AWB Issue isn't the camera. From what I can see at timestamp 5:00 you're using a circular polarizer which will change the colors of the image when rotating the camera from landscape to portrait.
Yea in a studio you'll eventually have complete AI automation of shots by combining Stable Diffusion with cheap 6 axis camera position control, 3 axis is already only $300 at 2.6lb max load. And a gantry system for the other 3 axis can be DIYed for $900 today. All that left is software developement. Having auto control of settings will be crucial to make this work.
Why would that not be compensated for by the auto? Like i agree its because of the filter but in theory the awb should compensate for it,
The colour of the sky and sand changes as there is less off both @@bloodybrit127
🤣@@cybyrd9615
Because it is the front-facing external light sensor that measures auto white balance.@@bloodybrit127
I feel you.. As a photographer, when I first experienced a tilting screen, all the cameras that doesn't have it are cameras that I will not consider getting. I love the tilting screen and it makes creative photography much more fun and easy.
As for the White Balance difference between horizontal and vertical: check whether there's a menu item "Priority Set in AWB" (the A1 has it, assume the A7RV too) and set it not to ambient - might be that different content between horizontal and vertical positioning leads the camera to different AWB decisions.
This is exactly what I was thinking.
Just a thought. It just may be as simple as your fingers covering the small external white balance sensor next to the grip when you shoot vertically which then causes errors in white balance estimations by the camera. One way to work it out is to use a tripod and self timer and shoot vertically and horizontally and see if the white balance issues go away as your fingers won't be anywhere near the sensor.
I've been shooting with the A-mount Sony A77ii and A99ii for nearly 10 years now, and one of the reasons why I refused to move to E-mount was the screen mechanism, which is almost exactly the same as what they've FINALLY added to the A7RV (hinge at the bottom instead of the new one on the left). It makes such a difference!
Same here! although I switched few years ago, I stilled missed the screen mechanism.
*i think* AWB evaluates the entire frame. I imagine vertical vs horizontal has more or less of the sky or beach. If you include more of the blue sky it may warm it up, If you include more of the beach maybe it will cool it down?😊
Outstanding observation
Makes sense
The A7R V like all newer Sonys has a small WB sensor next to the grip. Maybe he was blocking it
You hit the nail on the head.
Exactly!
Great review brother 🤘🏽 I’ve been blown away with this camera. Kinda crazy how good it is for video too. Think imma have to do my review now
Bring it brother can’t wait to watch it 👏👏👏
Oh an if you could can you touch on the “tracking on” feature and how you manage it in video?
Been with Fuji for 10yrs with a dozen lenses, sold all of it and swapped to the A7RV mostly for the 4-axis LCD and AI AF. That flip+tilt LCD is cool on paper but you won't fully appreciate it until actually using. Now I can't not have it.
Fixed the Sony grip issue by making my own custom grip. Thermoplastic is all you need! Heat a glob up, apply, grip like you want, give it 5 minutes to cool, bam custom grip perfect to your hands. Bonus it is removable like a mouth guard or retainer.
I’ll be more than happy to take that A1 off your hands 😮
😂😂😂
Yeah is the sucker giving it away?
I avoided the logical upgrade from a Canon 6D mk II to a 5D mk IV just because I didn't want to lose the super-handy flip-out screen... so I totally *get* what you're talking about. I ended up making a bigger jump to the R5 and got the screen (and a few other handy upgrades along the way.)
Switching from my Pentax K-1, I noticed my shots from my a7R V are a lot more yellow. Looking at the manual, I think the WB sensor is on the front of the camera near the mode dial.
I’ll try to be more conscious about not blocking that, might pick up a battery grip to help with that.
For switching eyes, I use the custom button on the lens.
