    This resonates with a pharse of Miyamoto Musashi "There is nothing outside of yourself that can ever enable you to get better, stronger, richer, quicker, or smarter. Everything is within. Everything exists. Seek nothing outside of yourself"
    And also i find it similar to an idea which idk the original author, which states "Writing is not the outcome of thinking, Writing is the medium in which thinking takes place" which i belive one can benefit of arranging better thoughts with this excersise

      Oooo I love that. I'll have to look into those quotes, sound very cool. There is a power inside all of us that would blow us away is we truly brought it out. It's something that doesn't need external things to validate. I think the external world helps you evolve your relationship to the power already within you. Also yes writing is thinking. that's what happens in this exercise, thank you for bringing up. What happens to me when I do this is that I literally write phrases like "maybe I could..." or "hmmm actually I want to..." and its thinking in real time. for me it can be more helpful than just in the mind because im forcing myself to think and connect. also another quote that this all reminds me of is "If we did all the things we are capable of, we would literally astound ourselves." - Thomas A Edison
      thank you so much for the comment, so happy this resonated. keep searching!

      @kimkrallmann5333 Před 10 měsíci +36

      @@grukoin2789You're right, new information comes from outside the mind, but this is not what the video is about. It's about trusting your gut to make a good decision, without waiting for an an outside sign or force to confirm it, because your gut naturally does what is right for you. All you need is trust, and 20 minutes of just writing out those uncensored thoughts in the morning will really help to clear the mind by bringing out what your mind subconciously knows on the paper.

    • @grukoin2789
      @grukoin2789 Před 10 měsíci +15

      @@kimkrallmann5333 yes, that's fair, i was specifically making reference to the "There is nothing outside of yourself that could ever enable you to get better..." quote from the original comment.
      I partially agree with the the idea in the video, the one you're reiterating. I think writing freely with trust is really helpful in aligning yourself, finding your needs and what you truly want. Taking everything your gut says for granted is a fallacy, i think, there's plenty of old programs in there that can keep you in an unfilfilling comfort zone

    This is one of the best advices I've ever seen on CZcams. I've personnaly experienced it but a bit deeper : I've spent 3 days to do nothing but write. That means that when I had nothing to write, I was still, sat on the floor. Not in a meditation way, but chilling way. This is an extremely deep process, where I've written about 200 pages, and came out totally changed, accepted everything about me, let go of a lot of things. I recommand to everyone to do it. Thanks Tozak for sharing this video!

    I’ve been doing this since jr high when one of my English teachers taught this. She taught us to try to focus on something else while our hand was writing- that way you’re truly pulling from the *unconscious* mind and getting the conscious mind out of the way by distracting it…After some practice you’ll be amazed at what comes out of you… either amazing writing, ideas, deep solid intuitions, answers or solutions to problems etc . You can even get an idea of some deep seated beliefs you have about yourself and the world and what’s holding you back (fears etc) . It’s pretty crazy how it all works and is one of the best ways of “communication” we have with the sub/unconscious.

    • @DudeOfTheWeek

      Can you explain this a bit more thourughly?
      Do you just concentrate on another object, say lookijg at a spot on the wall and not allowing yourself to think, whil wriying with your hand?
      Or allowing thoughts to come but trying to not listen to them and concentrate on the spot ob the wall?

    • @tansley67
      @tansley67 Před 10 měsíci +18

      Perfectly said. It's literally like my subconscious was talking and I was just trying to keep up. I was observing and not trying to focus too much on stuff was being said and then written. I think I'll try your technique with focusing on something else and trying to just write my thoughts. I remember hearing birds chirping this morning and loving that sound. ☺️🤗😀 Honestly this exercise is what I want from regular journaling but it's hard to get down to the real issue. Journaling first thing in the morning is like journaling elevated and even though I've only done it the one time it was pretty mind blowing to experience the continuous stream of consciousness and write it down as fast as I could. I think I got 98% of it on my first try today. ☺️🤗😀 I can't wait to do this tomorrow.

    • @whitneyangelie3682
      @whitneyangelie3682 Před 10 měsíci +43

      @@DudeOfTheWeek You could do that if it works for you . I wouldn’t say it’s “not allowing your mind to think” tho-that’s putting too much pressure on yourself and will probably have the opposite affect. It’s more like allowing your mind to zone out or concentrate on something else while writing. You can light a candle and focus on the flame as you write (I do that a lot, it’s extremely hypnotizing ). I like to turn on music and zone out on that while letting my hand just write and write. The idea is to occupy the “monkey mind” (ie the conscious mind) and once you can kinda get that out of the way and give it something else to do, the unconscious mind can take the wheel. But you don’t want to *force* it, you just want to redirect it, like you would give a child a toy to play w in order to stop them from crying for attention lol- same idea.

