      Thank you I find I am doing more but get irritable and cranky with people the next day- which I hate a d I'm sure they do too ! I am thinking maybe its about not doing too much even though on a few days I have felt so good, i feel like i want to do all these things . Thank you for your calmness, it is very reassuring.

    LOL I had to laugh. Before I started getting sick - and for me it's been a long, slow, slide. Before, I hated all housework. Now, I want to do the work. My poor husband has a full time job and carries all the weight at home, too. But after a just a week, I'm seeing tiny improvements. Any symptom I get, I physically stop. Do a relaxing visualization until the symptom subsides, then I move on. Just the fact that I can do visualizations or meditation again is amazing. I couldn't even do that for years. I think I had the slow slide, because I kept a positive attitude for sooo long. I'd really latch onto the good times, and tended to ignore the crashes, but each little crash, was bigger than the last until none of them were little, and the good times were fewer and farther between. Recovery, the way I see it, is like building a castle out of blocks. (Retired kinder teacher, here). You can't build the whole thing out of just one kind of block, it takes lots of different blocks. Recovery doesn't happen with just one strategy. Diet, brain-retraining, avoiding stressors - even the ones we like, dipping a toe back in an old hobby we used to love, . . . all this and more. And just like the castle we build with blocks, we sometimes crash. Since I've just begun this road, I'm ready to do a reset if I have crash. I'm feeling a bit better and I'm wanting to do more than I should. It's hard to hold back and pace myself. I'm not going anywhere outside the house yet, but I have made my own lunch the past 4 days! We have a very lightweight, cordless vac and I did use it yesterday. That felt GREAT! So thanks for this video. I want to acknowledge my progress and encourage myself to continue to fight.

    This is very helpful, thanks Toby! My "signs" are not the headline ones like, "I just went skiing for the first time in 12 years," but more like "I am cooking more and not eating so many frozen meals," and "I am actually doing a bit of cleaning around the house." These tend to get lost in our consciousness for those of us who still have major symptoms that feel like headlines, but now that you highlight them, they are there!

    12 months ago... It was much the same and 6 months ago I was better but why else would I be watching recovery coaching videos... I've been ill for a decade though... I'm still seeing friends I haven't seen since Covid and they have been commenting how much better I look since they last saw me years ago. For the first time since 2015 I've been thinking about working... Agricultural labour no less!

    Something I realise Im getting better when I start to notice how Im looking !!! Like most women I like to look good but being bedbound for almost a year I gave up showering ,washing my hair ,didnt even brush my hair for days on end .I was too since too. Sick to care .Now I try to look good put on some make up choose nice clothes to wear.All signs of improvement for me !!!!! Thanks Toby from Ireland ,long time sufferer from fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue.😊

    This has been my experience over the last year or so and can relate to 6 of your points. I also had to smile Toby when you mentioned wanting to do jobs like washing and cooking. I had realised I was experiencing this and was a bit surprised. So you struck a cord with me and affirmed my progress. The hardest thing now is to not focus on the smaller symptoms and remember how far I have come!

      7 years for me too. I'm a Christian and trusting God for a full recovery, examining myself for sin in my life and repenting. Noone knows how awful the symptoms are and how you just put a face on because let's face it. Noone wants to hear your complaints..just feeling very down but know better days will come..need to count my blessings while I'm having a bad flare up. Godbless everyone going through this horrible illness.

    2020 Wiped out..Could hardly put socks on or walk a minimum distance
    Even make meal.
    2024 Love putting washing on and the pleasure of hanging clothes out to dry.
    Can cook and enjoy my food.
    Even taken an interst in my appearance
    Skin healthy...I can laugh again.
    I've taken interst.in my garden plants.
    I went through full hysterectomy last June 2023.
    I thought, this will set me back for various reasons.
    I.didnt, I were dis charged following day.
    The morning I were going home I got up yes it wete effort hence surgery.
    I washed dressed, and were home in afternoon.
    Mindset didnt do even at that....I knew to keep calm for sake of my fstigue mai trained good calm breathing and faith in medical team
    So I guess, I'm.strong and determined
    .

    Many thanks for this video. I am a carer of CFS family member, after a very long period (over 24 months), seeing all the signs of coming alive again. Interestingly doing house chores, and more cooking and wanting to do dishes etc. CFS videos are my lifeline to keep my sanity for this many months. Once again, your help is very much appreciated.

    Thank you for sharing this! After twenty four years of illness, I discovered recovery stories and programs on youtube only half a year ago, and I started to apply principles from some of those channels, but I felt like there is not much progress yet. But listening to you, I now see I made more progress then I realised. My eyes and skin look much healthier, I am hungry all the time, I do more of the little everyday things like doing the dishes after dinner instead of the next morning, I cook dinner almost everyday instead of a few times a week and I am able to read a book in a few days instead of weeks or not finishing it at all. So my biggest challenge now is to keep myself from wanting too much too fast. That feels way easier now that I realise I am already on that path of recovery and patience will bring me faster where I want to be.

    Wow! That was lovely to hear because I'm seeing all 7 signs. How long after you feel this much better do you try some things other than animal protein and good carbs? I feel much better eating this way but wonder sometimes how or when or should I ever expand my diet? Thank you, great video

    You have everything covered right down to our poos.
    For some reason at the start of my Healing Journey, I noticed my poos weren’t right at all. They’re not as bad as they were but they’re not consistently formed either, but at least they’re only once a day now and not watery🙏
    My mouth muscles are still shot, so I blend my food. The only solids I’m eating are a banana before bed and chopped fruit with my yogurt meal in the afternoon.
    I also believe that the fatigue in my muscles throughout my body, including my jaw muscles, will be the last symptom to disappear 🙏
    I will be forever grateful to You Toby, for all your tips and Guidance that You continually share with us. You are an absolute Godsend 🙏

    I drink filtered water, avoid sugar. Go to bed early, I have done nearly everything for 7 years to heal from this. I keep saying to people im getting better but still not able to go out a full week or in anyway keep up with normal people. Im.very sad as i got the cold then a sinus infection and i have such nad fatigue daily struggling to get through the day, migrainee etc all M.E symptoms. Just have to keep positive but after 7 years its hard.

    I have noticed that my poos are healthier over the last few weeks - yay! 😀 I had a period of doing better last year, not anything spectacular but certainly a little better in a general everyday way, but it all got swept to one side by moving house over the end of 2023 into '24. Moving house is stressful at the best of times, with ME/CFS it's been a total nightmare and has only recently started to straighten out. So, healthier poos are hopefully a sign that I'm back heading in a better direction? I'll take that. One step at a time. Thanks again Toby and team.

      This was exactly me! End of 2020 is when I got it. Struggled really hard for 2 years xoucn and housebound, and was back to about 65 to 75% capacity. Several personal stresses along with moving house on my own sent to me crashing back. Now I feel like I'm back to 20% again only, doing bare minimum, only going out once a week.for groceries, and trying to recover. I certainly want to get back to where I was again bc I had gone back to walling and even swimming.

      @@hshfyugaewfjkKS Yes I'd say I'm at that sort of level, maybe a little higher but not much. However, 3 months on from moving and life is calmer. Getting my place how I want it is a work in progress but is now much more at my pace and under my control. And because of that I'm coping better, and now finding some mental space to work on getting my baseline right. I hope things start getting better for you too. Best wishes.