Every time I shoot events with the z9/85 1.2, Sony/50 1.2… I want to take the A1 but take the A7RV because of the screen and I shoot more from the screen when shooting 2 mirrorless cameras. The Ai AF also helps so much from the back to front just like the z9
I had the R V for 3 months and I didn’t notice a white balance change when I‘m switching from horizontal to vertical (which I‘m doing quite often)
As a video-focused creator who also does photography I actually just upgraded my 7IV to the RV and I’m loving the upgrade on both photo and video. The AWB issue, I havent really noticed anything, but ive shot in very consistent lighting in studio an on location. I updated the firmware through, but suspect it could just be the camera reassessing the composition because you’re reframing the shot?
RV = R5?
@@saganandroid4175 yes
Not, I have shot R5, RV the AutoFocus is another Level @@saganandroid4175
Are you setting your WB setting to white emphasis? My A7III has yellow or white as a choice.
Man I took my A7RV to Iceland in March and my god is that camera a beast. Love being able to to change the file size in RAW. Helps save space depending on the situation.
Changing file size was a big limitation with the early Sony's. Nikon has always been able to do this.
@@gosman949 that’s awesome! Glad Sony finally did it. Helps a ton. I always don’t need 60 megapixel files.
It's a great feature! The Canon 5D Mark IV had this and I loved it and used it all the time. I kind of wish the R5 had this though Canon files are much smaller than Sony files and compressed raw makes them even smaller without any noticeable loss in quality. I'd still prefer a choice of resolution though.
@@77dris I shoot Sony but I miss the file size from the Canons. I have not seen any explanation as to why Sony's raw's are around twice the size of canon. People say Canons uncompressed raw, is compressed but that does not explain the size difference in Sony's compressed vs Canons compressed. Time is money and large files take longer to work.
@@gosman949 So it's solved right now, what's your point then? Nikon no longer is in the big market
About the auto white balance, check if the "bluer" images have more sand in the composition over all and if the more warmer or yellowish images had more sky/sea ( blue)... could that influence the wb shifting ? In example: 1 The camera sees more sand thinks the image is too warm sets a wb colder to balance...
2 the camera sees a lot of blue in the image thinks the lights are too cold tries to set the white balance warmer..
Great review! Lots of very valuable information here. Does anyone know if you see square frame lines in the EVF when you crop to 1:1 square aspect ratio? I hate rectangles and will never shoot anything but square. It would be very helpful if the square is then displayed in the EVF.
Regarding change in WB... Did you have it set to a preset kelvin temp or were you using "auto" ? Outdoor 5200/5000 ?
I didn't noticed the WB change with switching to vertical. But I instantly upgraded the firmware to 2.0 from the start. Maybe it was a firmware-issue? Do you keep DRO off or set to auto with your alpha?
Thank you very much Manny your videos are informative and very helpful. I have a question for you I have the Sony A7R5 and when I put my trigger for any of my flashes on my camera I lose my Live view on my camera as soon as I turn it off my live you is active and so I had to make one of the buttons dedicated to allowing me to use my trigger and use my live View. I noticed you did not do that how do you have your camera set up so your trigger does not deactivate your system.
For JUST photography if I already have the a7s iii, wich would you choose, FUJI XT% or the A7RV?
hey manny, im switching to sony and doing event and portrait photography and some all around photography....if i can only have 2 lenses...what should i get...or what should u get? thanks...im thinking 85mm and 35mm or 85mm and 24-70? also should i go sony or sigma? thanks so much
Yeap, i have come across to inconsistencies from the A7RV's AWB that's why i never shoot with AWB on any camera ever. It's just makes the post processing so much easier with either a custom white balance or even any preset wb like daylight. It just means that i will only edit one shot from 50 shots and paste the colors to the rest. With AWB this is impossible. i would only shoot awb if i need to share the images without post processing at all, straight jpegs. I've done a few weddings for friends that wouldn't pay as much so that's why i would share them straight away sooc
What are you talking about???? You can edit one photo from the same scene and paste the edit to the other photos with awb or fixed wb. This isn't video man.
