the "second tier" kits, leg extensions, and casters. Good stuff and very stable. I love the locking casters (smaller ones on the Z stand) - makes it super easy to move stuff around in my combo office / studio. The Z stand is both height- and width- adjustable so that's really cool. High quality construction, good design, and yours for a reasonable price. 😎

    I picked one up based on your review, and I'm ridiculously impressed with it. Fits a whole lot of desktop synths (I got the tabletop and the monitor stands as well). The monitor stands are strong enough to take an MPC beating without moving. Very versatile and I'm hoping to see some accessories (like cable management) for it in the future!

      @liquidstands Před 4 měsíci

      Hell yea! 😀Excited to hear you're digging it. We're really proud of those monitor stands and keep hearing how "over engineered" they are (in a good way). We are working on 2 cable management options now: An adjustable cable tray that can clamp on or attach directly to the gold rivnuts on this unit and also a power strip clamp that can clamp vertically or horizontally and rotate 350 degrees - still need a couple months but they will be available soon. Hit us up with any questions or suggestions on what you need.

    Liquid makes great stands. I bought a 2-tier X-stand for my Fantom 6 and Prophet 08 and I was very content that the stand would hold. So many X stands are offshore garbage and unsuitable for high end synths. Like you, I thought the instructions could use improvement. Luckily I didn’t have any cracked plastic.

      We hear you on this. We played around with adjusting the height at the office and it can be done with 1 person and takes 2-3 minutes. The assumption on this stand is most customers will set the height one time and rarely change it. Our other option is to use a lever (or two) to crank the height but we thought the added cost to do that would be significant. We hear this feedback though!

    Hi Scott, I appreciate your videos (I was able to do a repair on a Juno 106). Sometimes a tappet wrench, which is slimmer than standard wrenches will work in tight spaces. I prefer table types of stands for the lowest keyboard of my stack. I prefer something wide enough to accommodate an 88 key instrument (without wobble) plus clearance for a pedalboard on floor level.
    I suspect your model has a provision for attaching upper tier(s) that reach from the rear to overhead. These would also need to be wide enough, plus hopefully able to adjust tilt. Another consideration is that these units do not seem to be the most practical for road gigs due to the lack of easy partial disassembly or folding up.

    Hi, Scott! Great video. I stumbled upon it as I was doing research for a stand and found it super helpful. I now have other questions for you about synths, if you have the time!
    I work with school show choirs and we use stage pianos for our show bands. In the past, I have used Roland RD 800s and 700s. I like those models because they feel solid, work with our sound systems, and have the capability to run through computers, if we so choose. That said, I'm having a hard time finding decent models for sale online. Is there something else you would recommend that is reasonably priced (preferably below 1,300, if possible)? Does that make sense?

    very nice V1.0 i could use one of those in my home studio with the second tier attachement, the lack of padding for the bottom of a synth on it is a BIG omision, even if you use as a table they could've just added the pads as user stick ons, you were too kind, the instructions sucked, i think it could use some improvements but as is, there's nothing like it, they need to step up their marketing game, the idea is great and the sturdiness ia a big feature.
