    "Wear a mask if you have to, create an entire alter ego" It's crazy how a literal monster can be so in touch with the plights of the common man and potential solutions to their problems. Good advice once again Maker Monster.

    I love how you and so many CZcams crafters, artists and makers are supportive instead of competitive. They are very willing to share that thing they're a step or two ahead of someone on. I feel lucky to have found this friendly corner of the Internet. And you blink. Did you blink before your makeover? :)

You have made an impact and I appreciate you. I've committed to being a serial learner of things and a perpetual teacher of stuff. Much love. 💀🖤⚙🤘

    This was a great TED talk … and now I understand why TED is TED as he has a Teddy head …. Also one think to add that I’ve learn is to do something because you like it…… not to get better or to sell or to impress or anything other than you just like doing it…. Just like eating cheesy crisps

    I was just watching another video where he was giving some advice that his father gave to him.
    Give yourself a chance, and don't be afraid of it.
    I'm a programmer and suffer from Imposter Syndrome daily...
    PS: I don't know how to drive 😳

    At first, I thought, "What is he talking about?" Then I realized that this is a real danger in my life too. Even just last week. Maybe even today. Many nails were hit on the head here.
    I wonder what you would advise to those who are taking your advice but find themselves called imposters by those with more experience. I see this in jewelry making circles regularly.

    • @TheMakerMonster
      @TheMakerMonster  Před 3 lety

      I think there's always going to be people in certain groups that will judge anyone else just starting. Sometimes they're also upset at someone else doing better when they "know more than they do." It's way easier to learn from someone who just learned a certain jewelry technique, than say, someone who's been doing it for decades and have completely forgotten what it's like to not know how to do it.
      And, sometimes people are just jerks. If someone just learning a process bugs them that much, they've got bigger personal issues to deal with.

    You can do all the things you do and not publish it. Nobody would know you're just a guy talking to himself in his garage with a mask on. If you're living by standards that are healthy and are always reaching for humility, you're succeeding and growth is guaranteed. You don't need anything else. You're not incomplete without a channel or a weekly video or thumbs up. You wouldn't be failing if you walk away from it tomorrow and never look back. A lot people are happy to accomplish something without thinking if they should. I don't think shooting for the stars at all costs (which is a common positive message) is actually good advice because you lose the humility part and (some definitions of) success are not guaranteed.
