- Hello and welcome to SOUTHEND AVIATION!
A video I've wanted to make for a while now A320 CEO vs A320 NEO engine sound battle! The video shows a vast different between the CFM56 and CFM LEAP by both appearance and sound. Choose your favorite! At some point I do intend on doing a full engine coverage (IAE V2500, CFM 56, CFM LEAP 1A and PW1100G)! Hope you enjoy!

NEO engines are mini GE90
Haha yeah you right!
even the sound is the same
But I sounds sooo different than a GE90
What is GE90
@@TPF621 the engine for the B777🛫👍🏻😏🇲🇽
Neo spool up like 777,s GE90
And the RB 211.
Because CFM is a part of GE Aviation .
Not even close to the sound of a GE90. More similar to Trent 900 or PW4084.
More like pw 4090
I flew on a a320 neo yesterday they are noticeably quieter than the older version
it might be the PW neo , which is A320-271 neo
exactly
NEO engine more power, short distance take off, Good sound
yep, definitely more powerful than CEO, flew with a NEO for the first time last week. also, very quiet & comfortable 👍👍
The neo's best advantage is that airlines can shove as many passengers on the same airframe without requiring additional runway to takeoff.
They are rated to the same thrust for the A320. The A321 may have more thrust, especially the PW1000G, but on the A320 they are the same thrust rating.
High bypass ratio, guaranteed fuel efficiency
I always preferred the A320ceo engines, the buzz saw sound is very appealing to me.
Same also
only on the V2500s
When I first heard the CFM-LEAP1A, I compared to the GE90😍.
Damn that NEO took off with a crazy steep climb :)
1:37 definitely my favorites
I love the CFM56 and IAE V2500 sounds
i love hearing the roar and feeling the power of the engines just awesome
Me: mom can we have 777
Mom: no we have 777 at home
777 at home:
Thats not 777
Jokes gone over your head
@@dmrxy. r/wooooosh
Scooraft jokes gone over ur head like an a320 neo low pass at an airshow.
Scooraft rwoosh
OMG THAT NEO SOUNDS REALLY SWEET
Both are unique and appreciated. Ty
CEO engines sounded angrier than NEO engines D-:
Yeah that's why I prefer them
Honestly I prefer ceo than neo
I been on the ones with the ceo engines (Airbus a380) to Las Vegas and back to Illinois Last summer, and back in November at Thanksgiving. I am waiting until we go to Vegas at August 8, 2020 Hopefully the plane we'll be going on has the neo engine (airbus a380neo) so we'll have a quieter trip
No such thing as an A380NEO I’m afraid
i mean a320neo
Neo spool up, Ceo for take off down runway rumble.
That is the rumble of inefficiency dude 😂
@@1jordyzzz but it sounds awesome 😆
I honestly didn't think there'd be much difference, a real eye-opener!
NEO, really quiet on taxi and that pitch on full power is so sweet.
God damn beeeautiful aircraft and engines.
A320 NEO I could listen to that engine sound everyday
Great video.☺️
Thanks!
SOUTHEND AVIATION Ur welcome.☺️
cfm weren't messing around with the leap, that thing sounds so good
Apart from the "voice" at thhe take-off, A320NEO is audibly less noisy than CEO (seat 8E of exactly that plane, a few hours ago from Paris). More thrust and overall performance for the plane, too!
NEO has a really boring noise, no buzz-saw at all when sitting in front of the wing. What do we get instead? A high pitched nauseating whine. Just replaced one noise with another.
@@richygambs321 NEO is proven to be quieter, but I love the Buzzsaw noise and would prefer to choose to fly an older aircraft with that noise.
@@shhmule Damn right. And Im disappointed at how aviation fans, who supposedly love engine noise, dont notice it and prefer the new one.
yep, better takeoff performance and quieter. comfortable flight
@@RituSharma-wy4wm aviation enthusiast aren’t here to ramble on about “noise pollution” just like most car enthusiasts aren’t keen on how quiet their car is at full throttle
I wonder why the old engines rumble in our lungs, whereas this engine makes the mother of a Screech?
Love it anyway:)
I'm not entirely sure why the sounds are that different but the LEAP has a much larger bypass ratio and partly made from carbon fiber. Could be making a few sound differences there.
Fans on the Ceo are running on sound speed thats why they roar so loudly and becaude Neos Engines a re thick AF they dont need to spin that fast so they dont roar.
My english is on point again 🤡
Massa!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽aí grita forte!
Wow NEO sounds like GE90 from a 777
Wow, the LEAP's whine is absolutely epic!!! no comparison really.
My fav two engine sound because is so good
i actually flew with a low cost airline which has cfm leap 1a engine. i hate when the sound get louder and louder when it takes off but i like the fan also.
The neo engine sound so good
Favourite
With the Neo you seem to get less sound from certain angles.
as a Boeing 737 person, I can say that if you want a cheap 777 that flies, go on the A320NEO. Other than that, it's just the same plane but with big boi engines
@Emanuel Pereira yes
777 sounds on an a320neo
Because it is a member of GE Aviation.
RR is better
love the neo
I was on an A320NEO just today, the inside still feels like A320, but there was too much engine hum and vibration that makes it sound similar to a 777-300er. For an airplane that size, it's too much. I still like the CFM or IAE sound better even if it's louder on take-off.
i like cfm leap and rr engine
I really appreciate that u used easyJet's aircrafts for this video... however, for sound I prefer the a320 CEO, but for flight experience and power and efficiency, I than prefer the a320 NEO...
The leap-1a is always nostalgic 😄😄
You mean CFM - 56??
