@@baval5 so what we are seeing is the very beginning of the whole saga. This is before the council knows how magic can be used with items, before Powder becomes Jinx, before Vander becomes Warwick and before Singed becomes Singed. A lot of changes in the time gap which we will see in the second week of Arcane. Heimer's whole attitude will change once they know how to use the power of Arcane and he will start inventing stuff. So the lore isn't incorrect, you are just not taking the time jump into account.

@@makok5825 I don't think it'll work out even if Jinx didn't jinx it. The deal was for Silco to turn in Jinx, which he didn't do, and due to the event on that episode, wouldn't turn up either, so it might not even matter if the Piltover agreed since it would be a one-sided deal.

@@Smortn yes they are. The undercity is still Piltower in Arcane, but topsiders abandoned them. They use to be mining crew and hard workers, and they are now just left behind by the top class. They don't even have law enforcers, they trust people like Vander can handle the place, which is messed up.

You can see the team behind Arcane used this as a testing piece for their animation style. Heimerdinger is basically the same visually. The "apprentice" kid kind of looks like a skinny version of Claggor.
Ekko and Jinx seem to have had a rework/adjustments made further down the line in terms of the look they were going for.
Pretty cool seeing this piece in hindsight.
The team behind Arcane also were the creators of the get jinxed short from 2013. Looking back at Jinx's original short her face has changed a lot throughout the years.

Oh I see now. This little short displayed the "True Genius(es)," which is Heimerdinger, Jinx and Ekko. They unknowingly collaborated on a project to make hextech items.
Heimer created the core, Jinx transformed into a rocket, Ekko give it two wheels, and finally Heimer upgraded so this could fly.
That's progress and innovation.

well Heimerdinger had no idea who made the modifications and also Heimerdinger completely altered it to generate vertical thrust to allow for hovering and flying. This would be like saying that the Wright brothers ripped off Karl Benz invention (first car with an ICE) because their airplane used an internal combustion engine.

Arcane makes it clear that Heimerdinger and Singed were the original pioneers of magic + science, and Heimerdinger is only opposed to it now because his inventions just ended up fueling a war somewhere (probably involving Demacia). With where S1 of Arcane leaves off with him, it's safe to assume he's going to do some soul searching and Ekko will probably remind him of the good that magic can do. I mean come on, he was already warming up to the idea and encouraging Jayce and Viktor to keep up their studies, he just wanted them to be obsessively safe about it.
Ekko building a hoverboard I think confirms him being a firefly or even the firefly leader, so it makes sense for him to grab vi.

This could be testament of his character for the acceptance of Hextech/Hexcore in the future. Remember Ziggs will probably shows up in his story and i wonder how his character can drastically change because of Ziggs

The reason Ekko can jump back in time is due to Skarner and his species crystals.
For more information, read Skarner, Jayce and Viktor lore. Ekko picked up a piece of the crystal and used it as a way to rewind time.

This cinematic hits hard after the last episode in arcane
Yeah when I watched this for the first time I though it was cool to see characters gaining life and some of their uniqueness as the world they live in. Now, one year late, after seein Arcane I got to know them more personally, diving into their psychological, so when I rewacth this it is impossible to not project the their inner battles and struggles into this mischievous although heart-lighted chase.
Jinx kind of called that shot early.
The ending shot is basically the ending of Harry Potter and the prisoner of Azkaban..
and the harry potter ending is basically the ending of matrix.. coincidence?

Heimer made a completely different thing though. Ekko's skateboard inspired him, but he made a hovercraft. The hextech core was his to begin with. I find it weird how people act like Heimer just stole Ekko's invention, when 90% of it was Heimer's own design.

Blame fishbones
Everyone saying Heimer stole the invention is missing the point. Ekko never "claimed" it, and Heimer never really "claimed" it either. It's showing that both sides have their geniuses and that together they could accomplish things they'd never be able to alone. Ekko improves on it, and then Heimer improves on it further. Ekko doesn't seem upset by his invention escaping him, and Heimer seems more excited by the fact that someone tinkered with it than he does angry. The real sad part is that both sides will never reconcile, so progress is half as fast as it could be.
This and there is also the fact that Heimer invented the power source in the first place.
Meanwhile people are forgetting that jinx is also part of this, even if it only does a basic function.

because it was not completed in arcane, but in this cinematic its after powder became jinx, vander became warwick, v.v basically after hextech got accepted and people know how to control it easily
