Towing like anything is a skill that takes a bit to learn particularly if you're trying to noodle it out by yourself but I would suggest practicing on something where nothing of value is lost by the inevitable mistakes, maybe a Prius.

That '56 would be perfect for a 2-door conversion because there's not much rust repair to be done and all the weld areas are solid. And...it would make a great hot rod project because all the stuff that usually gets replaced is already toast so it can just get removed and tossed. Disc brakes up front and a 9-inch in the rear would be good, with anyold smallblock and T5 would make it a great street runner. No need to be cutting-edge, just a clean, old-school hot rod like my friends had in high school. Good then, good now!

I like the 56s over the 57s, being a four door doesn't bother me. I would put in a new engine and a 5speed and just do some minor body work and gut the interior. Thanks for another great video and you can talk as much as you want.

So did they drain the oil and let it sit, or did it run out when it sat in water?
Either way, that sucks! Such a beautiful car. Thanks for another great video. 😊

My dad had a 56 Chevy for a little while and I remember the first time I ever drove it. The main thing that I remember about it is how easy and smooth the steering was even though it didn't have power steering , it felt like it did.

    • @Th3Sabator45

i think thats why the steering wheels were so big, too compensate for that.

Love the Channel and your Production Style. This 56 is pretty cool. If it were mine I would just clean it up and leave it a Patina Build. Could be fun to put something like a 4.3 l v6 out of an s-10. Good gas mileage and reliability. Ehh who am i kidding, I would probably just drive the s-10...

I think that since I don’t currently have a driveline for this, I’d go with an LS swap and make it a daily driver. I know, I know… overdone. But since I’ve never done one, it wouldn’t be overdone at my place

If you went to "Fab Rats" on U-Tube and watched the "Yellow Submarine" episode, this would have been what you would have expected with a ski boat engine sitting at the bottom of Lake Mead for 30 years. Worth the watch.

Need to wrap chain around the lower part of the hook then hook it to the top ! Also use a five foot 4X4 wood beam under the bumper so no damage accures

Glad to see another Will It Run video. Unfortunately, you can't win them all. I think if the lubricants had been kept in the engine, tranny and diff, despite sitting in water, it would have had a chance of recovery.

Hey brother a little helpful advice! For Bernie. Get a wooden 4x4 about five feet long and place it on the bumper brackets when you pull up the sling it won't put pressure on your bumper! I'm an old tow guy for many moons. peace brother love the show

Gotta love that 'Front-Rear-Both' speaker switch.
Back when all you had was AM radio, that was an upgrade to your 'sound system', but add the reverb later, and that was THE serious upgrade...(unless you had the 45 rpm record player, and lived around Beverly Hills.😁)👍🇺🇸😎
