How to Divide and Propagate Strawberry Plants

  • In this video I demonstrate how to propagate strawberry plants by division of runners and by reinvigorating old plants. Strawberry plants only live for a few years and so need to be divided and propagated through runners in order to keep your strawberry patch going.

    Interesting that you can reinvigorate the old plant. Most probably end up in the compost heap! Certainly saves on buying new plants every three years and also handy for sharing your stock with gardening friends!

      Yes, they are often not quite as strong as growing new plants from the runners, but they can be reinvigorated and will crop well again for a few years.

    How do I save my basil plant I accidentally made it loose all it’s roots

      If it has no roots anymore you may need to treat it like a cutting, remove its lower leaves and submerge half the stem in water until it starts to grow new roots.