      @@tansley67 Nice! It really is amazing what’s bubbling just under the surface of our mind. So many answers are there if we can just *listen* and allow ourselves to get it all out to access it….And yea ita first thing in the morning is good, especially if you start writing the second you wake up when your mind is still between sleep and wakefulness, you can access so much in that state. And that’s cool about the birds chirping, you could focus on that while you write, that’s a beautiful distraction lol.

It is the most beautiful and therapeutic thing I've ever done for myself and I'm telling you from someone who would always keep their thoughts inside and was very confined that you can come out too. I would always try and talk to other people who probably weren't in the right head space to give advice or to talk about whatever I was dealing with. I realized that sometimes you really gotta sit down and talk with yourself.

    Decades of experience have taught me that my gut is often wrong. But you still have to listen to it, and sometimes you have to take the risk and choose the best action you're aware of, rather than forever seeking external approval or agreement. This sounds like a great exercise for getting in touch with your instincts and understanding what you really want to do.

      Wow really?? My gut is almost always right without fail. But when I say my “gut” I mean the real and true automatic instinct. It’s the answer that whispers, almost never shouts. It will come through quietly and pass quickly. It’s usually neutral and matter of fact….My fears, ego, hopes etc can sometimes be confused for a “gut feeling” but when truly examined it’s NOT that. It has a slightly different feeling and is a bit louder, more obsessive and has a stake in the outcome. But when you learn to separate the two, and learn to feel the real gut feeling, your instincts almost never fail you.

    • @batlin
      @batlin Před 10 měsíci +3

      @@whitneyangelie3682 yep really. My gut is 100% not a crystal ball, and I've blindly followed it more than once only to realise a serious and avoidable error after it's too late.
      Your distinction between gut and fear/ego/hopes is important though, it makes sense that it would be easy to confuse them. I'll say one thing -- when I've acted in accordance with my gut AND done some thinking and information gathering (external + internal), THEN even when it goes wrong I rarely regret it, because I was at least being true to myself.

I really understand how you feel about having an 'incorrect' gut, as I have never been able to differentiate my gut from my paranoia and impulsive thoughts. It quite frustrating, and as a result I've tried to be as pragmatic and logical as possible. I started a morning journal a few months ago, it started out more similar to yours but it sorta became this 'prayer/meditation' book. I struggled with anxiety for most of my life, and It may sound silly but this morning journal SAVED me more than therapy or anything has EVER done.. Just putting gratitude on the page first thing in the morning, reflecting on on the day before, being thankful for the day to come. Even if I did not have a great day,maybe something bad happened, or am feeling negative, I reframe it in words like "overcoming and learning through challenges which push me to grow" rather than 'experiencing something negative that makes me feel bad'. Our minds are so powerful and I have changed from being a mostly negative, overwhelmed person to calm and grounded. Because I start my day with peace and appreciation for all. This doesn't mean I no longer feel bad emotions or anxiety, but it no longer takes me away like it always did, and I genuinly feel lighter and happier. All thanks to a dollarama notebook.

    Excellent. I did this for a while in the '90s, then for a long time didn't do it, and when I got fired on my birthday in 2020 I decided this is what I'd do. I found a coffee shop as my "workplace," I'd get dressed "for work," go in every day, and sit and write -- three pages or two hours. That went on for a year and a half, until I got hired. I was really excited to start my job, which I still have, but realized that I probably wouldn't continue writing. I told myself that yeah, I could get up earlier, write for at least ten minutes a day every day still...and no, I haven't done that. I do write for my two hours daily on the weekends or on days off. Now I'm learning Duolingo (Spanish) instead of writing daily. I need to get the writing back in there, though. There DEFINITELY is a benefit to writing something every day, DEFINITELY a spiritual connection. I'm going to try 20 minutes. Thanks for the video. Very well done and inspiring.

    To be sincerely honest in my humble opinion without being sentimental of course and without offending anyone who thinks differently from my point of view and my opinions and also without hiding any thoughts in my mind and without lies to the actual truth to clear my open mind and clean heart, expressing my full opinions which I didn't say, just because I was nervous and not sure how anyone would take it. But Today, by gathering all the courage and information from my experiences, I just wanted to say being honest with myself and to-myself and to others that after much thought and consideration that the more I think about it that I actually feel and think that I have absolutely nothing to say.

    Recently (due to extreme stress) it occurred to me to try to do night pages before I sleep in order to clear my mind and help me sleep.
    It's been amazing.
    I don't look over the night pages after I write them. I just go to sleep. I don't look at them the next morning either. I'll probably never look at them again. Might as well burn them because they immediately become irrelevant after I write them.
    BUT, the next day, my morning pages are amazing!!!
    Night pages clear my mind before sleep and the next day my morning pages are so much better, more insightful, more helpful.
    Please try it and see what you think.