@@RicanStudio If i am not mistaken you may see lightroom telling you that the images you've copy pasted your custom WB onto are all for example 5600K but in my experience this isn't the case at all when shot with awb. It's 5600K but from what lightroom thinks was originally shot at with awb. Meaning you may see different color tones on images that have the same kelvin value according to lightroom. Correct me if i am wrong cause i am far away from my computer now to properly test it but as i recall i would see edited AWB shots at 5600k that one would be warmer and the other would be cooler looking despite the fact that both of them were afterwards edited at a custom Kelvin of 5600.
Then there's also the signal to noise ratio that is changing when the AWB is off in your viewfinder, it also changes your exposure, yellowish warmer tones are brighter than bluer cooler ones thus if your awb chooses a warmer tone than what the scene needs then you will expose according to it and when you'll be in post processing when you will be cooling the image down towards blue you'll have to raise back up the exposure and thus introducing unwanted noise. While if you have already set a correct kelvin exposure as you wanted to straight from the start you would properly expose for that colour's brightness. Granted the noise you'll notice it's marginal but it's there, especially on a 61mpx sensor like with the A7RV it shows. This becomes a problem if you use AWB on sunset/sunrise shots, where most AWB algorithms will always choose a warmer WB thus making you underexposing the RAW file in the beginning.
So the "moto" AWB doesn't affect the RAW file is completely false.
Another reason i will avoid AWB is when i am shooting panoramas or focus stacked images, I can't have discoloration between frames i plan to merge and why should i worry about it in the first place and always have to think to change to manual AWB when i need to take a pano? I just leave mine fixed at 5800K(personal taste) and I'll almost never mess with it till i sell my camera. Except for certain occasions like astrophotography or night snowy landscapes which i need to cool down the scene and in some rare instances when it's heavily cloudy.
These reasons had me over the years totally avoid any auto settings on any camera, including AWB.
Even if my estimation on my first observation turns out to be wrong there's still the issue of not properly exposing scenes and introducing noise and also the discolouration you'll get between frames when doing, panos, hdr, focus stacks etc.
I'm curious about your experience with the sigma Art 85 1.4 focus. I'm running an a7r3 presently and debating switching to the canon r5 mark 2 when it releases or upgrading to the a7r5. I have used a sigma 50mm 1.4 art for about a year and a half and have noticed that while the auto focus seems to be working, most of the images I capture with it don't have good focus when using auto focus. When I switch to the 24-70 2.8 art that issues completely disappears even when shooting images of my constantly moving toddler. Not sure if I just have a bad lens or if the wider aperture lenses just struggle to get good focus lock with the Sony. Not something I ever experienced with any lens back in my canon days (though those were admittedly not mirrorless and much much lower resolution.)
I have not pulled out my A1 since I got the RV in Dec. I'll keep it for it's speed but it just feels dated to me with that old screen. I agree with you on all the points you mentioned. I hated the flip only screen or the A7IV. Being able to pull it away from the camera then flip it is a huge feature.
I'm looking forward to the A7V in a couple years :)
U can throw the A1, my way since it's useless to u in ur storage locker. Destination: Fairbanks, Alaska. 😎😎
About the AWB issue: Unlike previous models, this camera has a dedicated front-facing external light sensor for measuring auto white balance. You can see it at 0:37. It's the white dot. Just like the A1.
Maybe the issue with the color temperature is related to this light sensor measuring something different from what the camera was seeing through the circular polarizer filter at 5:00, which changes every time when rotating the camera.
Also, the camera looks like a pre-production unit as seen at 15:26
Boss man , do you think as a beginner i should get this camera ? Im looking for a good camera this one looks fire . I was lookin at r5 and r6 but then you stated sony is clutch because of the lenses .
A7IV does the same warm to cool AWB shift even horizontally between shots, I believe it’s because I’ve set AWB to the follow the selected focus point.
Check your metering, at least that fixed the variables for me with WB and exposure, especially outdoors. Many shoot matrix, which is not ideal for portraits. Once I switched to spot, or center weighted, the variable WB and exposure almost completely went away. Same when I was shooting wildlife.
