This was one of the best videos I watched I’m no expert but I feel prepared and confident to embark on my own journey with paint washing project I have been planning. I’ve watched a ton of videos and even invested in a couple books, painted a few things and after watching this video I feel ready the voice comments were extremely helpful and left me wanting more!! Sone people just talk for the sake of talking this woman only talks to give important information and encouragement. I’m a fan!!

I appreciate your mention on waxing techniques... I need to remember that viewers may not understand how the process works and I will definitely put some focus on waxing techniques for the future 😉
Clear wax application is to seal your project and adding any dark or black wax is for decorative aged effect and to be applied only after clear wax is completed first so you can add or take away dark or black wax for control.
I have some other fun techniques coming out over the next month , so I hope you enjoy and get value from the tutorials! Willa Johnson ... not sure if you saw my decoupage video? But I was super delighted with the results and you can simply print off any image you like ... and with regular stationary paper ... I did a step by step on what I did and to create an art painting to a mirror on a frame for a vanity desk. I have another piece just waiting for the makeover of chalk paint and the piece is perfect for another decoupage tutorial... looking forward to making that soon!
I also want to make a tutorial in the near future on how to do an image transfer , that is where you take your image and placing the ink of the image into your furniture piece so there is no paper left behind😉

Do you use clear Wax first, then buff it and then you Apply dark wax in specific areas of the Piece?

    Amazing as always!
The voice over is an improvement an it would be even more interesting if you "went all the way" with it!

Tatiana Marinaki ... thank you so much for your kind feedback 🙏💙... I wanted to add a little for a trail first ... so the original format and text is the same for those that prefer no sound ... but I have received a lot of requests for voice instruction in the tutorials... so I wanted to make a trail mix and see what comments I receive for this style tutorial.
It’s tricky to talk and work at the same time ... if your painting with one ☝️ colour and not much else to your project it would be easy to talk but when your in the process of creating... you are 🤔 thinking a lot and I don’t want to ramble and not be constant with my instructions or confuse viewers.
Thanks again for your comment 😉💛

Hello I love your techniques I am needing some help on getting started on a project? I have oak kitchen cabinets like the basic honey comb stain . I am wanting them to look distress /antiques but I don’t know where to start? I am looking at more like beige with a darker glaze color please can you help me with this please ?

    • @TheReclaimedHeirloom
      @TheReclaimedHeirloom  Před 4 lety

Hi if you are looking for a beige I would go with something with french linen or country grey and then use a darker glaze like general finishes burnt Umber. I highly recommend using a clear glaze first to control the amount of dark glaze to your personal preference, some prefer lots or some a little. I would suggesst you look at my channel lists on my glaze tutorials to get an idea on how to apply clear glaze and color glaze. I hope this helps! ❤️🙏🎨

Voice over is fine. Would like more of it and music a little lighter.

I really appreciate the voice over it’s much more easier to understand what you are doing
But the music sound level is too high in comparison with your voice level, I have to turn up when you are speaking but when you’re not...
thank you very much for this tutoriel kind regards

Hi Julie, Thanks for watching! my latest videos (approx last 9 videos) and going forward, I have voice and/or voice over along with text boxes. I have international subscribers speaking different languages and they like the current format to be able to follow along using the text boxes below so I will be keeping both formats (voice and text) in place to help everyone out. Thanks for subscribing!! 💕🎨

I just wanted to add some voice instruction to see if it helps for future tutorials 🎥... I have received a lot of comments in previous videos to add voice instruction so I really want to help the videos so everyone can be successful with their projects 😉💛... thank you again for your feedback 🙏

I noticed you leave the drawers in when painting. Is there a reason you don't do separate and does it cause any issues like sticking please?

Love the stenciling on the inside, the narrative is a plus...music a bit repetitive, great job.

Like ur video. The talking to people signing in is time consuming. All big brushes do beautiful work but individual conversation can b distracting. Thanks for demo
