      They indeed look very similar but Spirit's A320neos have PW engines, Viva's have CFM and also the text on the sharklets isn't the same but if you don't look closely you could get them mistaken lol

    I just realized, at the beginning, they only used 1 engine to taxi

    • @sbaviationcol
      @sbaviationcol  Před rokem +8

      Yes, single-engine taxi is very common between low-cost carriers, and even most legacy carriers do so nowadays to save fuel when taxiing

      @@sbaviationcol I'm retired from Delta. Back in the late '80s weight permitting, we would single engine taxi on the 727. Single engine taxi out and in on the 73, 75 and 76 was common unless you were too heavy.

    Nice takeoff. Also I’m sorry to tell you this but this airline has ceased operations, They had merged into Avianca Airlines.

    I don’t like that there’s still buzzsaw because it’s the result of the fan rotating at supersonic speeds. This puts tremendous stress on the fan and greatly reduces its efficiency. At least it has a lower pitch buzzsaw than other engines of similar size meaning that its fan is spinning slower, but it’s still breaking the sound barrier. Of only they didn’t scrap the idea of incorporating a gearbox…