I got to test it out when it was first released. It's unreal. I can't wait to actually own it
That’s really weird about the AWB when switching. I have the a7r5 and I haven’t noticed that at all. I shoot landscapes primarily and never had an issue with it.
Yeah it’s a fantastic camera, I personally don’t mind the texture as I prefer a more firm texture. One of the things I always disliked about the Canon was its mushy texture, so I think it’s kinda a personal preference.
AWB is always odd pretty much I ever used regardless of could show the behaviour you described so Yeah I’m familiar with that, it’s annoying but also really not more then quick fix in post.
Yeah modern Af is getting ridiculous accurate that it kinda gets a bit too easy.
Thank you for your video! Since you shoot on other camera brands, which brand has the best glass? We plan to switch from Canon to either Sony or Nikon. When we checked out DXOMARK's review on lenses, they rate the Sony lenses higher on sharpness. What are your thoughts?
Great video. I am a Nikon Z user z6/z7 II that has tilt screens, but I can see why you switched. That flip screen is quite something.
Are you using the Sigma 85mm 1.4 over Sony 85mm 1.4 nowadays? That's what it appears on the video. If I was shooting at these locations, I'd want to try some shots with the 135mm 1.8.
What's the best lens for travel landscape and portrait would you recommend?😊
CZcamsrs after each new Sony camera release since/including the A7III: "Sony has finally fixed the colours!"
I think the a6700 is the only one that has "fixed" colors (at least, they're very, very similar to Fujis for skintone). Even the A7Cii and A7IV have such janky colors in jpeg. I'm hoping they'll use the same recipe for upcoming releases because it really is a big annoyance. How hard can it be?
I have a7riv do you recommend the upgrade to a7rv ? I hope you advise me for upgrading or keep my current camera. Btw I have Fx3 for videos
lol this guy doesnt even reply to comments bro
Thank you for this video
Aren't you just shooting with strobe settings when your using strobes ... or you can dial in colour temperature manually too to keep it warmer or cooler ...
Great video! Seeing one of my close friends as the main model here was dope!
Am considering doing the switch. I have asked out on the internet and most people think i am out of my mind. But i don’t do high burst rates, nor do i do video.
Yup. The whote balance shift is real. The 7rv is still dope. It's become my main shooter for stills and video. A7IV became my secondary and 4k60 cam
Love all you vids Thank you so much for all you share!
with the white balance switching with a 90 degree turn - where you using a polarised lens filter?
I never really noticed any yellowing in my photos when I switched to Sony I noticed more magenta than anything. I had to go in to my auto white balance and adjust the colors and tone down the magenta. That’s nice that you can go in and fix that. My a7rv is truly an all around beast. Pair it up with the 135 gm, look out cuz your portraits will look razor sharp with a beautiful compression and bokeh.
Now I gotta check landscape and portrait WB when I get home
My Sony A7R5 seems to produce high noise regardless of setting.
In any setting compared to my DJI Inspire 3 & Sony A1 other full frame cameras
Anybody have any idea on why this could be?
Also, there’s a bug with AutoWB when shooting bracketing with Sony a1. It shows proper WB on the screen (even on previews), but the images turn out crazy yellow or orange. So annoying!
Manny have you compared Color Science & AWB of a7RV to a7IV for stills & video? Cheers!
Dear Manny , would your viewfinder get dust inside ? I bought mu A7RV last week and after using for 4-5 days I find some tiny dust inside.
No it’s weather sealed, possibly exchange it or try to blow it out as perhaps it’s not actually inside but on the screen itself
Thank you Manny. I've been toying with the idea of buying an A7RV. I would like the 61mp sensor because I do a lot of cropping. Also the fact that I can use all of my Sony mount lenses, with 28mp in APS-C mode. The Ai focus improvements would be key as well. However...