At first the journaling was about all the negative thinking and what I was feeling at the time however, through the years of journaling, a strange thing began to occur. In my stream of writing , I sometimes experienced the answer. It would flow even faster than my normal writing and with the precise answers. The words would calm a lot of my fears and also be quite true. The action of writing goes into your subconscious and that part of you has a lot of power. I tell my sons to write it down because it goes into your subconscious and then that part of you gets things done.Thank you for sharing! Very insightful and true!❤️❤️

    Your answers are always your life experiences and a lot of your life experiences you can't remember anymore. A lot what you have in mind are unprocessed information. You got literally bomb through the day with data. So the mind is connecting everything by rethinking. Journalling mainly helps by getting structure into your thoughts and get them out of your head. Worries are also self created. Finding answers and solutions also works a with getting into distance of yourself and looking at all you know from a different perspective. You can also create answers and solutions with a different out of the box approach.
    Asking others is often semi constructive simply because they aren't you and some people especially those who are in your close circle aren't able to look at things from a different perspective and likely try to influence you in their favour.

    I have to say this was a spot on video. Glad I spotted this. I feel like I attracted it to me. I’ve been wanting to be more consistent in journaling/writing for some time now. I’ve been journaling in intervals but struggle with what to write about because I have so many things run through my mind on a daily basis. Should I write about this or that? What is the most important thing I feel I need to write about to get clarity? The last time I journaled heavily about a topic, the ego, was during my South American adventure earlier this year. I wanted to get clarity on this topic and dig deeper into it and I discovered the answer to something I had been wrestling with within myself. It was such a therapeutic experience writing about it over the course of 11 days. But one thing that resonated with me in this video is your emphasis on intuition and trusting yourself. I’ve said it many times myself everything we need to know is already within us. But we look for external validation to reaffirm what we’re thinking or feeling. While the answer is already there vibrating inside of us. As a buddy of mine said a few years ago, “our gut is our real brain.” Excellent video! Keep moving forward in your YT journey. I think you’re going to do well. And maybe we could link up at some point as me and my buddy, that I mentioned, are on our journey to starting our YT channel/podcast.

Writing can force it out. Thats an amazing experience you had with it. I think one of the best things we can do is cultivate our relationship to our intuition and inspire others to do the same. because then we can collectively unlock the greatest power there is, a force to truly change the world if unleashed in a positive way. Love hearing the Artist Way come up more often. Valuable stuff for everyone but people in this day and age need it especially now more than ever, and especially the younger you are, so great recommendations i suggest everyone engage with that book and workbook in some capacity!

      such true words, we are becoming more disconnect with our innate abilities, so important to exercise our minds, our hearts, our creativity and ideas, I believe its our greatest superpower, and we need to work with it more instead of handing it over to over things to do the work for us

    I love how you edited this video. Thanks for the content, it's very helpful and useful. When we first get out of bed is when we're in a really good flow state, so I usually take the first 20 minutes in the morning to write.

    I would like to mention... One should not put a time, routine or structure when discovering themselves and the environment that we manifest on an internal and external stage. I have gone through alot of time where I am alone in a city. During these times where I am experiencing LIFE, the HERE and NOW... I tended to build these systems and routines as I have come to realize certain perspectives and different ones. With this structured approach I was soon chasing something again - but now, I have the ability to review myself thoroughly. So moral of this comment is that one should always be acting rather than debating. One should not think if they did not journal, plan or structure their day properly within the usual hours or in the morning, that doing any sort of writing would be a waste of time due to the fact that it may be to late. One should feel free! That they can and must do what is willed for them ;)

    Great video! This is also called Automatic Writing. I always do this whenever i woke up at 3-4am (i somehow always waking up at these time) i just grabbed a pen and a book, write whatever comes to mind, most of the time it was a motivational word, telling me to keep trust the divine plan for me, that theres a purpose on why im here etc. In a spiritual perspective, this is also called Downloads, where u download all the messages from your higher self/spirit guide/universe or whatever u wanna call it, directly to you. It’s always fun to read it all back what i wrote the next day because the messages always resonates. 😊

    I've been finding myself doing something similar to this recently. I decided to start journaling, and while it's not very consistent, I find that a lot more is written down than I was thinking before I started writing an entry. I've been just writing down interesting moments and dreams, but have been wanting to start jotting down some random thoughts I've had, but I haven't started doing that part yet.

    You’re so on point! I’ve always been journaling and it allows me the freedom “to be heard” even if it’s just me listening to me. Thanks for Julie Cameron’s book! Will get it.

    Thanks for this video. Sometimes, i feel very tired and melancholic...and it is for me a must to continue my journaling routine, and my stream of consciousness is one of the few things that is very dear to me. It's really excellent when we begin to be with ourselves, understand ourselves and find ourselves through writing.

      Yes yes, I think in our world its very easy to lose touch with ourselves, it feels like most people have never journaled or done stream of conscious writing but its so important, thank u for ur words!

    It is actually 3 pages every day. She recommends writing 3 pages every day as soon as you wake up. The exercise is called Morning Pages. After writing your morning pages she strongly recommends saying creative affirmations. That 20 minutes also sounds good.