@@vedapriyaravi7503 CFM56-7b is nostalgic yes but the CFM56 Leap series just sounds majestic is what I meant to say
CFM56! :D
When the neo starts up at some point it lets out a loud hiss sound. What is that
1;12 i love cfm leap 1a but very quietly xD
My favourite engine is CFM LEAP 1A 😍😍😍😍😍
A320 sounds like Boeing 777
I love jet engines and I would name a child, Neo
777X. And GE. #1. Sounds like victory.
Honestly I prefer ceo than neo
Are there eny American airlines that have the ceo
neo sounds like the vulkan ha brilliant
If the NEO CFM was as large as the GE90, they will be practically identical.
💖💖💖💖💖💖👍
I mean A320NEO sound like Boeing 777
I'm more an Airbus guy than Boeing but nothing beats this very deep humming sound when a 777engine is started, even from a few kilometers away
The Airbus a320 (NEO LEAP engines) sound and look a lot like the Boring777-300er (GE90-115B) engines
Are. The neo engines A350? It sounds like.
1:37 cfm 56-5b a320 ceo/200. 2:10 cfm Leap 1a a320neo. The sound is different
Cfm56 buzzing sound like a Airbus a340
CFM leap sound like a GEnX, rolls Royce Trent xwb etc
Hard to choose one🤔
I like cfm56
CFM56 have very much exhaust roar, is very annoyed
the LEAP Sounds Butter than the CFN 56
Definitivamente NEO (New Engine Option)
CEO= current engine option
LEAP yes.
Cfm 56😍😍😍
Clearly the NEO engines for me.I work at the airport and these engines sound like they are singing when the aircraft is taxing.
Definitely the ceo I don’t like that high pitched sound and the rumble is much better for the ceo
NEO for sure. And sounded great in seat 9A dep from LGW last week.
Its better there is some noise, than no noise🙄
It is better if it quiter....
Trust me! CEO sounds at the beginning good but later you will appreciate how silent those Leap engines are
NEO😍
Older engines were a lot more bassy. Or is it just me?
Definitely the A320NEO engine. Since it is more powerful, more efficient (idk that one), and it's position is more to the top
Edit: And good sound, less sound more quite
CFM 1A sounds more GE90
Leap 1A *
@@GoodMoneon manufactured by CFM
Leap - just sounds more purposeful for some reason.
Whats wrong with the camera, so much missing...
Neo sounds sooo good
Does indeed.
Howling...
No
CEO sounds better
NEO
second
0:40 HOW CLOSE???
CFM LEAP 1A best
I love the CEO CFM56 engines cuz they have a beautiful roar. But NEO sounds like 777x (GE90 engines) and I don't like the roar. What I only like in NEO CFM Leap engines is that they are more quieter than the CFM56 CEO engines
Same, CEO sounds more appealing
A320NEO is my favorite. I love a good whining jet engine
Two
Max powers are mini genx
NEO, better sound, better performance
Should have done leap vs IAEs they sound better than the 56
I have got a video in the works comparing the CFMs and IAEs as now we have Wizzair at SEN. Personally I think the Bizzsaw on the CFM better but the IAEs have better sound starting up. Also once I have flown in all engine varients of the 320 I will do a videos comparing the noise levels of all engines.
A320CEOs are the CEO of the A320 family. Lol
The neo A320 really sounds like the B777-300ER....the engines just reach High RPM faster...
I prefer the CEO the classic.
I tell you what, if you combine the spool up of the CFM LEAP with the roar of the CFM56, it will be just perfect!!!
Perhaps someone can edit that ;) Tbh the CFM LEAP does actually buzzsaw! Often very faint but you can definitely hear it on some 321NEO videos!
Bad for the passengers
@@SOUTHENDAVIATION Yes you can hear it but only some time after takeoff through the climb. No buzz saw on takeoff as a passenger when sitting in front of the wing. Have you noticed it is replaced instead by a high pitched nauseating whine instead? How is that not annoying?
I rather the og CFM56-5b
Ceo engines are mini ge cf6
Cfm56 is an engine from late 70s , leap is a few year old geared . conclusion :
No comparison
Why can't we compare them? Yes they're 2 very different designs and are years apart but they both serve the same purpose, to power airliners. The major differences between them gives us every right to compare them because it shows how far aviation has come. Also the LEAP is not a geared turbofan, you're thinking of Pratt's PW1000GTF.
Aaaand the old engines WIN! Love the classic CFM-56 especially the older -5A variant!
What is the flight path that ascends east to west along the Thames? It can’t be Stansted surely?
That would be for London City.
Ascending east to west?
Never seen that before...
SOUTHEND AVIATION they do that am pretty sure
i tought the engines of the neo were from pratt and whitney
Some are, the 320NEO has 2 options, the PW1000G and the CFM LEAP. 👍
Both have a good sound as modern jets go but it never beats the sound of a good old PW JT8 engine
I'm old school too, 100% agree with you!
You'd feel much differently if you'd be hearing them all they. The new, geared engines are much more comfortable to live with.
@@attilazk I've flown in the back of MD80s, some of the best flights I've ever had! I'd never get bored of an old and loud aircraft!
@@attilazk Not really, engines make most noise on takeoff and the initial climb. the higher the plane climbs the less noise it makes, and it makes no loud noise during the cruise.
Its what your used too, for me the Neo has a bit more noise
You should a video cfm56-7 on the 737-800 vs the cfm leap on the 737max 8
It's on the list ;)
So it seems we are going back to whining engines!
idk why I hate the neo engine blades so much lmao the original a319 was so much easier to look at.
Two very different blade design it has to be said, I can’t decide which I like more.
I prefer the neo
NEO is super silence and more power
Small GEnX