I appreciate the massive amount of data that has to be moved and how that impacts burst rates. I would really like more than 7 or 10 frames. Also with image quality lacking improvements, and the A7RV not being superior in low light it makes me wonder why I would upgrade. The flip/tilt screen is great but the fact is for me tilt is sufficient.
Your video is much appreciated and informative. For the time being I'm going to hold off on buying an A7RV.
nice review. I would be interested to have one tuto showing your a7rv custom buttons for photo and video and Fn menus. also if you use BBF with AFON and if you have investigated new tracking + AF feature in video mode as described by PM-R TV channel for sport video shooting.
so which one is better Sonny A1 or A7V shooting video & taking picture
Getting mine soon!
Thanks for this review!
The most well laid out and explained video on this camera and it's real world pros/cons I've watched. Well done sir. Sub'd
Hi. About the yellowish tint with Sony how does it compare with sony a7s3 ?
The A1 apparently with its stacked sensor has little to no rolling shutter. The A7RV has as much as the A7 IV I am told. Slow sensor readouts. So for video, the AI still has to be better, no?
Manny Great Video.Very good so love everything you explained and you are so right. Thank you so much for sharing.💯✌️
With such a variety of CZcams creators switching over to Sony, it almost feels “strange” being a Nikon shooter. Still, I personally find the Z-mount FF cameras to meet my needs and preferences beautifully, so I’m not even considering changing brands. Especially due to the overall UX (great ergonomics and ease of use, well designed grip, good looks, packs almost all the features I need, etc.), some marvellous lenses such as Sigma Art primes (14/1.4, 35/1.4, 40/1.4, 85/1.4 and 105/1.4), some of the F-mount Nikon zooms (NIKKOR 70-200 mm 1:2,8E FL ED VR) as well as more recent Z-mount glass.
You don't have to switch if it's working for you. This type of video is not helping people watching this channel. The problem is those channels can afford to switch, but that's not the message to be fueled to subscribers. All cameras since 2012 are amazing. All mirrorless of today are overkill
Pretty sure Manny is sponsored by Sony to switch from Sony to Sony. Saw him on Sony ads in Best Buy.
I actually switched to Sony from being a 40 + Nikon user ( well I didn’t switch I just bought into Sony to see what all the hype was) I had a Z9 plus good Nikon glass. I used the Sony A7iv and the Sony A7rV and good glass . 2 months later I sold the Sony kit ! Nikon ergo and build quality is something that to me is very important. The Sony is very capable but I had no connection to it, it was not something I got any pleasure from using .
Sad news for u, I'm afraid. U can also get Sigma Art Primes in Sony E mount. Oh well, u could just consider doubling up and get the Sony bodies--all of them--sounds like u have plenty of cash from studio shoots, etc. Then u could have Sigma Primes on both sets of bodies, Nikon and Sony. U could use Nikon on: Mon, Wed, Fri and Sony on Tues, Thurs, Sat--Sunday off day. Day of Rest. Poor cameras & lenses will probably be overworked and overstressed, anyhow. 😎😎
I shoot mostly on XT4 but still have my 6mp Nikon D40. I have tried sony/Canon and find heir colors to be bland in comparison to Fuji and Nikon in Stills. It is purely subjective. CZcamsrs are only switching to them because they are better in Video and autofocus. But for stills, all go for Fuji or Nikon.
Great thoughts, Manny in outer space!
a7rV is my dream camera. I bought it while I was in Tokyo earlier this year, so I have a personal connection to the camera. It's my first choice when I want to shoot in color. My primary for life documentation and enjoyment is a Leica Monochrom M10. That's a camera that can shoot in any kind of light.
Nice video! Pics are phenomenal
BRO I HAVE THE SAME SONY A7RV AND SIGMA 85MM. ARE YOU FACING ANY FOCUS ISSUES. MY FRIENDS TELLING THERE IS UPDATE REQUIRED IN SIGMA. PLEASE REPLY
It no happens on Zeiss and G Master lenses
Why don't use the vertical battery grip?
many of your photos are in portrait mode
Are tou using a Color Checker Passport for more accuracy colors?
