I just wanted to recommend ''Flight of the Concords, but you beat me to it. The meetings with the agent (Rhys Darby as ''Murray'' is a riot!) are indeed hilarious, and every song and the musical sequences are fantastic!

The show you were talking about, Wellington paranormal is part of this universe. There are multiple cameos from this movie. In fact as i write this i remember that the 2 cops from the show appear in this movie 😂
It's been in development for a long time, but there are also plans to make a spin-off film, titled "We're Wolves". Wellington Paranormal is also worth a watch, starring O'Leary and Minogue from the film, and centred more around other supernatural happenings in the Wellington area.
If you have not seen Flight of the Conchords then you are Missing out

I've only seen a few clips! I really want to sit down and watch the whole thing. I did see Rhys Darby in a tiny venue at Just for Laughs in Montreal and I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so much.
I went into this film totally blind about the story and was pleasantly blown away! Very unique and original take on the subject matter. Great reaction!

Wellington Paranormal is so good, it's a follow up to the movie instead of the show and it follows the 2 officers from this movie
Mind you, it just whimsical. It has so much charm. Just don't expect endless hysterics. I recommend.

Lots of laughs and lots of jumpscares, a brilliant mockumentary great choice.
It's honestly absurd how funny this film is, I wish I'd seen it sooner than I did, it's one of my absolute favourites now.
I know people have gone off Taika, for whatever reason, but between this and Jojo Rabbit, I could never say a bad word about the guys work.

I have so many suggestions. The Rage In Placid Lake (with Ben Lee), He died with a Falafel in his hand, Animal Kingdom, Dogs in Space.. so many great Australian and NZ films to watch. In my fathers Den and Boy from NZ are amazing.

The show you were looking for at the beginning is "Wellington Paranormal" that show is sooooooo New Zealand 😂😂 the best part I loved about the movie you're watching was the little photos they had and the one that's gets me dying in tears of laughter is the 'Soda Stream with Blood' 🤣🤣 cause Soda Stream was a new big trend in the 80's🤣🤣

To go with already mentioned recommendations, you might like Our Flag Means Death. Its a comedy, and stars Taika Waititi and Rhys Darby (who were Viago and the Head Werewolf in this movie). Has a similar sense of humour to both the movie and show.
Then as far as New Zealand movies, Boy and Hunt for the Wilderpeople are good, but since I know you can like drama too, I'd also recommend Whale Rider as well. Take care all.

Wellington Paranormal is absolutely brilliant
This movie got me into Norma Tanega which I'm grateful for. The first thing I did after watching it was buy the album Walkin' My Cat Named Dog. It has by now paid for itself a hundred times over. SO good.
I love Wellington Paranormal. The two cops are dryly funny. Not all episodes hit the mark but it’s unique in comedy tv series. Also Flight of the Concords is great.
Taika Waititi is a brillaint actor. He starred in Jojo Rabbit - check it out it you haven't seen it.

You should watch "Pirate Radio" ! Great movie, Based on a True Story and Some great Actors... It would please the Final Boss.
Make sure you watch Jojo Rabbit if you haven't seen it yet. It's a World War II tragicomedy by Taika Waititi and one of my favorite films.
A handful of great Kiwi films to check out - before Peter Jackson gained fame with the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, he made three other great films, 'Bad Taste', 'Braindead' and 'Meet The Feebles' - also highly recommend 'Scarfies'

I liked deadloch a lot. I did find Eddie a little over the top in the first few episodes but I got used to her. I also really enjoyed Fisk.

For a while they were thinking of doing a sequel to this movie focusing on the Werewolves they encountered in this movie. This sequel was going to be called We're Wolves. Don't think it got of the ground unfortunately.

Wellington Paranormal is very funny for the first few episodes and then it kind of nose dives. The 3 leads are very good though.
