Any review of the MFR coming up? Just about to build a new all-road bike and thinking of ordering a set. Though I'm not 100% set on it yet as I haven't seen any reviews yet! I'm also not sure if I should pick the Sprint battery over the Standard one. It's $30 more so not much, yet the battery life on the Standard is 3x as long (80 hours vs 25 hours). I am currently using a mechanical 1x11 drivetrain and I'm totally satisfied with the shifting speed, so I guess I could just do with the Standard option.
I also haven't quite made up my mind about ordering the Archer remote shift buttons or just the Shift splitter and then source my own buttons, but I haven't been able to find any suitable ones with the 3.5mm headphone plug. The reason I might want the custom buttons is that the MFR remote buttons appear quite bulky, but I'm not sure if that's an issue in real life use aside from looks. The DBR buttons on the integrated Hylex brifter look quite a bit smaller than those of the MFR. Anyway, it would be great to hear some feedback :).
BTW. the 395mm chainstay frame design is incredible. I thought the 420mm chainstays on my new Open U.P. were short for an all-road bike with 700c x 40mm / 650b x 52mm tire clearance!

I have been running the MFR for the past few weeks and really like it. I am able to get the buttons in better positions for shifting compared to the DBR TRP Set up. I have found issues with the Spring Batteries disconnecting on rough terrain which was something Devin at Archer worried about. With it being 3 batteries, it is more prone to disconnect when you hit some rough sections. I am wondering if I could shrink wrap the 3 batteries together and see if that would address the issue. I prefer the Sprint batteries and just charge them more but I have gone back to the standard bc of the disconnect on the gravel rides I have been on. I have had 3 disconnects in the past 6 months but 2 were on a ride 2 weeks ago and you have to take the batteries out and put them back in to turn it back on. Really a bummer for my buddies riding with me.
I have not found any suitable 3.5mm jack buttons either. I wanted some smaller ones bc the archer ones are large so they will not fit into any internal routing on the bars. I am currently using some Di2 Tape to stick the wire to the under side of the bars and then the rest of the wire is hiding under the bar wrap. Here is a few pics on instagram of my MFR set up: instagram.com/p/CZ-IkTpufpy/?
Yeah it really is a peeve of mine that these gravel bikes have such long chainstays in relation to their front center. Many companies are getting better but a true gravel bike designed around 1x can go very short. I could probably get 385mm chain stays if I limited it to 40c tires but that is getting a bit ridiculous. :)

@@BlackWaterCyclist Thanks for your response! Good to hear some rider feedback about the MFR. I actually contacted Archer about choosing between Standard and Sprint battery and their advice was that if riding in very cold conditions (which we have in Finland), then the Standard would be recommended. Your experiences about the disconnections of the Sprint further makes me lean towards the Standard version.
I was actually somewhat concerned about accidental shifts when placing the remotes under the hoods or on the curved part of the drops, but having seen the picture of your setup with the buttons on the side of the brake levers, I realized there's even that option. Never even thought about it, thanks for the idea :). I should then find a pair of rigid brake levers, though. Currently having the Shimano mechanical hydros where the brake lever moves inwards so a button probably wouldn't work with it. Perhaps a SRAM lever could work but I would rather stay with Shimano as I don't like messing with DOT fluid. The TRP Hylex have quite long hoods and I would prefer shorter ones (hydraulic Shimano lever hoods are already long for my small hands).
Still thinking between the MFR and a Shimano Di2 11-speed setup. Your comments were very helpful, thanks again!