Sounds like you'll have an opportunity to switch back to the A1 line when the mkII comes out. They really messed up the A7 line with so much segmentation introducing the FX3/30 and ZV-E1. I don't quite understand Sony's firmware and feature cripple hammer, but the A1 feels abandoned. The much cheaper A7IV and A7RV have hardware choices that are better and have some better features for hybrid shooting.
the white ballance always shifts on my a6600 yea i can fix it but over 2000 for a photo and each one changes i like if for out doors and indoors photo shoots but the shift is a pain when you would like to just set a bunch of photos for a batch set and you can not with the shit in color i work with dancers at the venue and it make the working on the photo a pain i dont mind working them but as you want to work fast and get the photos out next day for promotion it makes your time 10 times longer
Its funny because when I rotate the camera they change profiles according if you use it in horizontal or vertical. I realize that with the focus modes.
Yes absolutely having thats issues with the wb! Even in a burst series of pictures which are milliseconds apart, the wb slightly shifted. Although I forbid the wb shift in the menu. Try shooting against some trees at sunrise with a clear sky. The wb will be completely messed up. I love the A7RV but the wb is not worthy to the rest of the camera.
I'm still debating between a7r5 over canon R5
I also know that the focus system for Canon is excellent, but what's more, I'm sure that Canon's build quality is much better than Sony's fancy build quality
Is there a recommendation to give me why to choose the Sony over the Canon?
Forget cameras. You are gonna be spending £10g on lenses in the next decade and sticking a 3 year and throw away body on the back. So whose lense system do you like? Personally I think they, sony canon, are equal but there are more used canon glass about.. so being poor I went with canon.
@@sammorganmoore You are absolutely right, I really like the Canon lenses and think they have no competition in my opinion
...Which one did you choose ? I am also torn between both of them...
One question. For portre photos Sigma Art or Sony G master?
Thank you for the video. I’m very happy with my A7RV but I also use it side by side with my A1’s. Always want to have two cameras with me and the two complement each other. Now also added an A7CR that has compromises with usability but IQ is also great and nice and small for travel and as a backup. Take care.
Please help me choose between a7rv and canon eos R5
That A1 is 🔥 🔥 🔥
Ohhh man your title scared me 😅 rocking a A7RIV and I can't wait to uograde in a few years hehe 🤘
My A7RV when the dial its on movie and preset 1,2 or 3 its on auto exposure, i havent been able to put it all manual, its so annoying.
Have this camera since last year nov... after almost 6 months of using it.. I'll say.. I like it... the increase resolution from the LCD screen is big for me because I shoot live view more often than evf... With that said. I really wish the LCD screen could be even higher res.. since 2mill dot screen is not the best or highest in the market. The evf however is great.. since its the same as A1. the body weight and size is just alright for me.. The low ISO files are very good but high iso... I dont like it. Anything more than 3200 i just feel alittle uncomfortable looking at it although... it is still no issue if you're printing or viewing from a distance. The Articulate screen bother me the least since I dont really use it..
I mean... I am using the A7RV from being a A7rii user for last 7 years.. its a big upgrade and improvement in terms of tech and camera ability so.. It feeels good.
Is it weak and you advise me to buy it? a7r v
The A1 is such an amazing camera ❤
A7rv seems close to perfect. But I’m confused because the video stabilization made me a bit dizzy with all the shaking.
I have also noticed a shift in AWB with vertical/horizontal orientation, but only in the studio. But as soon as I started using custom white balance set with a grey card, it went away completely. So lesson learned; never use AWB in the studio.
I knew it this will be the real OG Cam. I wish someday I can upgrade from my riii but only if I needed
I’m heading to Portugal soon… any recommendations on places to visit to see some nice views?
Best camera period. Sonys v2 lenses are perfection
A) be sure you’re not blocking the WB sensor on the body between the grip & lens. B) make sure you have your metering point set to focus point link AND switch V/H focus area set to off.
auto wb sensor isn't thru the lens?
