Carrying a large amount of cash is a liability. You should always carry the amount you'd potentially see yourself needing in a scenario where credit isn't an option. Honestly, it's a bit heavy for normal day to day use, but I can see Warren Buffett both "not caring if he has $500 stolen", and much rather wanting to never be in a position where he is unable to pay for something just from the annoyance of people hyucking it up that they had to buy something for him because he 'couldn't pay'. But yeah, almost every business that charges high prices are not "unable to take credit cards". Redundancies are in play as it'd be nearly 100% of their transactions. It just doesn't make sense to use cash when credit makes you money when used correctly.