No, there is a separate sensor between the handgrip and the lens body that is used for WB calculations. It’s been combined with the low light af illumination light.
He's using a circular polarizer which you can see at timestamp 5:00. When rotating the camera and not readjusting the polarizer the colors will be different.
I bought the A7R5 after using the A7R3 five years, for me the biggest improvement is the stabilization, it's improved by 2 stops at least !
Do you recommend me to buy a7r v
@MannyOrtiz - Shooting in CreativeLook Standard, my A1 AWB is horrid. Outdoors, it's always oversaturated reds, in-studio, always jaundiced skin. I have a much better go of things when I set CreativeLook to Portrait instead of Standard on people, and even sometimes on other things.
I also was strongly considering recouping the costs of downgrading to the A7RV cameras from my A1 bodies, but then I saw the specs for bursts and cycle rate. As a wildlife and occasional sports shooter, being stuck at 10fps mechanical is an absolute no-go here.
Actually, when I was shooting the other day, I did that, I noticed the white balance would shift on me too for a couple of photos
I think the AIAF and 4-axis screen will make its way to A1M2 can't wait for such a beast
would love to see how the high iso images turned out after putting them through Lightroom Classics new AI noise reduction feature!
6:03 I have an a7iii and an a7iv. I honestly *hate* the screen on my a7iv when shooting weddings / events. Everything is better, but all I want to do if grab the bottom or the top of the screen lol
9:50 I've found it's better to run the iso up as opposed to try and do it in post, minus the extended range.
Ohhhh that’s the way to end the video 😂😂😂 well thought out opinions on his experience 👍🏼👍🏼
did you edit the pictures or it came straight from camera
I’m not switching from a1 because electronic front curtain messes up bokeh in bright sunlight. And turning it off creates significant lag. Though I can say that I wasn’t as impressed with a1 as I thought I would.
ive stayed with the A1 mainly because i shoot so many types of photography so its perfect for me .
Interesting observation about image quality peaking with the a7r3. It was my first Sony. I currently own 4 Sony cameras, but the a7r3 is still one of them. I still love it.
And it still provides the higest amount of image quality in combination with ISO performance. After the A7RIII the image quality went down. It’s unmatchted by the A1 nor the A7RIV or RV.
I would say image quality already reach its bottleneck sometime ago.. the differences between camera body now are the af speed… buffer.. read speed… etc.
I still use my Riii more than the Rv. One of the best sensors ever made imo.
That flip screen is the perfect solution. Hope they‘ll put it on the A7 V as well.
That’s still a few years ahead to go
@@DreySantesson I’m totally ok with that. Love my A7 IV but that feature would make it even better. 💪
dont be surprise if they dont.. because Sony want people to buy the A7RV.. so they might not put it on other camera bodies. lol.
@@sgpork I don’t think so. I guess this will be the standard for all new FF Sonys. The main reason to buy the R-series will be the resolution.
It will be on the A1 ii and then there will be a video "why I switched to the A1 ii"
HELP MANNY! Rented A7R5 to try to replace my canon r5. Looks like the A7R5 has no eye autofocus 😢. Before you say of course it does, hear me out. My Sony A74 I can shoot spot then program the back button for eye autofocus. That option is no longer possible. Maybe I want a brides ring on her extended hand in focus then her eye on the next shot. Or perhaps the autofocus is hunting, I can use the half press and nail it with spot focus. Tell me I’m missing something.
Do you know which Firmware version the A7RV has that you are using? An addition in Firmware 2.0 is listed as 'Adds a function to switch the face that is prioritized for focus with a custom key'. Sounds like what you are looking for.
@@OttoRommelGamer wow wow wow! That may be exactly it! Don’t know, it was a rental. If that works you cost me $4k 😂
Why you didn't tell that the screen and evf are really bad wen you focus the resolution drop so much than you can see nothing it's like 240p on CZcams
